APC always work. Earlier I bought a cheaper UPS of other brand to my disappointment. I went ahead to purchase this APC UPS and it worked like magic on my Mac mini. Mac mini recognises APC UPS immediately via the USB communication port. Just like that. This is a five-star product. Hooray. Congratulations.

I have used APC UPSs in the past in my professional life and they were the obvious choice to protect a home desktop that also runs as a server.It was really easy to set up I had it running in half an hour from opening the packaging. It comes with two M-F IEC leads.The PowerChute Personal Edition software installed easily on Windows 10 and does the job effectively, putting the system into hibernation either after a specified number of minutes on battery or when only a specified number of minutes of battery remains.My one disappointment (minus 1 star) was that having hibernated the system there does not seem to be a wakeup signal from the UPS USB port when power is restored and stable. I am contemplating a workaround using a separately powered device to send a wakeup packet to the machine ten minutes after power up.Otherwise I am happy with my purchase and may well replicate for other systems..

I bought this from Comms \Express, whose seerrice was quite exceptional. They offered a huge range of UPS equipemnt, and I chose this APC model because I had had APC before (stillk using one that I bought abroad that has continental sockets.UNnfrtunately, the machine arrived without a mains lead. APC said it didn't come with a mains lead, but Comms EXpress sent one free gratis. (Top notch firm!). The battery was almost impossible to connect, and the IEC sockets were poor at rataining the IEC plugs in the rear - a slight touch was enough to stop power to my computer - the very opposite of what I bought the UPS for! Only in use for a week, but as good and easy to set up as my other APC products. Hooked up to. Synology Nas, which instantly recognised the UPS without issue.

APC Back UPS

Small and flexible UPS when you just want to secure a single computer. Have outgrown this now, so use it instead to secure the 3D printer. It is also very easy to change the battery in, which you should do every 3-5 years.

Excellent performance, great value for money

I use this UPS to protect a Synology NAS with expansion unit, the Swisscom Internet-Box 2 and a couple of 8-port Ethernet switches in case of power interruption.

Nightmare cabling

I will know if it works only the day we get hit by a lightning and see which equipment has survived. For now, the power is too low as every time I am using a printer, it beeps... and beeps.... Seems OK with 1 computer and some phones charging.
