When swapping between my Mac and PC, a simple command key (fn+o) will swap the control/win/alt keys to control/opt/cmd and vice-versa. When I looked at user pics, I thought it looked a bit bigger than I would prefer, but it fits nicely in the hands and I can still “draw” with it when it comes time to dive into photoshop or illustrator. The weight of the mouse is a touch more than your standard mouse, but it honestly gives it a great feel and I have no issues zooming around. The side scrolling wheel also comes in very handy in design apps and clicking the center button will toggle the scroll wheel from a notch indexed feel to smooth, which allows it to act a little more like a Magic Mouse because you can flick your scrolling and let it roll ( Mac users should understand that). I thought the price was a bit steep at first, but it’s worth every penny once you feel how well built these devices are and start using them. No regrets at all.

This mouse is clearly aimed at productivity, I got it because I'm in spreadsheets all day and knew the side scroll wheel would be excellent for that. Unfortunatley, the default settings are so terrible as to be unusable. By default, the vertical scroll wheel is normal and the side scroll wheel is inverted. The vertical scroll wheel can also be toggled between "smart shift" and "free spin", both of which I can see the appeal of for others but aren't to my liking. All of this can be fixed with their software, fixing the direction of the horizontal scroll and setting the vertical scroll to "ratchet", which I would call normal. However, as a productivity focused product that I use for spreadsheets, that means I use this for work where I am blocked from installing software on my work computer. I had to contact my IT department just to be able to use a mouse, which is ridiculous. If my IT department hadn't agreed to let me install the software, I would have returned the mouse, the inverted horizontal scroll was absolutely a deal breaker. I also am not a fan of having unnecessary extra software running in the background at all times, so even though their software does fix my issues with the mouse, I'm not happy with that as a solution.Otherwise it's a solid mouse. Comfortable and accurate, glides smoothly on my desk, bluetooth is convenient for laptops. Gesture functionality is neat but I don't really use it. Has just enough extra buttons to be useful. I didn't think I would like the quiet buttons, but after a few minutes to get used to them they are just as good as normal buttons. I think the only thing I would change about the physical mouse itself, is I would prefer a ratchet option for the horizontal scroll, but that one is only smooth.

This seems like well-built mouse with a lot of great features but I have never used a mouse where the scrolling feels as disconnected from the physical movement of the wheel. In the ratchet mode, the mouse seems to only scroll so long as it detects your finger in contact with the wheel, even if the wheel continues to spin after your finger leaves it. It's very off-putting to feel the wheel still spinning in the mouse and on screen it's already stopped scrolling. Moreover, if you scroll as a series of short fast strokes, it seems to just ignore some of them entirely. As a result, the more frantically you spin the wheel, the less efficiently it scrolls. It feels like amount it scrolls is only loosely correlated to the amount the wheel spins. I tried tuning the settings in the Options+ app and disabling smooth scrolling features in web browsers but made no improvements. The mouse feels very good in hand and the side wheel + buttons seem very useful--but the behavior of the main scroll is a serious deal-breaker. I wouldn't use it if it cost $30 let alone $100. Several years back, I had a Logitech M705 Marathon with a two-mode scroll wheel that was a joy to use despite not having smart features or capacitive touch sensitivity. If this mouse had the same scroll wheel, I would likely have kept it. Cheers.

[Rewarded Review] A mouse with precision and excellent features

Long-term user of MX Anywhere 2S mouse primarily shared between a Galaxy Tab 7+ Android tablet and an Acer 15" Windows laptop. That same mouse was occasionally used with a Samsung smart TV, a couple of other tablets and three different smart phones. That 2S mouse traveled the world with me for more than a decade because it performed so well and was also pretty small. When I added a 27" iMac to my machines collection, I decided to seek another mouse.I tried several, mostly inexpensive, with varying results. Some were pretty good, others not so hot. Many that were supposed to work in both a Mac and Windows environment had something that actually didn't work in one or the other.I already knew the MX Anywhere 2S was the best mouse I had ever used, and I have been working with computers since the mid-1970s, so I have seen and tried many along the way. I figured it was time to add the MX Master 3S Wireless Laser Mouse to the mix. The DPI, UltraFast scrolling and Logi Options+ features, especially the workflow enhancements, seemed to be similar to the Anywhere 2S I loved. but on steroids.I also wanted to add the MX Key S full-size keyboard for similar reasons to the mouse. But those two items were kind of expensive, so I waited a couple months to see if I could get the combo at some discount. Didn't happen!I ended up scoring the mouse for $85 and paid list for the keyboard, both from Best Buy. I am so pleased with my acquisition! The mouse and keyboard are everything as advertised and more. They perform like a Ferrari drives! My 2S is still in service with the iMac & Android tablet and the 3S mouse & MX Keys S keyboard are primarily used with a Herk Orion1 Mega minicomputer. And some of those other ones are used with the other devices around the house.I do not regret for a minute having sprung for the MX S combo because using them is so much easier than any other keyboard and mouse I have used.

I do a lot of video editing up for work and up till now had been using the standard Apple Magic Mouse - my wrist was killing me! I had to make a switch, and though I usually purchase gaming mice, after seeing a tonne of reviews on the MX Master 3S I thought I'd take the plunge and give it a go. And boy am I'm so glad that I did!The finish on the mouse is a grippy smooth matte rubberised finish, with lovely texture and subtle styling that feels great in hand. The mouse click is precise and silent whilst still providing ample feedback to indicate a positive click. As the sensor features a variable polling rate (to save battery) it can suffer a little bit at slow speeds, but under normal use it is very precise and allows for those small movements that are sometimes ... MoreI do a lot of video editing up for work and up till now had been using the standard Apple Magic Mouse - my wrist was killing me! As the sensor features a variable polling rate (to save battery) it can suffer a little bit at slow speeds, but under normal use it is very precise and allows for those small movements that are sometimes required for video editing. Battery life is outstanding, outclassing my G Pro wireless, and being able to customise buttons for Davinci and other software is an absolute breeze.Probably the coolest thing is if I want to take the mouse with me from work to home. I can have the dongle plugged into my PC at home, and have the mouse also connected to my Macbook Pro at work. This means that I can take the mouse to and from work and with a click of a button (under the mouse) I can switch computers from editing at work, to finishing projects at home.My only criticism is with regard to the infinite scroll wheel. There is a super handy button to turn infinite on/off and to turn on that 'notch' feeling from the scroll wheel. I just wish that scroll was a little firmer while infinite is turned off. I like the firm feedback knowing my scroll wheel isn't going to over scroll and scroll any further than I need it to.Overall I really am pleased with my purchase, and if you're like me, I think you will be too.

It took a little getting used to because of the ergonomic shape and layout but once I got over that and started using all of the buttons on the mouse and seeing the value of having all of the additional functionality and the SUPER smooth scrolling of the scroll wheel, I think it would be really hard to go back to using a basic mouse. This is really a valuable creative tool as well. It has a second dedicated horizontal scrolling wheel which is perfect for timeline editing. It connects via bluetooth or dongle and remembers 3 devices. The drawback about this is that the dongle doesn't store inside the mouse so if I ever do need that dongle for another machine there's a small chance I might misplace it. That's my only gripe. I would recommend this mouse but if you can't get past the ergonomic shape, Logi also makes a more traditional shaped mouse in the same family with a similar buttery smooth main scroll wheel, just search for "Logitech - MX Anywhere 3S Wireless Bluetooth Fast Scrolling Mouse with Programmable Buttons - Black".

[Rewarded Review] Logitech MX MASTER 3S Mouse Issue, BUT read on:
30 July 2024

This mouse initially displayed erratic lagging and freezing on my Windows 11 computer, even at lower dpi settings. I tried using different USP ports on the computer. I even reinstalled the "LogiOptions+.exe "software more than once with no improvement. Finally after several days I found the only true fix in a Reddit forum.... This mouse does NOT like using USB 3.0 ports for some reason. Their suggested and proven fix was to plug an older USB 2.0 HUB into the computer (I already had one) and the mouse "LogiBolt USB receiver" (a.k.a. dongle) into the USB 2.0 HUB. Wow, PROBLEM now SOLVED! Now this mouse works perfectly with no lagging or freezing at any dpi setting in the software. Just GOOGLE search "MX MASTER 3S lagging and freezing" to go down the rabbit hole of ... MoreThis mouse initially displayed erratic lagging and freezing on my Windows 11 computer, even at lower dpi settings. Just GOOGLE search "MX MASTER 3S lagging and freezing" to go down the rabbit hole of reading about it.On to my Review of the mouse itself AFTER the fix above: The magnetic scroll wheel is EXCELLENT, very SMOOTH. Tracking is perfect at my chosen setting of 2500 dpi. It tracks OK on glass, but BEST on a mouse pad; very precise compared to glass. The thumb wheel is handy set to "Zoom IN/OUT" in the software; works in web pages, .pdf readers and more. The shape feels great in my hand and the left/right button clicks are almost silent and very precise.I would have given the mouse 5 stars if not for this well known lagging glitch that Logitech knows about. BUT, I definitely WOULD still buy the Logitech-MX Master 3S mouse again because of the overall feel of quality.

[Rewarded Review] Must have mouse for your computer!

This is my third Logitech MX Master mouse. i first bought the MX Master mouse and then the 3S came out and I bought that one. The S means it is 'silent' when you click the mouse buttons. Although it isn't completely silent, it is MUCH quieter than the MX Master 3. I use a MacBook Pro for work and personal use, I configured the Logi Options+ and used a keyboard shortcut mapped to the left and right buttons below the mouse wheel to switch between full-screen apps and it does it flawlessly allowing for better productivity. I bought this mouse after getting my new MacBook Pro M2 Max because of the color scheme. The scrolling and pointer speeds can be adjusted much higher for ease of use and not having to move the mouse much.My only complaint about this mouse is the ... MoreThis is my third Logitech MX Master mouse. i first bought the MX Master mouse and then the 3S came out and I bought that one. I bought this mouse after getting my new MacBook Pro M2 Max because of the color scheme. The scrolling and pointer speeds can be adjusted much higher for ease of use and not having to move the mouse much.My only complaint about this mouse is the software. After rebooting my computer, I have to wait until I finish logging in and all the apps to open up before the custom settings are applied. I have the pointer speed set at 6700 DPI so I don't have to move the mouse as much and the shortcuts between full-screen apps takes a bit to load. Every now and then the custom settings will stop working during use, sometimes I can turn the mouse off and on and then close Logi Options+ and re-open it and that will solve it, a few times I have had to reboot the computer to make it work. It can be mapped to 3 devices using the button on the bottom. This is a device I would pay full price for if I had to because of how much it increases my productivity. It feels natural to use this mouse the way it is constructed and you don't have to move your fingers very far to access all the buttons. I don't use the gestures feature at all so I can't comment on that. I work in IT as a Systems Engineer and do software development as well, and this mouse makes all the difference in the world. Don't think about buying this mouse, just buy it! I have the non-Mac version mouse as well and the only difference is the color, the Mac version matches the Space Gray MacBook Pro.

[Rewarded Review] The best mouse out there right now !
17 February 2024

This has 7 buttons and 2 scrollwheels, all programmable !The horizontal scrollwheel works like magic and can be used for different actions in different apps. This one has an electromagnetic centre scroll wheel which is just insanely fast and butter smooth ! Best out there definitely. Also all the navigation gestures can be mapped to the thumb button and you have all the magic mouse functionality right there. The ease with which you can map the different buttons on this one using the Logic Options software (fully compatible with MacOS) is just great ! You can make it your very personal workhorse with the mapping you want on the side buttons, scroll click, thumb click and it's gestures.Even without all these button functionalities, this is a high (8k) dpi mouse ... MoreThis has 7 buttons and 2 scrollwheels, all programmable !The horizontal scrollwheel works like magic and can be used for different actions in different apps. This one has an electromagnetic centre scroll wheel which is just insanely fast and butter smooth ! No other mouse comes even close !

[Rewarded Review] They need to try again

I really tried to love this mouse, but ultimately it went back for various deal breaking reasons. For context I use a lot of AutoCad, and view a lot of large PDFs for school, so I was interested in a "productivity mouse" that has a horizontal scroll wheel. I come from a long run of "gaming" mouses. However, expectations meet reality when you realize that this is just a standard "consumer" level wireless mouse from Logitech with a fancy skin and buttons. For over $90 you get an extremely overweighted mouse with one of the lowest polling rates and worst scroll wheel. What does this mean? Well if your eyes are used to Logitechs other great wireless mouse's with much higher polling rates, you can visually see the mouse "ghosting" or "jittering" as you move it across ... MoreI really tried to love this mouse, but ultimately it went back for various deal breaking reasons. For context I use a lot of AutoCad, and view a lot of large PDFs for school, so I was interested in a "productivity mouse" that has a horizontal scroll wheel. Well if your eyes are used to Logitechs other great wireless mouse's with much higher polling rates, you can visually see the mouse "ghosting" or "jittering" as you move it across your screen. Because what's happening is the mouse is checking for movements at a much lower rate than a gaming wireless mouse that you can buy for less or the same price from the same brand. The vertical scroll wheel has two modes, one that is satisfyingly tactile but noisy, and one that is so loose you end up going from the top to the bottom of a webpage in what feels like 1/16th of a scroll, and it has this unnecessary automated scroll feature (who needs that?)The horizontal wheel however is PERFECT. It has just the right amount of resistance and tactility that it becomes second nature. This thing must be like 400 grams because it's just simply too heavy for a mouse that's meant for long hours of productivity and that's coming from a Razer Naga user. (Heavy Gaming mouse)To sum it up, the horizontal scroll wheel is the only thing actually good about this mouse, everything else is garbage.
