As I was reading this, I didn't feel the hunger to want to give up all other adult responsibilities and read it entirely. That did come with the second, though.

I was left with a bit of an ambivalent feeling after reading this, as there definitely was a few thing I hated but also some I absolutely loved. I’ll start off by saying that I really liked the story overall, and the world that Maas build was very interesting! There’s no denying she gotta have one hell of an imagination to come up with this. I immediately took a liking to Lucien - to me, he would’ve been the obvious choice if it stood between ham and Tamlin. But he lost his character towards the end, kinda de-developed in a sense, and I’m kinda mad about it - Maas really did him dirty! And then there was Rhys, do I need to say more? Never in my life have I been so obsessed with a book. I was speechless at the end. This was my first time reading fantasy. "A Court of Thorns and Roses" by Sarah J. Maas is a fantasy novel that tells the story of Feyre, a mortal who hates fairies and is scared of them just like every other mortal. She has never met a fae but rumours and folklores are enough for her to know that she doesn’t ever want to meet one. But one mistake on her part gets her caught up in the dangerous world of the faeries. I cannot believe it took me so long to finish this one. And my lord I am addicted. I couldn’t stop reading it and now I can’t stop thinking about it. It made me feel some type of way and hit all the right notes. Adding this one to one of my all time favourite books list.

I’m about halfway through this book and think it’s okay. The main plot is a basic trope that is based on a very popular fairy tale (you can probably figure out which) complete with the same high notes of the Disney movie that is based on said fairy tale. There are, however, a lot of unique characters and creatures in Fayre’s universe and that is really what is keeping interested in the story. The first couple of chapters are not exactly exciting and some of the characters are shallow with very minimal development. The most irritating thing about it is that while these same characters are thankfully written out of the main story, the antagonist spends a ton of time thinking about them, which can make for a frustratingly boring read in some parts. As far as the physical book itself, it is a very bright coral color which shows even minor wear. The dust jacket is also prone to small tears and I really wish it were more durable as I was planning on putting these books on a display shelf.

I started reading this book right after Fourth Wing after finally deciding to try out the fantasy genre. I could go on forever about how much I enjoyed this series. My favorite book is A Court of Mist and Fury but there’s not an option to review that one. All I will say is the chapter where Rhys tells Feyre about when he realized she was his mate will forever hold a special place in my heart. Thank you booktok. And whoever is considering giving this series a try, I definitely think you should. The first book is slow and not full of anything too exciting but once you get to the second book, you’ll understand why this series is so hyped up.

You will fly through each book and wish you had the next ready to read immediately. Sarah J. Maas does such a good job of getting you hooked on the story line and the characters. This book feels like an immersive experience - like you're physically there in the realms she describes. AND - can't forget about all the spiciness this book contains. Read through it in 3 days. Zero regrets. Only regret is not having the box set so I could immeditaely start the next book (which I devoured equally as fast).

Buyer Beware

TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE. I ordered this for the one day shipping it offered. Shipping turned into 8 days. Reached out to seller for support with no response. Book does not appear to be the original US version. It appears to be an indian version. This version they send you does not have the same texture cover, the summary in the back reads different as well than the US version. Book is smaller and thinner and the pages are yellowish. Will be returning seeing as i ordered it from AMZ instead and finished reading it before this one even came in.

So, better late than never to jump on the ACOTAR series right??!? I just finished the 1st book in the series, so I’ll keep it short & do a bigger review when I finish the whole series. Loved it.✨ Reminded me of an adult version of Beauty & the Beast. Love Feyre’e character so much! Love the bond between her & Tamlin. And love the banter between Feyre & Lucien-they cracked me up. Just love him! Like I said when reviewing Fourth Wing, I never ever thought I’d be one to read anything fantasy related, but here we are! Another one bites the dust & sucked me right in! I’ve heard that the series only gets better after the 1st book, so I’m all ready to dive right in! Hoping it gets a little bit spicier too!

Let me start by saying Sarah, you magnificent wizard. This book was so so so good. Some People say that it's super slow with the world building and everything, but I didn't think that at all. Personal, I loved this book. I thought it was pretty well paced, and opened up the ACOTAR world very well. This book was the start of my favorite series I have ever read. I love feyres story, and I relate to her so so much. While this book isn't my favorite in the series, this one started at all and I love it so dearly. I wish I could read it for the first time again so bad. Also am I the only one who didn't get the riddle right away?
