My thoughts on the AEG brushless grinder is that this grinder makes light work of heavy duty jobs. I love this tool and it will never leave my collection, I love the AEG brand and I have nothing bad to say about this brand, this will be the only brand I continue to use for many years to come.

I have used this tool more than most do over about 3 months working with a stone cladding product which means LOTS of dust. In the last couple of weeks the switch has packed it in, too stiff to safely turn on. Spent half of the time blowing dust out of the switch to get it to work, then it just fell out. The design of the switch is appalling, the plastic clip that attaches it to the inside of the grinder look weaker than a bread clip. I recommended this product (when I first bought it) to the boss who has also had his fail in the last week (same problem). Such a shame when AEG has invested so much into having the best motors and batteries in the business and something as small as a cheap switch lets it down.*I have considered upgrading to the paddle switch but ... MoreI have used this tool more than most do over about 3 months working with a stone cladding product which means LOTS of dust. I have been a tradesman for 13 years. Nearly all my tools are AEG. I feel that for the price you pay, the tools are generally pretty good. However the 'overtemp' motor protection is the big downfall for AEG. In my experience the grinder has been the worst so far. When using it for either grinding or cutting it doesn't handle torque very well at all. To the point where it is frustrating and time consuming. Performing easy basic cutting becomes a problem cause of this. The drills also do it but the grinder is by far the worst. I can't afford to replace all my tools with another brand so I am sticking with AEG. Apart from what I have mentioned above, the tools are very good performers and have served me well.I would recommend but only with an explanation about the ... MoreI have been a tradesman for 13 years. My old angle grinder died and since I have other cordless AEG tools which I am very happy with this was an obvious choice. Sadly it cut out under light load and after a short 5 minutes of periodic use. Its replacement did the same with fully harged 5 Ah battery.
Everything I was hoping for. It is powerful, a lot of GRITT, fits perfect in my hands and not to heavy. I waited long for this one!!! For now, I'll stick with AEG. I have no problems with any of my AEG products. Keep the standards up AEG!
Awesome handy tool, plenty of power, but very thirsty. It does go ok when on <50% battery, but fails to perform on anything too hard, ie granite. The switch is still a big problem . The last one lasted about a year before the switch packed it in, with about a 6 week wait for AEG to assess the warranty claim. The more expensive grinder although a different design switch, doesn't look that sturdy either. That being said, I recently compared this to a makita equivalent, for some time considered the best in the business, but the AEG wipes clean all over it. Although its not perfect, its still a very good product which still puts up an impressive effort.
3 months old broken twice same problem both times (will not start keeps cutting itself out). Was repaired under warranty the first time 2 months after purchase and is now broken again with the same problem 1 week after repair.Works okay not really up to drawn out use seems to struggle as it heats up the safety overload seems to come on more and more frequently. Is good for a quick cut here and there. Realisticly needs to be used with the 9ah battery use with the smaller batteries and they go flat very quick and aren't really capable of giving it the power it needs unless fully charged. When it was working I was more then happy using it with the 9ah battery but given I only have 1 as soon as it needed to be charged it is a tedious process using the grinder with the ... More3 months old broken twice same problem both times (will not start keeps cutting itself out). Ive got 2 of these. First one faulted due to faulty switch. Had to buy another so i could work whilst the other was being repaired.then tge switch went on the mew one. Back for repairs. No parts available so was given new. Thanks no problem there. Then the original switch was still lffy and then today sounds like a bearing seizing. Thank god got a new spare. So off for watranty again. My biggest gripe with these is the position of the switch. I would recommend Milwaukee grinder over aeg . Exactly the same inside Milwaukee is just better ergonomically.
The 125mm discsand the brushless technology makes this one of the best AEG tool in my toolbox. Easy to use, light weight and low power consumption means batteries past longer on the job. Good unit!
Bought this as a replacement for a previous Aeg grinder after years of trade workHappy to say stands up to the job has plenty of power and feels well balanced in the hand.Toggle switch on top allows for seamless switching between hands
