Great mic

This is a great mic for what it is. It’s not my go-to, but I dig it on floor tom. I would imagine for live events, this mic is a great workhorse as well.

I used it on 3 different snare drums I quite like it's transparency .

Smooth sounding All-Around Mic for live

Currently, we're using this microphone for guitar in our live setup. It handles high SPL's well, sounds good, and being a little shorter in length than the competition, it allows us to place it in tighter spots. It is a good mic for guitar and toms. I wouldn't use it for vocals, however.

Superb

I've used the AKG D40 for years....it's a brilliant microphone, very similar to the Shure SM57 but with a smaller footprint. It doesn't have the presence spike of the SM57, which makes it more useful in a studio environment, as I get a reasonably flat signal. For live applications, I've seen a lot of big sound companies using it for micing guitar amps as well as drums, and it does the job. All metal - can survive a nuclear holocaust.

versatile mic

I can't believe this mic is going for so less..its a 100 % steal at this price. Have read countless reviews where the mic has been praised for its versatility andgeneral use. drums - percussion - wind instruments - guitar amps and even vocals. comes with a mount and storage pouch. has a wide frequency response and can take a really loud input without distorting. the quality is good and will serve most users well. note to bajaao - great service and delivery before time.

very good dynamic

Another winner from AKG. I've record some drums with this mic and I like it better than the classic SM57. The included rim clip makes it even more appealing (one less mic stand to set up)
