I'd been dithering between choosing Apple's AirPods Max or the more expensive Bang & Olufsen H95s (which John Lewis also sell at time of writing). I read reviews which said the latter sounded better, but in the end after trying both of them I felt that for my needs (basically wearing them during my commute and while travelling), the AirPods Max just provided a bit more comfort while I didn't notice that much of a difference sound wise between the two - actually the AirPods Max's sound felt "bigger" and more rounded to me. Firstly I'm worried they won't stay pristine for long - they look like they'd be fairly easy to scratch, even though I'm planning on taking very good care of them. Secondly - and I'm not the first to say this - the case. Apple provides a wrap around case that only protects the ear pads and not the headband. And it's not a hardshell case either so it in itself looks pretty easy to mark and scuff.Overall though I'm very happy with my AirPods Max. I just bought a replacement hard case for them - gotta look after these properly!

I have had the AirPod Pro in-ear headphones for around 4 years and absolutely loved them. However, I kept finding myself drawn to the AirPod Max headphones as I wanted a greater sound experience.I decided to purchase the second generation headphones and do not regret at all. Why Apple decided to keep these basically the same is up for debate.Apple did change the charging port to USB-C from the old Lightning port. It's a nice change for those tired of having to interchange cords. Apple finally changed to the new USB-C because they were basically forced to by some European government/federation.The new colors is a nice upgrade. I opted for the Midnight color and they look really cool. The old gray option was just that - old.I use these to watch TV and the sound is amazing. I have premium headphones designed specifically for TV/movie watching, and the AirPods Max sound so much better. If you're looking for a premium pair of headphones, I encourage you to take a serious look at the AirPods Max.
