Arc'teryx Konseal Pant Men's S24 30 Short / Chloris

(59 reviews)

This new revised Konseal Pant is an extremely versatile all-around climbing pant from Arc'teryx that is equally well-suited for rock climbing at the crag, training at the gym, traversing on the glaciers, and while moving up high in the mixed alpine terrain. These pants are made from a durable stretch woven nylon blend fabric. Great for slightly cool approach hikes, to give you some abrasion protection while rock climbing, perfect for hot weather glacier travel in the lighter colors available, and for driving to trailheads and celebrating at the pub on the way home from your adventure. The tapered leg design helps to maintain visibility of your feet while rock climbing, and can also be stretched over the tops of most 3-season mountaineering boots. The mesh-lined ventilated front and back drop-in pockets allow for more airflow, and the harness-friendly zippered thigh pocket keeps items secure and accessible. A great value for a high quality durable Arc'teryx product. Updated with a heavier weight stretch woven nylon fabric for increased durability and stretch. I bought this pants and it’s almost unwearable only three month after. The fabric is really not of good quality. Several holes appeared on the top of the thigh and a pocket is
totally torned off at the back of the pants. The fit is great but don’t expect it to last more than a season.I’m a climbing guide,I’ve been buying Arc’teryx products for the last 20
years and the product quality has drastically deteriorated. I had a issu with a Gore-Tex jacket last year and these pants are probably the last product I’ll buy from Arc’teryx.I
don’t recommend these pants.

I've used them extensively at the indoor rock gym, very stretchy in the groin region for crouching/squatting, and does not inhibit mobility. I have had issues due to my
muscular buttocks with tearing or splitting the seat out of my pants whensquatting or being dynamic - but no such issues so far. I'm 178cm/82kg and a 32" fit perfectly.

The terrible warranty and quality for this product. After a normal hiking, there’s a small hole caused by a brunch. I tried to get warranty for this and they told me this is not
their quality issue but it’s due to my misusing. They can only provide a tape to fix this hole and can’t do anything else about it. Bad quality and warranty services, don’t waste
money on this pants.

Comfy and Stretchy
10 April 2024
I first owned the Konseal shorts and loved them so I had to add the pants. The material is light and stretchy making these pants very comfortable for everyday wear. I have an Italy trip coming up and I bet they make great travel pants, not only for 10+ hours on the plane but for hiking and sightseeing as well. I guess I'll find out! I'll be bringing my Konseal shorts and Cormac hoodies as well.My only wish is that they had a button at the waist instead of a snap.... Show more

Downgrade
14 May 2024
Compared to the older versions of the Konseal Pant, these are a bit of a downgrade sadly. The addition of more synthetic fibers can be a + or a - depending on taste, but the biggest shame is that with the change in material, the fit has changed. The previous versions a slimmer fit that easily slid under a harness and was easy to wear to the gym, crag, or simply casually in more urban environments. Depending on one's preference, the older version which sported more cotton into the textile, was arguably more comfortable next-to-skin while offering great mobility with the gussets. All in all, the previous versions were a more superior pair of pants.... Show more

Great pants for climbing and casual use
31 May 2024
Great pants for climbing and wearing around town. I purchased these in black and they provide a lot of range for movement when climbing. I purchased these in the short cut and they’re perfect. The black is nice because they work well for casual use as well.... Show more

petroleum-based plastic fabric - thumbs down
12 April 2024
Very disappointed with the switch from cotton to plastic. Why did you ruin the best designed climbing pants on the market?Natural fabrics are the most skin friendly (and the most earth friendly), not the petroleum-based ones.if you want to poison your blood with micro plastics there are plenty of other plastic climbing pants out therealso ... these pants make lots of noise when you move !Bring the cotton back !PS - According to the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) over 346 million barrels of oil are used every year to make synthetic fabrics like polyester, nylon and acrylic.Food for thought.... Great pant but the material is just way too noisy. I would be embarrassed to walk around in these pants due to the noise. Also I prefer natural fibers.... Show more

Very nice, but it's tight.
28 July 2021
The material appears to be light and durable. The cut/patterning is near perfect, are a lot of angles are gusseted to ensure a good fit. It however deviated from the size chart. Waist measurements appear to be in sync, but the hip is definitely tight. I have thick thighs, so that's always an issue. It has a back/side pocket design that is awesome. Your wallet is shift to the side so it affect your sitting position less. I think it's the best part of these pants, I've since used them for my daily wear since it a bit too tight to climb in.I hope Arc'teryx makes this in a size 33 or medium since 32 is tight and 34 is too loose around the waist....
