Almost perfect ... except for Aer's glaring backpack issue ...

Great materials. A really solid bag. But ... seriously Aer ... please stop with the horizontal luggage pass through strap, okay? Thank you.P.S. Okay, actually the GoPack 2 has a vertically oriented strap. So, that is a step in the right direction. I'll give you that one. ;-)

Overall great bag but here’s a few things that need improvement. When the bag is placed on top of a suitcase, there is no outside pocket that is on the top of the bag. This means you have to take it off and shuffle through pockets which is inconvenient on the TSA line. The water bottle pocket works well but as a right handed person it faces down on top of the suitcase when you use the luggage strap. I don’t know why the design called for it to be horizontal when it would make the bag so much better to keep it vertical on top of the suit case. I may modify the design myself since it would add so much more function to this bag as a business traveler.

Flight Pack 3 fits in United’s “personal item” space

I was looking specifically for a good pack that would fit under the seat on my regular United flight (economy, middle seat, Boeing 737). Among major domestic airlines, United. has the smallest “personal item” size limit, 17 x 10 x 9– tighter than the specs for the Aer Flight Pack 3 (FP3). Would my new half-stuffed FP3 meet the challenge? But first, the sizing frame at baggage check: YES, it fit! Then, on to the airplane seat: YES, it still fit! A smidgen less foot space, but welcome home FP3. My only suggestion for improvement: provide the option for contrasting zipper pull tabs—in a dark cabin black on black is hard to make out.

Great quality and features, looks great and isn't huge.
27 August 2024

The quality of materials and workmanship is top notch. The straps are very well padded and the pack wears comfortably even when packed heavy. The xpac fabric is very sturdy, and combined with the aqua guard zippers, it provides great weatherproofing. The front admin panel has plenty of space and mini pockets. It's not my perfect, ideal setup but there's no bag that's perfect in all ways. The laptop sleeve is well padded and is inside the main compartment - a separate compartment would've added more size and weight, so I'm very okay with it. With a laptop inserted and the admin panel packed, the main compartment can feel tight - but one side of the compartment zips down all the way and provides easier access. That's not a fault of the pack, as it's a 20L and not huge. It also keeps me from filling up the space just because it's available. The top handle is very comfortable and the side handle has plenty of room but is not padded. The straps can also be stowed away to keep the overall footprint compact. The water bottle pocket can be zipper up to keep the shape nice and tidy - it can hold 20oz hydro flasks easily, and I can jam a 32oz nalgene in there if I really wanted to.

Great versatile bag
2 December 2023

Great product. I love the versatility of stowing the backpack straps, really helps when it’s not needed. Good amount of storage space and great organization. Very comfortable to wear as a backpack. 2 improvements I would like to have seen is…padding on the brief side handles would be appreciated and a clam shell opening of the main compartment would work well. That being said, still top class and a great addition to my travel gear.

I love this bag!...
19 December 2023

I love this bag! I love that it can be carried three ways and it holds so much more than meets the eye. I plan to get another one and just carry one on each shoulder for a total of 40L. It’s fairly comfortable as a backpack as well. The material it’s made of does add some weight to the bag, but I’m willing to deal with it. It is a perfect personal item for flights and fits perfectly under the seat in front. For my 5’4” frame, I was also able to prop it up and put my legs up during the flight, which is an added bonus. Thanks Aer!

Perfect but 2 major issues if you're using this to attach to a luggage handle
24 June 2024

I bought this bag to use on business travel trips as it has a luggage sleeve to attach to my roller suitcase. I wanted something that was close to 20L with enough room for a laptop, ipad, easy access pouch for cables, and enough room to pack some toiletries or clothes in the main department if I didn't have enough room in my roller. This bag is perfect except for 2 flaws: 1. the luggage sleeve is meant for the bag to be put on in messenger bag config (sideways), I'd much rather have where the bag was on the suitcase upright in the backpack config, and 2. when in messenger bag configuration the water bottle is on the bottom of the bag (handles are on top, on the other side), and every time I take the bag off the luggage handles the water bottle flies out and hits ... MoreI bought this bag to use on business travel trips as it has a luggage sleeve to attach to my roller suitcase. This would be much easier if the luggage sleeve was meant to store the bag upright, then the water bottle would be on the sides and less likely to fly off when you take the bag off the handle. The other option would be to put the water bottle on the same side as the handles.

Tech-Pro Aesthetic, Great Quality. Perfect for Work, Air Travel.

I have the Flight Pack 3 in Black.I used to work for a company that manufactured packs and I am a stickler for high quality materials and craftsmanship. That's a big part of what attracted me to AER, and the Flight pack 3 does not disappoint. After a year of heavy use it looks and feels brand new. It's got pockets for all of my needs heading to the office, including a mouse, travel keyboard, small coat and hat. It's also great for travel: I'm able to bring this as my 'Personal Item' on the plane as it fits easily below the seat in front of me, so I can bring a separate carry-on and almost never need to visit the turnstiles after a flight.I also love the aesthetic - business-y but youthful. Would be great for travel, but bulky for EDC
2 August 2024

For starters, this pack feels extremely durable. The X pack fabric is lightweight, hold it shape without being too stiff, looks really cool. The interior storage space and organization of this pack are not overdone—they are the right amount of organization for tech workers. However, in the end, this pack is too large to be my EDC. While it’s only 20 L, it feels larger, heavier, and too bulky to tote around on the daily basis. If I was actually in a travel by flight situation, it would make a great carry-on bag, providing ample space to store the items that are needed while providing easy access to everything inside. But in my view another downfall in the design is the intended versatility in options for holding the bag, since honestly the backpack configuration is ... MoreFor starters, this pack feels extremely durable. Overall, it’s a very well-made pack, but I’m not sure that it would beat out the City Pack series, since they have a smaller 14L for EDC and bigger (pro) version for travel.

excellent large edc bag
22 March 2024

First off let me say that this is my 3rd Aer backpack, and yes, I use all three daily. As an OTR driver I live out of my backpacks. The Flight 3 is my "leaving the truck for a day out" bag and carrys all the stuff I need just in case anything happens. It fits an amazing amount of stuff for its size and is comfortable to boot given how much it ends up weighing. I love that is is basically a baby sibling to my Travel 3 and in a pinch covers me for a weekend bag if needed. The bag has a noticeable body to the fabric and keeps its shape and stands up on its own which is what I love about Aer products. Can't say enough nice things about this bag and I know that I'll be using it for years to come and this will not be my last Aer purchase.
