APC BX1600MI-AZ Back-UPS 1600VA - 230V Ups

I needed something of higher capacity than the SmartUPS 550 that had failed in my lab (yes, it did warn me that it was getting overloaded). This unit is more basic (no digital displays, much more difficult access to battery when it needs replacing) but has twice the capacity at a similar price point. Loads connect via standard power plugs rather than IEC sockets. Quality looks good, I expect a similar longevity as other consumer APC products (2-8 years in my situation, depending on application and what the power company throws at us), time will tell.

APC are one of the leaders in UPS technology. this particular unit looks great and has a relatively small footprint for it's capacity. easy to set up with standard plugs on the back to help with cable management.

A nice and neat UPS, has worked well since installing, and kept machines running over 2 power failures seamlessly.Only negative, the power consumption monitor software does not measure cumulative power use. Minor issue but it would be a nice feature.
