Aesop Camellia Nut Facial Hydrating Cream 60ml

Last week, my IG Buddy was asking me about winter skincare. So I thought I'll post a review especially for her and my IG friends from the Northern Hemisphere who are also preparing for winter. ☃️ Throughout the winter season in Australia, I've been using the Aesop Primrose Facial Hydrating Cream as my skincare routine. I wanted to keep it simple this year and the description of this moisturiser said it's for winter, dry skin and very cold weather. ❄️ I can't be more impressed with this moisturiser. My skin feels instantly moisturised, soft and calm after using it without the need of a facial oil. Whilst it's moisturising, it doesn't feel heavy and absorbs quickly. It's made primarily of Sage Leaf, Rosemary Leaf, Lavender Stem and has a pleasant and relaxing aromatherapy smell. On top of that, you only need a small amount to feel completely moisturised and nourished. 🍃

Aesop is perfect for the healthy conscious consumer. I personally care what ingredients and chemicals are being absorbed into my body and when choosing products to use on the largest organ in my body (the skin) Aesop is a no brainer. I have recently been purchasing more generic and simple dermatologist recommended creams since I’ve noticed a lot of more expensive brands weren’t as gentle on my skin but I decided to give this one a try. It’s simple and smells of natural essential oils giving you a spa like experience (I generally prefer fragrance free due to irritation). This cream has not irritated my skin but as a person with oily/combination skin I do find it creating more oil as the day goes on. Botanical garden

I got a sample of this cream with one of my SpaceNK purcases. I used it in a summer time but I think it would be much better if I tried it in a fall or winter time. This cream smells like you enered in botanical garden. Very natural and discreet also it feels so nice on the skin. It has a nice consistency and it moisturise and hydrates nicely. It leaves a little bit greasy feeling on the skin but that is because it was a heat wave and more than 38 degrees outside so... I think that if I tried it in a fall winter time this cream would be a great win for my skin.

Gorgeous cream - rich and hydrating

I was blown away by this cream. It is a really rich and hydrating moisturiser and feels luxurious to apply. Smells botanical in a great way, maybe herby, but not overpowering and didn’t irritate my sensitive skin. Despite the richness, it absorbed easily and left my skin feeling plumped and super comfortable. Great price point too and definitely recommend. Best for dry areas I’d say.

Instant hydration for dry skin

This cream has light but rich texture feels instantly hydrating once applied. For such a hydrating cream it absorbs quickly into skin leaving a soft matte finish that’s not greasy which is unexpected as it contains a lot of oils. It has a wonderful uplifting scent it’s decidedly nutty for me but be warned if you dislike creams with a natural scent it’s quite strong. This cream is recommended for dry skin I think it works especially well for over dry or tight feeling skin I personally don’t apply it anywhere I’m prone to congestion as it contains coconut oil which breaks my skin out. If you are prone to breakouts or very sensitive I would try a sample first as I think the ingredients could be too rich. Lighter than expected

I love natural products and have tried some Aesop products before. They’re reasonably priced for the quality. I had a sample of this cream and was pleased to try it. I have sensitive skin and this didn’t disturb it at all. It feels luxurious as it’s quite rich but applies easily and sinks straight in. Considering it’s for dry skin, which I don’t suffer with, I did feel it was lighter than expected. My skin did feel a bit tight afterwards which I wouldn’t have anticipated

Love, Love, Love

I received this as a sample with a recent purchase and I am so pleased I was able to try it . I am not usually a fan of perfumed face products but this one won me over with its light ,natural ,nutty fragrance and pale colour . It is beautifully rich and hydrating and feels a real treat for the skin. It absorbed quickly into my skin and felt divine. Great for more mature skin. Will definitely be purchasing this as a winner for me.

New favourite

I love Aesop and to see it priced at a more affordable price I am relieved as well because I fell in love with this when I tried the sample. I think it would be suitable for oily skin like mine as it absorbs super quick and leaves it hydrated. No reaction and only little needed as starts off rich when you scoop it up. The fragrance stimulates my senses so I love it at night as gives me a relaxing and calming effect. Really pleased with this so will be getting the full size.

Nice cream matte finish

I received this as a sample with purchase and probably wouldn’t have thought to purchase independently partly due to look of packaging. It was a nice good weight cream it was rich and blended in well. It didn’t look shiny on my skin as I am prone to a oily T zone. What would be useful is larger sample sizes to buy from several of the products in the range to use as more of a ritual to try for a couple of weeks. Maybe maybe like a pick and mix it might make people more keen to splurge out on expensive items when they see what benefits they have as often results aren’t seen in a day or so.

Tried a sample from a previous purchase

This was a free sample so only enough to try twice. I have ridiculously fussy skin so I’m always wary of trying new products. I tried it first in the morning. I found it quite rich, although it sank in beautifully leaving no greasy feel or shine. It has a very essential oil smell at first which fades quickly to a kind of ‘hay’ smell which is honestly really lovely. I tried it next in the evening and my skin felt lovely and hydrated the next morning. Will I purchase a full sized product? Maybe. For me it was better suited to night time use and I prefer to use a retinol product then. But on my retinol rest days, this would be good, or on days when I feel I need a bit of hydration and I’m not wearing make up then I would use it.
