Acure - Brightening Vitamin C & Ferulic Acid Oil Free Serum (30ml)

This is a product I’ve been using for years. In my photo, the white milky one is the old formula, clear is the new. My most recent purchase was clear and smells different. I contacted the brand and found out they wanted a silkier application. It is that. I hate the new scent, but the brand swears none of the ingredients have changed. A month in and my skin is the same, so I will continue using it, however I preferred the old formula and scent by far. This new version is “silkier” but that was never an issue. I’m not sure why there’s no announcement on the website or socials either, but it is what it is. I docked a star for the new formula’s weird scent and texture.

Amazing, premium stuff!

I love this stuff! It comes as a solid (kinda like lip balm), so you have to scoop a small bit out with the back of your fingertip, then rub it between your palms before massaging onto your face. The smell is wonderful and spa-like (citrus/jasmine), and it feels luxurious. I don't like strong or artificial odors, but this is very natural and pleasant. My skin just glows afterwards - more youthful and radiant. My only issue with this product is that it seems like one of the ingredients (maybe shea?) remains as very tiny little white beads unless I rub/smoosh them thoroughly between my hands. It's not an issue at bedtime, but if I use in the morning I have to sometimes look for, and remove, any stray little white beads before heading out into the world. They are ... MoreI love this stuff! Noticed a huge improvement in my skin in 2 days. The surface became much smoother, skin was much softer and the tone became much more even and clear. I have tried 2 vitamin c serums before and had similar results with one from The Ordinary and one from La Roche Possay. This one is priced between those two serums. I noticed no stinging or burning with this, not even tingling (though the La Roche Possay one did tingle a bit) so it may be a weaker or more gentle formula than that one. My skin is not sensitive so your mileage may vary.The price is decent but I will compare this later to another I bought from iHerb which is more affordable and comes in a large size. Instant brightening

This was a serum I didn’t know I needed until I tried it. I had used various ascorbic acid serums many years ago but after I started developing skin barrier issues, I gave up on all irritating actives. My mom was using this so gave it a shot out of the blue and was shocked at how much brighter it made my skin - which wasn’t dull to start! This also not only didn’t break me out after a two week trial, but surprisingly seemed to reduce breakouts? Honestly, the scent didn't appeal to me when I first tried it. It was such an unfamiliar fragrance that I couldn't even find words to describe it or draw comparisons to other familiar smells. However, what truly won me over with this product is the remarkable result I experienced right after the initial use. I was genuinely astonished by how it plumped my skin and noticeably improved its texture. This gem has seamlessly become a staple in my skincare routine. Over time, I've even grown accustomed to the scent, so it's no longer a concern. HahaDefinitely a fantastic purchase! 👍

My favorite form of Vitamin C!

I reached out to acure team for the composition before purchasing this serum and boy, they nailed it! They formulated it with 2% of Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, just the right amount for an effective and non-irritating (gentle) serum!Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate has all the benefits of L-Ascorbic Acid but unlike other forms of Vitamin C (not all are created equal), tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate is more stable and oil soluble! It goes deeper on the layers of our skin and this product does a very good job on lightening and brightening my complexion.Aside from that, a little goes a long way. 2 pumps would cover my whole face and neck. I use this in conjunction with my favorite sunscreen everyday.I will definitely repurchase this product. 🥀

Overall a good product for glowy skin!

As other have mentioned, the smell is a bit funky. If you rub into your face right away though the smell goes away. It absorbs very fast into the skin.After a few weeks of use I noticed my skin had a nice natural glow to it. And overall I felt like it's helped smooth my skin texture. I use this product once a day during my AM skin routine.I also want to add that I have oily, acne-prone skin, and this product does NOT clog my pores or cause me to break out (which I wanted to note for others with acne-prone skin because that is a major concern of mine whenever I try a new skincare product!)

Please go back to the previous formula!

I've been using the Acure vitamin c and ferulic acid serum as an affordable replacement to the Drunk Elephant version for years. I've loved the product and have seen great results with the previous formula. As mentioned by a few others, there was a recent (unwanted and unexpected) formula change. The new formula has a smell and is now watery. Why the change Acure? The previous product was perfect, please go back to it. I am now on the hunt for a new product and may very well return to the Drunk Elephant version. Very disappointed.

Works really well for me!

This improved the brightness and redness of my skin within a week. I was really surprised at how quickly I could see a difference. After using the serum every day and the wash a few times a week for several weeks now, my skin has stayed really clear, it looks a lot brighter and smoother, and it feels much softer.The serum is definitely very oily, and it takes a while to for my skin to absorb it and not be oily to the touch, so this may not be the right product for you if that would bother you.However, I have very oily skin and facial oils and other products with oily residue typically cause majors breakouts, but this product has done the opposite. Definitely recommend!
