Activision Call of Duty : Modern Warfare 3 Standard PlayStation 3

We enjoy the other later CoD games for their bots in offline and lan play. We have satellite and can't play online. We decided to purchase this as yet another set of maps with bots only to find that it's multiplayer doesn't have them. But it has something equally as good for offline splitscreen and lan play. It has bots in waves and the feel is almost like the oldtime side scrollers, you play the match as far as you can and then have to start over. It's very worth it given the price of this game now. Very entertaining for the large percentage of rural people still lacking decent internet.

The multiplayer's actually pretty solid, way better than before. Zombies has some annoying stuff, like your weapon levels resetting when you exfil, but overall, it's fun. If you're into multiplayer and need a zombie fix, it's worth checking out. Heads up: unlocking system - terrible. They should just stick to leveling up weapons like they did in MW2; that was way better than this mess.

As anyone who plays these COD games knows, Black Ops 2 is having major issues...freezing PS 3, breaking many of them, and major lag and connections issues. It will take a number of months to fix these.If you don't believe me, check out the Activision blogs and other COD blogs. It seems some people have no issues, but many do.My personal experience is I bought BO2, and after playing a few games it froze my PS 3 -had to do a hard start. That happened about twenty times, till I read if that happens too much your PS 3 will break.So, I am back to this game...and BO 1. Loving them, this game has better maps in the DLC content than original, but as far as gaming very similar to MW 2 and I will take a game that WORKS any day. This is really 3.5 stars, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt.I don't play the online multiplayer mode, so if you're like me and want the game to stand on its own, it does deliver in some respects.I initially played the campaign and some of the survival maps but that really didn't do anything for me. It's a decent game, but MW2 it's definitely not. The Spec Ops in MW2 were awesome and I was hoping that they'd recaptured that same type of gameplay in MW3.Turns out the global missions are similar. They're definitely not as creative or fun as the Spec Ops from MW2, but they are fun nonetheless. I've recently gone back and played some of the Spec Ops from MW2 to give myself a refresher and then tried MW3 again. There's nothing fun in the single player about that game and I couldn't even finish the campaign it was so bad.

Singleplayer: I found it stunning from the graphics to the actually story line. MW3 never gave you a break from gunfire, our heart strings. IT was as if they put together a movie and let you control the star. The controls were smooth and the Objective pure and simple. They created a life with MW and you followed it through straight to the end of MW3Multiplayer: It is nothing like its predecessors. New weapons to the way you actually draw the weapon has been redesigned. Their is no other feeling that can describe joy as when you pull out a sub machine gun and flip open the arm grip. MW3 is kind of like an DLC for MW2. The campaign isn't as good as before and it's one of the shortest ones yet. The multiplayer is different enough from the last game, and carrying stuff over is a cool new feature. Being able to use my MW2 weapons is a big plus. But the Zombies mode doesn't quite feel like the classic zombies experience.

I bought this game knowing it would be a redux of MW2, I didn't care as I enjoyed that game. COD has always been a game that I could easily pick up and play for a few hours a couple of times a week. The good news is that this game still runs smooth as butter and has the same smooth controls. The bad news is that the new maps are all garbage (well ok not all of them, but you get the point). Its a total --to borrow a phrase from Fantastic Mr. Fox-- "Clustercuss". The maps are decently sized, but they're also cramped and claustrophobic. Meanwhile the open areas are full of boxes, crates, burning cars, and yes even ANOTHER downed helicopter (really? we already played Crash twice). The turf war aspect of multiplayer is what I enjoyed about COD4 and MW2, that dynamic is sorely missing from this game, basically you run around and hope that when you come across someone you are behind them, and not the other way around.When I go to the firing range I don't go there to shoot targets four feet away, if I wanted if i wanted to that I'd go play Lasertag with a bunch of 11 year olds, which is think is actually the age demographic this game is trying to appeal to.If you are going to release what is essentially a re-do of your old game at least create some new and interesting maps.

There are sixteen maps located in the multiplayer offering an excellent breeding ground for multiplayer combat.You also have several modes of play from street firefights, controlling particular towns from invasion, stealth infiltrations, rooftop firefights, multiplayer as well as various survival modes, battle modes, online modes. Quite an array to keep the overall entertainment flowing. Modern Warfare 3 has continued to improve on the previous titles offering better choice of weapons and upgrades, while keeping various elements from the previous titles, including Territorial Control, Bomb Planting, Snipers, Mass Killing to name but a few. In terms of graphics and overall performance this game is a continuation of this improvement and refinement.I have spent hours and hours on this game and loved every second of it and everyone I know that has played this game also enjoyed it!If you like an all action packed shooter which incredible detail, refined controls and great sound quality, then this title is worthy of a look, as it really adds to the realistic feel of what it would be like to gear up and take the leadership role in the middle of a war zone.
