Apple Magic Trackpad

As too much time has passed for the Logitech T650 to be viable these days, I ended up resorting to this Apple Trackpad for my Linux machine.Unfortunately there's trouble maintaining a Bluetooth connection after turning off the trackpad, so you need to go back to the Bluetooth Manager program and reconnect to the trackpad. No doubt there is a solution to this hiding somewhere in the depths of Linux forums, but it's beyond me at this stage to investigate much further.Otherwise, the trackpad is nice and reliable, allowing me to watch and control VLC from the couch.

All is GREAT!

Just absolutely love this thing. My original Apple track pad has been with me for almost 10 years. But it was starting to have some minor issues with losing connection. And my original Apple brand rechargeable batteries were getting to the point that they didn't hold a charge as well as originally. So this new Magic Trackpad has been just great. I was a little concerned that since the new Trackpad was a bit wider would have trouble fitting on my small messy desk. I just moved some junk aside and all is great.

Can’t beat it

Apple trackpads have spoiled me so much, it’s pretty much the only pointing device I can tolerate at this point. Years upon years of mouse usage had wreaked havoc on various tendons and bursa in my arms. Trackballs are ok, but you get so much more control with this. It’s just like the excellent MacBook trackpads but bigger, so gestures are effortless. Minimized the amount of repetitive movement you need to make, which apart from voice control is about as good as it gets.

Excellent trackpad!!

If you have ever used a trackpad on an Apple laptop, then you know how great they are. In my opinion, nobody makes better trackpads than Apple. I bought this one because I recently got a new iMac that did not come with a trackpad. I much prefer a trackpad to a mouse when using an iMac. It is every bit as excellent as expected. Great battery life is a bonus.

Gamechanger for desktop Macs

I bought this Magic Trackpad after using a Magic Mouse for a couple months on a Mac Mini. I've used a MacBook for years, and I assumed using a mouse would be easier, but when I started using a mouse, I found that basic tasks would take me way longer to complete. I also missed out on some gestures that I would normally use that required more than two fingers. I decided to give the trackpad a shot, and it made a huge difference. It has more surface area than my 2020 MacBook Pro and works great wirelessly. The battery lasts a long time (I haven't needed to charge it since I bought it at the beginning of the month). I just wish it was slightly cheaper, but it is great! I wish it was cheaper, but it's worth the money.PROS: Long battery life, includes braided charging ... MoreI bought this Magic Trackpad after using a Magic Mouse for a couple months on a Mac Mini. Go back to using a mouse? No way.

I bought this along with a new iMac two months ago. I believe this is the third iteration of the product, and this is the best version of the Apple trackpad that I have ever used. Reliable, intuitive, configureable, accurate, responsive, and expensive. In my opinion, a "must have" accessory. One bit of advise; when using a mouse OR a trackpad, learn to use the input device with your non-dominant hand. For example, if you are right-handed, take the time to learn how to use your mouse OR trackpad with your LEFT hand. Save your dominant hand for other tasks. It is worth the effort because it will stimulate your overall dexterity.

I’m glad I finally got this

I had been using a mouse exclusively and didn’t see any need for a trackpad. Then after using the one on my iPad’s magic keyboard I realized that trackpads can be easier than a mouse for lots of things, so I ordered this one to go alongside my mouse and keyboard with my iMac. This thing is so accurate and easy to use, it feels like my hand becomes part of the screen while I’m using it. I’ve found that I use it more than my mouse, but I still like having the mouse for some tasks. One potential downer is that it’s expensive, but like all things Apple - it’s got so much extra value compared to other options that I don’t mind spending the money. One thing for sure is that I’ll always have the Magic Trackpad with my Mac going forward.

Versatility, ease, size, and battery life (+1)

The track pad does exactly what it is supposed to do. It is a significant improvement over the integrated trackpad in my MacBook Air (2020 M1). I like being able to reposition it as I please, and that it has excellent battery life and seamless connectivity via Bluetooth. However, I did find my wrist feeling rather carpal tunnel-y uopon extended use. I got an inexpensive gel wrist pad and that helped. See the pictures for a size comparison. I’m 6’ tall and can just barely pale a basketball in one hand. Note the relative area covered by my hand on the separate track pad vs the integrated one. Size matters when there are so many gestures. Very responsive. Keeps charge for very long time.

A few years ago, I found a significantly less expensive trackpad that worked quite well. Now ... the Magic Trackpad seems to be comparatively reasonably priced.I also found the Magic Trackpad to be quite impressive -- being both very responsive and keeping a charge for quite a long time.I like how the Magic Trackpad shows the battery % left in the drop-down Bluetooth menu on the MacOS tool bar. Makes it easy to check the status of the battery.

Works Great with MacBook Pro with M1

I stick mostly to the Apple Eco System of products. I recently bought a new MacBook Pro and I could not get my very old Apple trackpad to work. I think there might have been some work arounds but it was time for a new trackpad anyway.I decided to go ahead with this replacement and I have been pleased. It feels and works exactly like the build in trackpad on the MacBook.I also like the fact it is rechargeable and I don't have to keep replacing batteries.Pairing was easy. Plug in the supplied USB-C cable and it automatically connected. Once it is paired you do NOT need the cable except to recharge.
