It does the job. But why no power cable for the UPS? That is a ridiculous omission. Fortunately I was able to find a spare cable with a kettle type plug.I also dislike the fact that you cannot buy a version with UK 3 pin sockets to plug you kit into the UPS (as my previous two APC UPS did). Instead, you must buy an IEC C14 Connector Plug to UK 13Amp 1 Gang Socket for each piece of kit to be plugged in. This makes for a really messy clutch of dangling cables and sockets with the inherent problem that the weight of each one pulls at the C14 connector on the UPS and can make a solid connection more difficult. However, everything is now set up and the UPS has not given any problems since.

It's near impossible to realize that the Backup PRO line consists of too similar looking but wildly different units. The BN lines have the unusable for my purposes stepped output, I thought I was getting the features of the BR unit. This is outright fraud on APC / Sam's part

It does make a high pitched noise when on full charge but when done it's totally silent.Works perfectly with the synology server.
I use this UPS to protect a Synology NAS with expansion unit, the Swisscom Internet-Box 2 and a couple of 8-port Ethernet switches in case of power interruption.

This unit works well for its intended purpose. I got about 35 minutes on a 32" LCD TV, a wifi router, a 5 port switch, a Dish Satellite receiver /DVE and an external (sleeping) HD on the DVR. On my wife's Celeron PC + a 22" LCD monitor I got about 45 minutes.I am in the boondocks in OH and we have a LOT of power issues. These units work well in this environment.
