Apple iPad Pro 12.9" 2021 Wifi (A2378) (256GB, Space Gray)

As someone who has owned the iPad Pro 12.9 inch 5th generation for the past six months, I can confidently say that it is an incredibly powerful device that can handle just about any task I throw at it. The combination of the M1 chip and the ProMotion display make for a seamless and fast experience, whether I'm browsing the web, working on documents, or editing photos and videos. The improved speakers are also a noticeable upgrade, providing excellent sound quality for both media consumption and video calls. One minor drawback of the iPad Pro is the cost, which can be quite steep, especially if you opt for the higher storage options and accessories like the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil as I did. One minor drawback of the iPad Pro is the cost, which can be quite steep, especially if you opt for the higher storage options and accessories like the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil as I did. Additionally, while the new mini-LED display technology is certainly impressive, it may not be noticeable to the average user and could potentially lead to issues with uniformity over time. Overall, though, if you're in the market for a high-end tablet that can serve as a laptop replacement, the iPad Pro 12.9 is definitely worth considering.

I absolutely love my IPad Pro, I updated from an older smaller IPad and I’m so happy I did. I use this over my IPhone and I use this daily. It’s basically like an all in one , tablet , phone ( I use FaceTime, Messenger and Instagram video chat to talk to family and friends unless I leave my house) , music , TV MacBook camera/video. It has a really nice size screen to see my daughter grandson’s, or to watch something on YouTube or Streaming service. I live in pain so I sometimes live in my bed and this has been such a luxury to have and connect with people who understand and since I don’t get to enjoy stuff I once did this has been a life saver for me. I really get a lot of use out of this. I’d say my only Con and it’s not even really one is how big this ... MoreI absolutely love my IPad Pro, I updated from an older smaller IPad and I’m so happy I did. I really get a lot of use out of this. I’d say my only Con and it’s not even really one is how big this is, but I don’t mind because having a bigger screen also is nice because this is my personal TV. If you get the magic keyboard then I think that you won’t mind the size either. The camera on this is actually really nice as well. I would definitely recommend this to so many different people. It has so much capabilities that I’m still learning. So if you’re thinking about getting this I would.

I upgraded my iPad from the IPad Air 2 to the 5th Gen IPad Pro 12.9 several months ago and it’s the best decision I ever made. It’s sooo expensive but I mean all Apple products are. I got the 2nd gen Apple Pencil with it and I fell in love. The bigger display area. The quality of it not to mention the ability to write on it and it can even feel like writing on paper if you use the right screen protector. For my I don’t like paper feel protectors simply because they make images and videos look grainy and half the reason I enjoy my iPad is for the huge crystal clear display but I don’t mind using the pencil directly onto the screen because I’m careful. I use this every single day. I don’t think apple really needs a review here. The only thing I can say is that the 12.9 is worth paying extra. The display is just right without being too big or not big enough. I do everything on here and I could not live without it.

Amazing device - iOS, not so much.

I would love to give this 5 stars, but iOS is so annoying. You can't do simple tasks like drag and drop files when connected to a computer, you can't upload photos to social media from folders, you have to mix all of your photos together in the camera roll....zero organization, you have to create two copies of every image, one for the folder you want to store the images in, and another in the camera roll so you can actually use it.If it weren't for it lack of anything useful, I would give it 5 stars for the speed / processing power, resolution quality - this thing is killer for photography, and Lightroom is crazy fast. The sound quality is fantastic, as is the build quality. It is a very attractive looking device. I only use it for my photography and weather radar for storm chasing, I don't use the camera, or play games on it, or anything like that.Another thing I do not like is the fact that it is a cellular device, but without an iPhone it's really useless for anything except a connection away from WiFi. I can't send messages from it, I can't text images to clients because I use a much better Galaxy phone - Galaxy phones, and Apple tablets are the best. I am not going to suffer with an iPhone just to send texts -I would totally rate this device 5 stars, and highly recommend it - if it weren't for the crazy iOS, I don't know what they were thinking. So close to perfection.Awesome M1 chipBeautiful graphicsBeautiful deviceExcellent sound qualityTransfers files extremely fast, even stacks of RAW imagesRuns image editing software lightning fast

Great sound, poor cameras

This new M1 iPad Pro sounds great, both in speakers and can (finally) record sound in stereo. However, the image processing on both the rear and front-facing cameras are crude and noisy, so the photographs look painterly. Video quality is quite decent, however, so maybe the imaging sensors are optimized for video but not for still photos. The older iPad Pro models take decent photos as well as videos, but they record sound in mono. If you want to take decent still photos, the M1 iPad Pro will disappoint. Also, contrary to documentation online, the front-facing camera cannot record 1080p, can only record 720p. The Mirror front camera feature makes it so your face is not reflected, which was annoying how selfies would look like someone looking at you instead of you ... MoreThis new M1 iPad Pro sounds great, both in speakers and can (finally) record sound in stereo. The Mirror front camera feature makes it so your face is not reflected, which was annoying how selfies would look like someone looking at you instead of you looking in the mirror. Portrait Mode is full of noise and excess smoothing, so taking selfies for printing or a photo contest may be a problem. The display is the same as the 11" model, does not get very bright, and has the same angular 'wavy' contrast, but clarity of text on web pages is outstanding. Maybe iPad OS 14 does not take advantage of the new M1 technologies, which iPad OS 15 should, and may correct some of the issues I have addressed. Four stars for being a very fast, great-sounding, and handsome-looking 5thGeneration iPad Pro, but the camera quality is a downgrade for still photography and selfies, say, compared to the 2018 release, which sadly, I broke by accident.

IT'S JUST ABOUT PERFECT!

Possibly too early to give my opinion now as I am still on the learning curve! However, the ease of magnetically attaching the Apple Pencil and Keyboard without pairing as well as no need to separately charge them is great. But this drains the iPad battery. There is a solution - have the iPad on the charger while you work on it. The clarity of image display is perfect as well as the reproduction of all shades and intensities of colours. The iPad responds fast to all commands. Love using the pencil for basic tasks as well as I can already see the potential for all kinds of art work of it in combination with the Pixelmator application. In spite of relying on iCloud for storage, I should have opted for at lest the 256GB model as the storage on my iPad has already ... MorePossibly too early to give my opinion now as I am still on the learning curve! In spite of relying on iCloud for storage, I should have opted for at lest the 256GB model as the storage on my iPad has already dropped to 112GB available from the 128GB. Also, I would advise others wanting to have a keyboard to go for the Apple one rather than the Logitec one as the latter, even though works perfectly, is not suitable for the pad to be used on the lap. So far the only thing that I wish was better is the sound quality. Well, I guess, if you want total perfection, go for the iMac!

Just Shy of Perfect

Got this for my gf's birthday. Before I chose this tablet, I did a lot of research and comparisons with other tablets in the market. The closest you can get to the iPad Pro is the Tab S7+, or a Surface Pro...And even then it's not really close. The power of the M1 chip dominates the market hands down...but if you wanted benchmarks you'd have looked them up.Summary:This tablet is honestly a laptop, and that's not a stretch. Especially if you get an external keyboard and mouse/mouse pad. The power, looks, and feel of the device are wonderful, but the software limitations with the OS knee-cap this amazing device and prevent it from reaching what it could have been. The power, looks, and feel of the device are wonderful, but the software limitations with the OS knee-cap this amazing device and prevent it from reaching what it could have been. Honestly, if I was just getting her a tablet to draw on I would have gone cheaper, but her Macbook is very outdated and she needed something to help her move forward with work. This device IS NOT for someone just looking to watch youtube all day (but by Thanos that screen and those speakers make you want to.) It's for someone who wants a portable computer in a tablet format. If I was scoring the device, I'd give it 90 out of 100 points. The pros:A supremely gorgeous writing experience with the Apple Pencil, and I had thought it was just hype until I tried it myself. My gf has awesome handwriting and drawing skills, and I feel like this tool has just helped her get to the next level. She also loves reading books on the display and video chatting (great camera). Additionally, it lives up to it's claimed battery life and is powerful enough to keep dozens and dozens of apps up in the background that you can switch to or split screen with quickly. The thunderbolt connector is also great for charging and data transfer too. All in all, it's a device that she can do actual work with instead of just drawing or watching movies. Lastly, the main camera on it is a beast. It's weird taking photos with a tablet, but they'll be gorgeous photos if you do.Cons:The reason I say this is just shy of perfect is because of software limitations with the iPad OS. The thunderbolt port, while awesome, doesn't transfer at the same speeds as ports you see on windows based devices. This is probably due to Apple living in it's own world of its unique connectors for so long. You also can't extend the display of the tablet to an external monitor, only mirror. This is frustrating because the tablet's hardware is definitely more than capable of doing it, it's just the software limitation (I did find a third party app called shift screen that basically allows you to do it, but that's no thanks to Apple). There are some other niche complaints I found in my research, but nothing that she has run into personally.

Kieran's review of Apple 12.9" iPad Pro (2021) - 512 GB, Space Grey

Pros: Really good, really fast. The graphics are great. I bought this iPad last month, I am a college student studying Graphic Design, Business and Maths. I use ProCreate and Adobe software for Graphic Design and this iPad has made hand drawing rendering so much easier (Using the Apple Pencil). My note taking has been so much more organised and neat in digital form. The pencil gestures and behaviour make a lot of things much easier such as drawing graphs in Maths and Business. The battery gets me through the whole day, even into my evening as well. I am very pleased that after a full day of note taking I am also able to come home and relax by watching Netflix and still have a good 30-40% battery left. Having the capability to attach the iPad to the Magic Keyboard quickly is also great as it means I can use it as a desktop computer when I am typing essays and then take the keyboard off so I can draw on it flat. I would really recommend this product to anyone considering buying one. It has made my student life a lot easier and it is so good to have the option to use it as an iMac/iPad hybrid.Cons: The side magnet park for the Apple Pencil is not strong enough in my opinion. Other than that, it is perfect.

iPad Pro 12.9 is awesome

This is so much fun to use and I get amazed by how awesome the display is and how clear it is. I mainly got it because I’m always out at family gatherings/outings and if not that I work overnights and I miss main events and huge sporting events working weekends and I enjoy mainly combat sports but sports in general and this huge display is Perfect for watching all of it.
