The C7 supercardioid mic is amazing. I love using this mic. It feels good. I have virtually no feedback and the capsule (24 carat gold) in it is amazing and works well with my voice. It also has very little handling noise so I can beat on it or swing it around without that unwanted noise coming through the pa system. Its also very durable (like I said, I swing it around and tend to hit things....sometimes)

AKG has long been the company of choice for recording and live applications. This addition will not disappoint! Good value and hard to beat in even difficult sound environments.

This mic is like having studio quality sound in your hand in a live setting. The C7 sports an open-space capsule which was designed to reduce feedback, and it works! I could get really close to the monitors and no squeal from the C7. And little bumps and taps didn't make it into my sound, just my vocals due to the shock absorbing suspension.

I use this mic for all applications. Besides singing in several bands, I also sing a cappella bass - the large diaphragm gives a full bodied sound with punch.
This is a great microphone for performing vocals. I often love the way condensers sound for live vocal performances. This is a great choice for vocalist if they can use phantom power while performing. All around good microphone. This review is from Ellis at Sam Ash in Richmond, Va.
While condenser microphones sound better than dynamic ones, their Omni directional manner makes it hard to use them live. With the AKG C7's polar pattern you can get the quality sound of a true condenser without any of the draw backs. The C7 has a clear tone which will out through the speakers quite nicely.
Have always used the SM 58 for vocals but it was just lacking that punch is was looking for. During a live performance with a great group of sound techs I was set up with the AKG C7 I was sold on it instantly.
Cuts through, clear, lacks lower frequencies and body a little but is suitable for live performances.#sweepstakes
Compared this C7 to the Shure Beta 87. Specs show it has more output, slightly flatter response, tighter supercardiod pattern, quieter noise floor and higher max SPL for the same retail price. I'm not disappointed. This is a great sounding mic. To check the pickup pattern I spoke into it and rotated it through 180 degrees from front to back and watch the meters on the mixer. For voice, it starts dropping at about 45 degrees from front and center and by the time I got to 90 degrees I was down by more than 30 db. From behind it was down another 5db again, but it was an unscientific test so probably was picking up room reflections. Using it at graduation to pick up audio for video it did a really good job of rejecting the room speakers and noise...it almost behaved ... MoreCompared this C7 to the Shure Beta 87. In my opinion, it's a better mic than the Beta 87 and has excellent sound quality and feedback rejection characteristics. It's an attractive mic, too. I plan to buy more.
Used this mic in different occasions for different styles on different voices (except grunting so far).It always sounded fine, a bit brighter than the good old SM58, but no harshness at all.And it looks and feels good too !
