The Sub10 Mk2 is a powerful active subwoofer that extends the playback range of nearfield and midfield monitors down to 25Hz. A robust special woofer with a large stroke and a heavy-duty voice coil has been optimized for precise reproduction in a bass reflex cabinet. The downward working bass reflex tube avoids disturbing wind noise by generous dimensioning and shaping. The PWM (=pulse width modulation) amplifier achieves an efficiency of over 90%, so that even critical passages can be completed without overheating for a long time. An additional output allows the cascading of any number of subwoofers. For medium and larger control rooms, this subwoofer offers an excellent combination of low cutoff frequency (-3 dB at 25Hz) and high undistorted sound pressure (113 dB SPL at 1m). All Adam subwoofers have differentiated options to adapt it to the respective room or satellites. There are control options for volume (-60 to +6 dB), phase switching (180°) and variable upper cut-off frequency of the subwoofer (50-150 Hz). A filter can be switched on for the satellite outputs, which blocks the signals of the satellites below 85 Hz, for example, in order to play back a movie sound suitable for Dolby and to relieve them of the low frequencies. Furthermore, it is possible to either switch the subwoofer on or off manually or to have it switch on automatically as soon as it receives signals (signal on/continuous).
