Amazing pan, but bottom scratches super easy. I’ve been cooking on All-Clad for decades. They’re amazing pots and pans. My only complaint is that the bottom scratches super easy. On my first cook I made steaks. While basting I tilted the pan, as one does, which instantly made the shiny new pan completely scratched up on the bottom. Instructions say not to move or scoot the pan while cooking. I don’t know too many cooks that doesn’t move a pan during cooking on a cooking grate. Bottoms scratch over time, but it was sad to see it happen so quickly. However, if you can get over that I’m sure these pans will last an extremely long time. The pic is after my first cook.

About ten years ago, we bought a set of all clad pots and pans and have been extremely happy with them. They were solid and clearly built to last. I recently warped the saute pan (totally my fault) and purchased this as a replacement. I was extremely disappointed at how dramatically the quality has diminished. The pan was much lighter and thinner than our original set. The lid was a flimsy joke. It seems All Clad has taken the same approach of many manufacturers--cutting corners to increase profit and hoping the name on the pan will maintain its customer base. You would be better served buying generic cookware at 1/3 of the cost.

Product is fine, the rivets get dirty fast. I would return this pan and the 12" version but the return policy is the worst. They have a 100% satisfaction guaranteed with the fine print that if used they take 30% off the top plus a $10-20 shipping charge back basically a 50% off to return the product. How on earth is that 100% guarantee. If All-Clad is confident in their product they should not have an issue giving a full refund even if used. I don't understand how anyone can say if they are satisfied without actually testing the product. Would have given 4 stars as the product is decent (minus one star for the rivets on the pans when competitors have them Rivet-less now and minus two stars for horrible return policy)

I've had an 8" pan for 2 years, and a 10" pan for 1 year.I have no complaints at all.I am careful about what sponges I use to clean it with.I use scotch-brite BLUE sponges (not the green), and it cleans the pan fine with no issues, and no scratches.I'm not going to say food doesn't stick, but I have a few tricks that allow me to get it clean with minimal issues, several tips from this websites cleaning recommendations.I had issues with scrambled eggs sticking terribly, but that was my fault.Premix your yokes/egg whites in a separate bowl.Butter in the pan, drop your pre-mixed eggs into the melted butter.Keep pan on medium heat (I have a glass stove top). When you see the edge of the egg being cooked, pull the cooked egg into the middle of the pan ... MoreI've had an 8" pan for 2 years, and a 10" pan for 1 year.I have no complaints at all.I am careful about what sponges I use to clean it with.I use scotch-brite BLUE sponges (not the green), and it cleans the pan fine with no issues, and no scratches.I'm not going to say food doesn't stick, but I have a few tricks that allow me to get it clean with minimal issues, several tips from this websites cleaning recommendations.I had issues with scrambled eggs sticking terribly, but that was my fault.Premix your yokes/egg whites in a separate bowl.Butter in the pan, drop your pre-mixed eggs into the melted butter.Keep pan on medium heat (I have a glass stove top). When you see the edge of the egg being cooked, pull the cooked egg into the middle of the pan (two strokes of the spurdle).Wait a little bit more for more to be cooked, and then wait, and by then most egg should be cooked, and move the uncooked to the pan until complete. It keeps the pan soooooo much cleaner, might stick in a small spot or 2, but cooking that way helped me ALOT.Sometimes meat will stick, like sausage patties for example, but right after I remove the meat from the pan, even if it looks stuck, I run the pan under cold water and "swoosh" the water around, and due to the heat differential and the bubbles from the heat it will oftentimes pull any burnt residue off the bottom of the pan. If you let it dry, it is a BEAR to remove.Anyway Good luck!
The cookware is 5 star - the customer service follow up is 0 star. There is a black spot that appeared the first time using one of the pans. Nothing burnt or stuck, and I cannot get the spot out. I wrote to All-Clad for some help after trying vinegar, BKF, Dawn Powerwash, soaking, etc. All-Clad replied that something had burnt or stuck, and it was not covered under warranty. That is not what I asked for. I asked for any tips or tricks to get this spot out. I wrote back again stating that nothing had burnt or stuck, and I simply asked for assistance in removing this spot without ruining the finish on the pan. It is 8 days later as I am writing this, and I still have not heard back from them.
Besides the confusing nomenclature for existing owners wanting to expand their classic All-Clad sets, the d3 series cookware matches the quality and properties of the previous (and for some specialty cookware - current) all clad stainless mirror finish products. Though more affordable than the d5, the d3 set heats up faster and is a better option for regular use. The mirrored d5 and d3 series match each other aesthetically, with the d5 being heavier and and retaining heat for longer. It is said that the d5 series cooks more evenly. In practice, the d3 line does a very good job of evenly cooking, and if I weren’t pleased with the performance of the d3, I would look to the copper line rather than adding more bulk to the cookware. If you are matching older anodized, ... MoreBesides the confusing nomenclature for existing owners wanting to expand their classic All-Clad sets, the d3 series cookware matches the quality and properties of the previous (and for some specialty cookware - current) all clad stainless mirror finish products. In practice, the d3 line does a very good job of evenly cooking, and if I weren’t pleased with the performance of the d3, I would look to the copper line rather than adding more bulk to the cookware. If you are matching older anodized, copper, or brushed stainless cookware, you might want to consider ha1, d5 brushed or copper sets, respectively. Of those lines, the HA1 line doesn’t appear to have the same quality or manufacturing as previous anodized models, which led me to donate my older limited cookware for a unified mirror stainless look. There is anecdotal evidence that big box retailer’s collections of d3 are not up to snuff, but buying directly from All-Clad.com seemed to present better pricing and decent free shipping options. This set focuses on pots, which is great if your are adding to a collection. There are few pot-based sets available in stores, probably because pans are cheaper and retailers want to WOW you with the number of pieces rather than what pieces you are getting. I didn’t need another set that came with 4 fry pans… I don’t even need 4 fry pans. You may find that this 7 piece set along with a pan set match your price points and needs better than a large single set.Besides this set and what I’ve donated, I own the d3 1 qt pot, 8 inch fry pan, and 8 qt pasta cooker, and some older mirrored stainless 10 in frypans. The lids on the d3 are thin and heat up, sometimes requiring a pot holder to open, but the cookware itself is all flawless. My favorite pan that is t included in this 7 piece set is the 8” fry pan, which, once seasoned and with additional butter during cooking, makes perfect omelets (it along with the 1 qt pot play with scale and looks great on the pot rack). I also use the pasta cooker (not included in this set) more than the 6 qt pot because of the strainer. This pot seems to be part of the stainless mirror line, which matches but isn’t part of the d3 line. I did notice the pots developing a rainbow hue after their first uses, but vinegar (or simply cooking a sauce that includes vinegar) cleared them up. It’s possible these needed to be washed better before initial use as the problem has not returned. At the price I paid, this set was an unbeatable deal.
Received a package couple days ago. like a set a lot except couple quality issues.Pro: like pot & pan size set that doesn’t duplicate from owned few 3 ply universal pan, multi pot , mini pots, insert steamer, roasting pan, non stick fry pans already. so far doesn’t have any issues from previous purchasing. They are performing good when makes a big pot of bone broth with a good weighted lid and heating in fairly good time & roasting meats in a good constructed roasting pan.Con: seems to be missing a high quality and details little bit in this set. 2qt sauce pot lid doesn’t fit the rim of pot that rocking on one side to other side. It maybe cause by uneven height or shape of rim pot or lid. Others, observed very small discoloration spot of the edge of pot & pan ... MoreReceived a package couple days ago. like a set a lot except couple quality issues.Pro: like pot & pan size set that doesn’t duplicate from owned few 3 ply universal pan, multi pot , mini pots, insert steamer, roasting pan, non stick fry pans already. so far doesn’t have any issues from previous purchasing. I didn't unpack and start using this cookware until the new range arrived. Being an induction cooktop, some of my current cookware had to be replaced. Yesterday was the first day the new ones were in use, so this review could be repeated again in 6 months to be fair. But even yesterday, using saucepans, I can feel the quality of them. They are a good weight without being too heavy, the pot handles do not conduct heat. The lids do, of course. So keep that in mind. They clean easily, and with an induction cooktop, cooking goes much faster, and the cookware is the best choice for me, after researching for nearly 2 weeks. And Windsor is just down the road should I be ordering more. The day I ordered these, the sales representative could not have been more helpful. Received this as a gift and it's absolutely terrible on induction stoves -- recently renovated our kitchen and put in a Wolf induction cooktop which works great except for this pan. Unfortunately, this 6 quart pan doesn't cook evenly at all. I love to make a lot of cutlets, so in theory this pan would be great because of it's sheer size. It fits on top of my larger burner perfectly, not undersized at all, but it cooks the chicken so UNEVENLY. It will brown the innermost pieces (especially if there's a piece directly in the center of the pan) but all food that resides furthest from the center barely gets browned -- so frustrating for a product that isn't cheap! All sizzle here, no steak as they say! SO DISAPPOINTED
Wish I could have returned these asap, but husband always wanted all clad set of pots/pans. Only 2 good things about these-they heat quickly and evenly, and they are pretty. Bad-They are EXTREMELY heavy for their size, their pot/saucepan handles are SUPER Unergonomic; narrow and set at weird angles, require hot pads to lift/remove lids when they are hot because handles are metal. Handles look like they were designed 100 years ago before nice big grippy handles were invented. The shape of the lid is flat/recessed, so if you have food that will cook down ie vegetables, you need a bigger (more $$) pot or pan. My old set had domed lids so you never had to worry about putting the lid on. And all the pans are a good inch smaller in diameter than my old set, AND are about ... MoreWish I could have returned these asap, but husband always wanted all clad set of pots/pans. When the holidays come, these are going in garage and old set is coming back out because there’s NO WAY my arthritic hands will be able to handle them full of food.
