Where do I even start? I loved my original pair of Wool Runner Mizzles and wore them to death. These Wool Runners 2, however, are such a nosedive in quality it's absurd. The claim of a roomier toebox is a complete lie (they're actually much narrower), they've clearly used way less wool in these shoes (the switch from being made in Korea to made in Vietnam is a big hint here), the sole is cheap chunky foam with glue seeping out where it meets the upper, and the overall comfort of the shoe is a massive downgrade.Just another example of a company making a fantastic product, selling out (aka going public) and switching to making cost-cutting junk.

Ah, the dangers of online retail, for a wool tragic determined to support the concept: I have 3 pairs now (Wool Dasher Mizzle 2 size 13 and 12, and Wool Runner size 12). With the absence of convenient retail outlets here in Sydney I first purchased the Dasher Mizzle 2 size 13 (I take a US 13 in other brands). Turned out too long and tight a fit around the mid-foot (for long thin feet?), and the upper has a 'cardboard'-type flexion: it has developed a crease line and makes an audible 'creak' during wear. Then read the fine print and learned I can't return them as under the Allbirds returns policy the item must be unworn. Then tried the size 12, and the mid-foot tightness is far too great, but can't return them either since I've worn them. I love the colour and the shape of the new design. But I have a major gripe with the inside of the back of the shoe where heel slides in, it starts pilling on the very first day and continues pilling every day after that. The older model doesn’t have that problem. Please sort it out , would have given a five star but this earns a three star only. And can I please, please request for more fun colours? I own seven woman’s wool runners and loved them all, the colours you have now are totally boring. Bring back all you lovely fun colours like so many of us are asking.

The shoes look fantastic and are surprisingly breathable and comfortable in 30°C weather. However, after just two months of use, they're already showing heavy signs of wear. The edge of the sole has started to fray and wear down from walking, and the front part of the sole is starting to show cracking vertical lines where the shoe bends. Overall, I'm still pretty happy with them, but they're not as comfortable as I would have expected for walking days of 15k+ steps. Will have to see how well they hold up for the rest of the summer.
I've taken these on several work trips since getting them, and overall they are great! Easy to get on and off through security, comfortable for walking around and wearing for long periods of time.My one 'but' is about the tongue - Frequently the edges of the tongue fold over on the bottom and/or sides when you put the shoes on. This creates a sore point and has to be readjusted. Once it lies flat, you are back into full comfort. A slight adjustment to how the tongue is sewn/connected and these would be a total homerun.
Returned . I’m a between size and too big. My last pair were a man’s size after trying a woman’s in my size. This should be explained as they are the same shoe. There was visible glue around joins on both shoes. For the price not acceptable. I preferred original style too. I love they are warm though. Might try again. Oh and in NZ you advertise them and seldom have anywhere near full size range . Thanks. Oh and still waiting for acknowledgement they were returned by courier a week ago
The texture and feel of the wool is fantastic, overall impression on the build quality is top notch (hopefully it will last me a long time). The overall shape of the shoes is ok, doesn’t fit my duck foot perfectly but that’s just a personal gripe. The sole is a bit weird, while it does provide genuine support around my arch and I have enough room at the toe box area. There’s this strange “step” sensation where the back of the feet are raised considerably and quite noticeably compare to the front. I could also feel the ridge of the “step” in the middle. Overall comfort on a long walk is not as good as the first generation.
These are comfortable. The reason why I have given them three stars is because the sizing is so variable between different styles. My last purchase were also wool shoes but they were a perfect fit even though both are a size 8. The wool runner 2 are a size too big. Reading previous reviews about exchanging shoes and reading your exchange policy myself has confirmed that you have made it as difficult and off-putting as possible to go ahead and exchange. You have a great product but unfortunately I won't be purchasing again online.
This is my 3rd pair of wool runners. When I first put on the wool runner 2 I noticed a lower profile and a bit more structured shoe. The tongue is bigger and the footbed is really comfortable under my slightly high arch. The weren't as comfortable on the heel right out of the box, but they haven't caused blisters. I will wear for a bit with socks before I try with bare feet. The material is very durable, as is the sole. I wear a US7.5 which is my actual shoe size and the fit is perfect. I don't think I will ever stop loving Allbirds.
Ugly shoe. Terrible dimensions. Sole unbalanced with upper. Incidentally colour range available is less desirable than before the company transitioned to its present NZ based management. What a terrible business decision. Plus why can’t I order from the US store as the NZ store can’t apparently provide the same level of product…. . I used to be a great supporter of AllBird. No more.
