AKG K72 Closed Back Studio Headphones
The K72 from AKG is a closed-back and over-the-ear studio headphone that features professional-grade 40mm drivers and a self-adjusting headband that is light and comfortable. It can be used with a broad range of playback devices in applications for rehearsals, recording studios, live stages, and more. The K72 headphones are built with a single-sided nondetachable 3.5mm TRS 9.8' cable and include a 1/4" screw-on adapter. The frequency response is 16 Hz to 20 kHz and provides an accurate monitoring solution, which delivers an extended low-frequency that gives definition to kick drums and bass guitars. Furthermore, since earpads are usually the first components to show wear, these are replaceable to protect your investment over time. Finally, whether you're tracking the hook or mixing background harmonies, the K72 is designed to provide hours of comfort.

plug and play, and it sounds great for its price. i only wish i knew just how big it was gonna be. i can't find a good fit for it on my head as it just won't seal properly bcs of its size. my takstar pro 82's are miles ahead in terms of comfort, but at least i know now the perfect headphone cup type for me. learning experience. no stars docked bcs it's just a personal issue, product works perfectly fine.

These were purchased for my daughter in order to hear backing tracks while play her drums and also for her Zoom lessons. She is very pleased with them. They were a Christmas present so she has had plenty of time to make her mind up. The delivery was really quick and arrived in tact. Thank you.

I bought these primarily for long-term comfort so I can wear them in the office at work, and their light weight and the self-adjusting suspension band make them very comfortable. The ear cups are large enough to cover your entire ear, and _just_ deep enough to not press against them. After a few wears they have conformed to the shape of my head nicely. Sound quality wise, they are amazing! Keeping in mind that these are designed to not colour the sound, so if you're coming from pretty much any pair of consumer headphones that do tend to push the bass and scoop the mids, you may find the bottom end underwhelming for bass-heavy electronic music, but for live instruments and pretty much everything else they give a bright clarity you may well have not experienced ... Overall I'm very pleased with the sound quality and listening experience for the price. Manny's managed to get them delivered _before_ the estimated delivered date too, nice one, cheers!

Im my experience AKG make some great stuff. But when I bought these to temporarily replace (because they still work and are repairable, Unlike this pair) my AKG K240 mkIIs, As well as have a pair of what was ADVERTISED as studio close back headphones. I am quite disappointed with this product and Ill try to explain why. First thing, they are very light, which might be a point youd either want or not, theyre petty sturdy but quite tacky and cheap feeling in a lot of the parts. Especially the speakers which whoops be ok if your listening to podcasts or dont care about how your music sounds, but I dont think is anywhere near studio quality. Especially the speakers which whoops be ok if your listening to podcasts or dont care about how your music sounds, but I dont think is anywhere near studio quality. If now for the sound quality, then the poor sound isolation. For a closed back pair of headphone the cups are very thin and plastic, dont isolate sound nearly enough to be used as proper studio closed back, and, at least for me are so incredibly uncomfortable after a few hours I cannot wear them any more as the cups arent deep enough, the plastic to flimsy and the padding not adequate (this may be different for you, but be aware of this if youre still thinking of buying this POS). A couple more things, the cable is directly connected to the Left cup and cannot be removed and replaced via the mini XLR system. So once the cable goes these headphones are literal trash Very disappointed in this product but I guess thats what you get when you buy the name without looking at the product. Tl;dr Cheap and pretty shoddy. But these is you DONT care about sound quality, comfort, or longevity. If you do care about those in a pair of headphones, get some k240s.
These AKG K72 headphones are not good audio quality. I'm not sure what other reviewers were listening to when they gave positive reviews. I bought on sale and they were inexpensive at about $28, and online Soundguys have tested and show that the audio is very uneven across the frequency range. Basically, these K72's make audio sound 'muddy'. I have compared with my old Sony MDR-7506 and my Audio Technica ATH-M35. Huge difference in quality compared to these K72's. Listening to audio on the computer, the audio sounds like there is too much low midrange and very little in the high midrange and high. AKG failed here in my opinion. My Sony MDR-7506's I use with my Kurzweil piano and all the nice 'sparkle' of the piano tones that I hear on my Sony's are completely ... MoreThese AKG K72 headphones are not good audio quality. So anyone looking at these headphones is probably in the same boat that I was. Looking to get a nice pair of headphones that don't break the bank. So i did that and I ended up buying these. My use for them was for my electric drum set. now these headphones are HORRIBLE to be used with a drum set, and for that matter I would say musical instruments as a whole. There is ZERO sound isolation, so you hear all ambient noiSes (i.e the drum sticks hitting the rubber crash symbols) it is very frustrating trying to play a set and haRDLY BE ABLE TO HEAR THE MUSIC OVER AMBIENT NOICES.Now if you were just gettign these to listen to music or watch a movie on your computer, then yeah these would work fine, and thats the only reason I gave 2 stars. I wish I did that, would have saved me the hassle of going back to exchange it.
Overall:I bought these in a pinch as headphones to tide me over until I could get something nicer, and they sounded like listening to something from the other side of a wall made of water. There is no resolution, the tuning is abysmally wonky, anything mixed on these will sound wrong on any decent setup. While they're built in a way that basically ticks the boxes at this price range, nothing about it audio-wise is good, so it is impossible to recommend.
I was after a pair of low priced budget headphones that I could use at home for a little guitar / piano practice and also the occasional 'throw down some song ideas on my digital recorder '.As I didnt want to end up with something entirely crappy , I did a little research and came across these . I went for an 'over ear ' design ,as I find over ear far more comfortable than 'in' ear or 'on' ear .Hey , they are not pro studio quality, either in build or sound , but I had no reason to expect them to be . If I had spent a few hundred pounds ,yes my expectations would have been way higher. However ,with that said , for the price (less than £30 !) , I really cannot fault them . They are a really great sounding pair of head phones for very little money , extremely ...
