I purchased two S1 fans and a single zone controller to use in an AV cabinet. The products are well packaged, instructions easy to follow and the installation templates are sturdy. Installation was easy and the system works well. Happy AV components running cooler now.

I'm using this in a different kind of application. We have a toaster oven in a tight space that doesn't have factory recommended clearances. So, in conjunction with the AIRPLATE S1, Home Theater and AV Quiet Cabinet Cooling Fan System, 4 Inch, I installed an active cooling system. The controller is awesome. The max "alarm" limit is 140 degrees. This does work, but I'd prefer to have a higher alarm setting. Other than that, this combination is perfect. I have the controller mounted in the rear of the closet in a corner at 45 degrees so that the wires can be attached. I may add a second fan, as the fan doesn't quite have the CFM's I expected. All in all, it's a great solution, and the products themselves are amazing. I think I have the coolest toaster oven cooling ... MoreI'm using this in a different kind of application. This product works well in the normal mode switching fans on and off as needed at a preset speed. The "smart mode" operation is a great concept and a very much needed product but you're not quite there yet. The temp probe has a sensitivity of 2 degrees and flickers near the set threshold causing the fans to constantly change speeds and results in a siren like oscillation. While it isn't terribly loud it is certainly annoying. I use mine in the normal mode and find the steady noise of a higher speed to be less noisey than the oscillation. I am happy with my purchase but would very much prefer the smart mode if you get the wrinkles ironed out. Keep trying, we need this product.

My PS4 would get hot and the internal fan would speed up. It sounded like it was going to blow up. This Controller turns the fans on at the set temperature. The display looks awesome it tells you the current temp the fan speed. It shows the temperature that It set to turn on. And the temperature where the alarm will sound if it reaches the temperature. Great controller for the fans.
I purchased this controller unit and it works great. The controller is very unobtrusive and integrates well with my entertainment cabinet. I placed the thermal probe inside my android streaming box with a usb fan under the box and mounted another usb fan unit on the back of my cabinet for more ventilation. The cooling results are fantastic, as the streaming box cpu ran around 120 - 125 degrees before and now stays at 90 degrees on the auto setting. Very happy with my purchase.
Overall I would consider this a good value and would definitely buy it again. Easy to use and has a large screen. My main quirk is that this controller did not work perfectly with the AC Infinity AI-CFD80BA Dual 80 Quiet Cabinet Fan, Black even though it's listed as compatible. The thermostat and on mode works good but the mode where it changes speed has a bug. It might be the fan but it has a strong motor noises at lower speeds. I paired it up with AC Infinity AI-CFD120BA Dual 120 Quiet Cabinet Fan, Black and it doesn't have this issue. Can't really complain for $25 but I'd recommend they look into this.
I've been fan cooling tube hi-fi gear since the early '70s. At one point, I had a pair of 6 foot tall Mid-Atlantic racks for my home theatre amps (three Audio Research tube amps, not including the solid state sub woofer amps) and video processing, with multiple intake and exhaust fans and a thermal controller, at considerable cost.My current project involved a custom made silencer box for a 1/2 HP air compressor used to drive the tonearm on my turntable. In a past installation, I essentially soundproofed a walk-in closet to accommodate the compressor, using mass loaded vinyl and acoustic blankets. Here, at my new place in Austin, I did not have the luxury of that space. In a past installation, I essentially soundproofed a walk-in closet to accommodate the compressor, using mass loaded vinyl and acoustic blankets. Here, at my new place in Austin, I did not have the luxury of that space. The box was constructed based in part on an Internet design from an acoustic supply company, with several modifications, including fan cooling and a door with effective closures, to access the compressor. The fans are mounted at 90 degrees to the cut outs in the silencer box, and everything is lined with a melamine foam/mass loaded vinyl sandwich. The fans all mounted beautifully, two of the cabinet mounts on one side of the bigger box, each within their own box, and a third, designated a "blower," and set up for additional exhaust at the opposite end of the silencer box. It all wires daisy-chained to the last fan, which plugs into the controller. Easy. The controller gives me various options- the temp when the fans kick in, an alarm temp warning when the interior of the box reaches a designated temp. I can vary both the fan triggering temp and the alarm temp. The controller sits on top of the box in an accessory stand designed for free standing mounting. This is not exactly an audio gear or A/V cabinet install-- it was challenging to get the box built just so, and the cooling gear from AC Infinity was a really good choice to accomplish my goals. The company has also been very good at phone support when I had a few questions along the way, like running extension USB cables and the effect of voltage drop on the fans, etc.In all, a top rating for these folks.'d like to post some pictures of the completed project- i am very pleased with it---it looks like Darth Vader's bar fridge! You can find me on the web at TheVinylPress.com--I write about older LPs, with a slant toward the obscure, particularly late '60s psych/prog/folk from the UK and other countries. I received no accommodations for writing this review. In fact, I asked the company how I could do so because I was so pleased with their products and support.
I ordered this to assist cool an enclosed cabinet holding with my Denon receiver. The temperature was running well above 100 degrees. I then purchased two table desk usb fans because I am not going to cut holes in my $2000 Avion cabinet. I place said fans pointed at receiver left and right. The controller can reduce the speed of the desk fans, they were too loud at full speed. The temperature in my cabinet has been reduced to 75 degrees. Just to be sure it wasnメt a farce I compared the temperature readings with the precision of a $200 Milwaukee Laser Temp Gun and the numbers matched within one degree.
The fans exceeded my expectations. They were purchased to be mounted into a wooden cabinet that housed a PC in our Training room. The PC is there for quest speakers to use with our Audio/Video system so that they don't need to connect any thing more that a flash drive or have a CD disc to run there presentation from or connect to a website. Being housed inside the cabinet would cause a build up of heat from the PC. Once we had easily installed the fans with the thermostatic control, the space that contains the PC is cooled down when the PC is in operation with NO noise or vibration from the fans. I highly recommend these fans if you are looking for fans that are very quiet and vibration free to move air as needed.
i have had one of these for about 10 years now, and its still working! amazing. and its more or less, out of sight, and out of mind. i had to check it this morning because i'm thinking of building another cabinet for something else, and was thinking, hey, does this old thing even still work? yep. extremely quiet, and never had a problem. now, back to my design.
