Replaced my 5 year old 21.5 iMac with this latest model 24 iMac with the M3 chip in blue. It’s SO much faster than the other one! Super sharp display, and fingerprint recognition for faster logins! Love it! Five years ago, I switched from a Windows 10 PC to all Apple with iPhone, iPad and iMac computer. Never looked back!

I imagine those coming from older Macbooks with low RAM and a SATA SSD or spindle drive will be much more impressed. But coming from my Mac Pro 2010, I must say that only thing that initially stood out was that the 24 iMac boots faster. This is my first MACBook. It is expensive and can not be upgraded after purchase - two big bummers. But it works flawlessly and has all the speed I was hoping for. I use it to create giant panoramas in Photoshop, starting with as many as 15 exposures. What took as much as 15 minutes to process now takes a few seconds. I have a lot of PSB files, gigantic. They save in less than a minute rather than 20.At home, I operate it clam shell style. I had no problem hooking the MACBook up to larger, calibrated screens, though I had to buy a boatload of converters. One way I could have saved money would have been to have purchased a much smaller solid state drive; maybe one TB. No solid state drive is big enough to hold all my photos. So, purchasing a conventional, inexpensive peripheral drive was necessary anyway. A harddrive that is configured for both PCs and MACS turned out to be the best way to go; though now I have about 3TB of unused solid state drive on the MACBook, a waste of money.
I love this iMac, it is very simple to use, it is only a matter of plugging it in and getting started. The graphics, the speed, the functionality is amazing. The keyboard and the mouse are very comfortable to use. For me it is a learning curve, as I need to get used to the Mac environment being used to Windows laptops, but after viewing tutorials and getting used to this new way of working, everything seems better and for me there is no way back.
Searching for a new computer for the best price I came upon B&H Photo. I had not heard of this company, but I saw the reviews were great, so I bought immediately. The price I paid was being offered for the same product for an OLDER version. I got the latest version for almost the same price! I have shared my experience and will shop again at B&H. Thanks.
This is upgrade from my 2015 iMac. Even though the screen is smaller, the screen looks the same size due to superior clarity. Easy to get round all the apps and very easy to transfer all my files from the old iMac. Getting used to the settings app, as slightly different to the old one, but am learning fast! Much faster than my old one, although that might be because of the age! The touch ID makes it easy to drop into web-sites. A great product from Apple.
This is my fourth iMac. I've had four iPhones, two Apple TVs and three iPads. This iMac in junk. constant small issues: all of a sudden, no audio. Safari freezes. Lightroom freezes. Lightroom slow. Mouse is erratic. System just locks up and I have to do a hard re-boot. My previous iMac was a workhorse and rarely had an issue for 8 1/2 years! I'm sorry I bought this machine. I bought into the Apple marketing about integrated memory. What a load of BS. This machine is not ready for prime time.
I ordered an iMac from Amazon and UPS lost it for a week! B&H had one to me practically overnight via Fedex. I love the machine, my old Mac is 13 years old and doesn't have the horsepower needed to run the photo software I need. Hat's off to B&H for excellent service, fast delivery! I took advantage of their interest free Payboo financing as well, certainly eased the sttrain on my cash flow.
I've been a Mac Advocate since 1986 when my college training program got a Mac 512Ke and a MacPlus to dive into desktop publishing. Been using Macs ever since. Our 8-year-old Intel iMac was giving a lot of spinning beachballs which usually means an internal flaw has developed. Cyber Monday hit perfectly as the silver model M1 replacement was on sale, and more importantly, in stock. Arrived in the most amazing packaging, like it was a fine jewel. After first launch to verify operation, I updated the OS to Monterey 12.0.1--best done after midnight with less traffic on Apple's servers. That went smoothly, and many older apps open successfully, except for Photoshop CS3 & MS Office (Word, Excel) 2011. Found free or very cheap replacements: Pixelmator Pro & ...
