Kilimanjaro is my first cat and he has cost us some expensive trips to the vet with some stomach upsets. He was given probiotics, antibiotics, was prescribed diet food. We had to take him of his much loved Iams and wet food and started feeding him Royal Canin Digestive. Things were going well, but he was only going to the litter box every other day and it was extremely dry. It didn't look very healthy. I spent a lot of time at the local pet shop trying to find the right kind of food for him and saw Applaws. No grain and a high percentage of protein might actually work to make his digestive tract work properly. I bought it even knowing there was a high probability of him not liking it. He started gaining a healthy weight, was back to being his playful self and had no more problems in the box. I'm sure if my cat could rate it, it would give it 3 stars- the bag is too big and he likes a bit variety, but I also give him Applaw's wet food once in a while (which he gobbles down quickly) to keep things a bit more interesting.

We've really noticed a difference between Applaws and other popular dry foods. The meat content is much higher so they need less of it and don't beg in between feeding times. It offers complete nutrition so you don't need anything else, my preference is some wet food though for water content & variety. Watch out you don't over feed as it looks like very little compared to Purina & Go Cat. 60g a day feeds a 5kg cat so it lasts much longer. Silky coats, lots of energy, bright eyed and happy. Highly recommended.

I bought this cat dry food, grain-free, for my cat who was having some allergic reactions to other brands. I was skeptical at first, but I noticed a big difference after a few weeks. He was more energetic, playful, and happy. His coat was shinier and softer, and his stools were firmer and less smelly. He also loved the taste of the food, and would always finish his bowl. I'm very impressed with this product and I would recommend it.

Been feeding this to my cat since adopting him last year, and it is alot cheaper here than in high street pet stores. Applaws has high meat content (80% in this food) and healthy ingredients in their foods unlike some other cheaper brands on the market. He has always eaten it absolutely fine with no problems. I get the 7.5kg bags which last a good few months. The sack of food is big but not too heavy to put where you put your food in storage and it keeps very well in a sealable pack.

I have a maine coon who was badly treated and massively underweight in her previous home. We started with another brand of pet food that was also breed specific but this just went straight through our cat which in turn made the house stink and she didn't gain any weight. The vet suggested this brand (despite her surgery selling the other brand) and we haven't looked back. We've bought several flavours, this seems to be her favourite . She's gaining weight really well and now looks healthy. Before food: 4 bowls of dry food + 8 tins Now applaws: 1 bowl of dry food +4 tins It's expensive but as it feels her up more, we're spending less in the long run. You can see a positive difference between our cat and the cat next door who has standard supermarket food.

Cats won't touch it
8 March 2023

I have 3 cats and not one of them will eat this so we cannot recommend. I had high hopes for this due to the higher meat content but they're just not interested in it at all and even choose to eat their old wet food breakfast instead - they never normally do that.

Cheaper Grain Free Food
22 February 2024

One of my cats has a very sensitive stomach and seems to do well on some grain free foods. However, whenever we find one that one cat likes, my other won't eat it. Mine are grazers and do not like being fed at certain times and prefer to eat small amounts through the day so it was important we found a food both liked. They both seem to eat this no problem. I just wish it came in bigger bags. Certainly less vomit around our house now since my poorly cat is on it.

Listen to your cat when it comes to food. My cat likes change and pairing this good up with the wet food has been very successful. Cat now eats more per day

Good quality, high protein food
6 March 2024

My cat is a reluctant meat ester, so the vet was a little concerned about her protein intake. I tried a couple of the higher protein ones, one she totally refused, one she loved but upset her stomach terribly. This one in chicken and the salmon work. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.
