Great bang for buck 1440p monitor. Watched a couple of reviews before purchasing so I had my expectations in line. When the monitor arrived and everything was set up, I was honestly blown away. Granted I was gaming on an aging 1080p 60hz Dell prior to this. Purchase process was easy and once the order was placed the portal was very transparent about where my order was in the process. From the time I ordered it only took about 3 business days to arrive. One criticism I have is that I would have like to have seen the monitor arrive in discrete packaging. It was left at my door in just its standard box with the Alienware graphics all over it. I live in a low crime area so not a huge deal for me, but I could see this an open invitation for an opportunistic thief.

I had the AW2723DF (G-sync version) with another 27 inch Dell monitor. Unfortunately the Dell monitor's screen broke and I needed a second monitor. The AW2723DF was a little bit pricier and when I looked up the reviews for the AW2724DM, I thought it would be comparable and an upgrade to the previous Dell monitor I had. I worked out well. The monitor is great and it is up to par if not better than the AW2723DF. The only thing I didn't like was that the rear of the monitor on the DF had a cover for the rear for better cable management while this one didn't. The other thing I noticed is that the bottom portion of this monitor has a lip with Alienware tagged on it. Another notable difference but didn't affect how I rated the monitor was the back of the monitor is black ... MoreI had the AW2723DF (G-sync version) with another 27 inch Dell monitor. If I want to upgrade in the future, I may try to upgrade my third monitor to the Alienware QD-OLED but for now these both work great for a little bit of gaming, productivity and everything else in between.

The refresh rate, pixel density, contrast, colour gamut and screen are all very good. There's many options and customisation choices. I think it's one of the best 27" IPS monitor's available right now and keeps up the high standard that Dell/Alienware are known for. I spent quite some time looking at many different monitors before choosing this and it's perfect in every way for me. It's capable in many different applications from processing static image data sheets, all types of gaming, photo/video editing, design/graphic work and much more, it handles everything smooth, precise and accurately. This is an excellent monitor that has been carefully crafted with lot's of experience and expertise behind it. Highly recommended.

I did a lot of research, 12+hours, before I purchased this monitor. This monitor is primarily being used with a PS5. I play a lot of FPS games and I use this monitor like a TV. Although the HDMI 2.1 is not full spec, the PS5 runs at 120hz with VRR flawlessly. 1-2ms g-g works great with no ghosting or artifacts. Source tone mapping is available on console mode. The option to upscale to 4k at 60hz is there if you want that option. Overall I am extremely happy with this purchase. This monitor outperforms the price point. Pros: - Beautiful and very close factory color calibration with SDR and HDR. - Full compatibility with consoles - Minimal Backlight bleed - Fantastic viewing angles - The semi matte finish has minimal glare - The blue light reduction is incredible for ... Pros: - Beautiful and very close factory color calibration with SDR and HDR. - Full compatibility with consoles - Minimal Backlight bleed - Fantastic viewing angles - The semi matte finish has minimal glare - The blue light reduction is incredible for playing FPS games in a dark room. My wife is prone to blue light headaches and she has had zero issues. - Great HDR for the price range - Amazing stand that is rock solid - Alienvision & FX are nice additions once I got my gaming laptop hooked up with the AWCC software - Build quality is top notch and the warranty is fantastic Cons: - Audio out would be a nice addition - The UI has a learning curve (read the manual that you can download online) - FX lighting could be way better (larger icons, brighter, or placed higher up to reflect off the wall) - An Additional HDMI slot would be great
I was looking for a fast IPS monitor to handle gaming as well as photo editing and ordered the AW2724DM. Admittedly, it took some time to tweak the settings to my liking. I am completely satisfied with color reproduction and refresh rate via DisplayPort. Being able to overclock the monitor is a bonus. The joystick makes changing settings on the fly a breeze and I appreciate the fact that I could set my own color scheme for the detailing on the rear of the panel. The order process was straight-forward and the order arrived on the estimated date.
Extremely happy with the monitor. First of all, colours are really vivid, giving you a depth that I was not expecting to see in such panel. Assembly was very fast, I used Vesa to mount it onto my desk. The integrated usb ports helped me with moving the Pc under the desk, saving a lot of space (ports are used for BT received and my keyboard receiver). I liked the idea of the mini joystick for the settings, and the choice and amount of ports (hdmi 2.1 not needed as the monitor is not 4k). 120Hz works wonders in my desktop pc.
RE: AW2724DM This time I decided to use a brand which is all about quality, quality of design and quality of the build, the specs would come second although in this case they too would be on top. I previously used an esports ready gaming monitor 240hz, 0.5ms response time no frills FHD VA panel. With my new Alienware (set at 180hz refresh rate and “extreme†response time) I expected superior image quality, superior vibrant color and decent performance but I didn’t expect all that and consistent superior performance but that’s what I got! There’s nothing scientific in the methodology used, just observations and instinct, the settings were the same for both monitors, using VRR the FPS was approximately the same as well, the GPU was an RTX 4070. There’s nothing scientific in the methodology used, just observations and instinct, the settings were the same for both monitors, using VRR the FPS was approximately the same as well, the GPU was an RTX 4070. I used two games; Halo Infinite and Doom Eternal; the results were consistent, better performance and higher scoring using the Alienware monitor, you can feel the difference between the two, the Alienware was faster, smoother and more responsive. Out of curiosity I also included my 144hz gaming monitor (with 1ms response time) and the results were same, Alienware is truly “head and shoulders†above the competition. With the AW2724DM (with the right setup) “you can have your cake and eat it too†from heavy duty competitive gaming to professional creative work to everyday use such as streaming.
I like how I can customize the light behind it. Height is adjustable and it a plus for me. I compared other monitors in same price range and this one has the more colors to it. Others have about some millions, I remember this one was about 1.(something) billions. Warning: It doesn't have built in speakers. I use my own speakers anyway so it doesn't bother me. Great price for great product.
The monitor provides excellent images. However, "the Devil is in the Details". The included cables vary in length. The shortest is the USB-C to HDMI. I have my desktop placed on the floor adjacent to my desk and the monitor roughly centered on the desk. This cord is about 1 meter in length and wouldn't reach between them. So, I had to purchase another cord which took 4-5 days to arrive thereby delaying when I could actually start using the new machine. Also, there's no mention on the Dell site that there is any sound source or speakers available. Well, there aren't. I tried to use a USB-A connected sound bar from a previous computer. Well, it lit up put provided no sound. I finally bought some inexpensive speakers. BTW, there's no provision made for mounting a ... MoreThe monitor provides excellent images. Great monitor with beautiful display and really fine detail. Packaging was very functional and easy to unpack and assemble. Has excellent vertical adjustment and easily pivots to portrait position. No operating instructions included and was very frustration to learn the many variables. Hint: the toggle switch is not the on/off button. The power light turns it on and off.
