I just started using the As I AM brand and so far I am very satisfied with their products in terms of quality and performance. I bought 3 products until now: the Leave-In Conditioner, the So Much Moisture hydrating lotion and the Moisture Milk Daily Revitaliser. I am reviewing each one separately. All 3 products work wonders on my curly natural long low porosity hair. I have been looking for a product that would help moisturize, detangle, and de-frizz my hair. For reference I have 2C/3A medium hair that has been bleached in the past. My ends are very dry yet my scalp gets oily fast. Other curly hair leave ins (like the Shea Moisture Curl Smoothie) are too heavy and lease my hair greasy, or are way too light (like milk leave ins). I have tried products for years and this is the first one that leaves my hair feeling soft and healthy! TIP!! I apply after shampooing and conditioning in the shower while me hair still sopping wet. I flip my hair over, use a quarter size amount of this leave-in, and scrunch it into my hair for about 1 minute. I then use a microfiber towel to scrunch out the excess water and air dry. :)

I've been natural for just over 15 years. I tried As I Am products early on in my journey, and always loved them. I have enjoyed experimenting with different products to see what works best for my fine, dense curls. Some may call me a product junkie, but hey....semantics (lol). But listen, this product is gold. After washing and deep conditioning with their products, I applied the leave-in. My hair was so moisturized, but yet it wasn't weighed down. This is a big deal for me since my hair is fine to baby fine. It's hard for us fine haired curlies to find products that don't weigh our hair down. Try this product, you'll be doing the happy dance like me lol.

I love this leave in! Let me start off by saying I have really thin hair on the top where you can see my scalp so as you can imagine a lot of hair products can be really heavy especially leave ins but this leave in is incredible! I basically build on the leave in to make sure I don’t have too much on and it weighs down my waves. I even used it for a refresh the next day with water. If you have thin wavy hair don’t be afraid to purchase, do it! You will not regret it. (First photo was my wash day I used the classic leave in, classic curling jelly & Verb ghost oil to break the cast; second photo is the next day when I refreshed with the classic leave in & water)
I bought this while on the search to replace my holy grail leave-in because of a formula change. The price was good, so I gave it a shot. I’m not impressed, but I’m not mad. It smells like early 2000s tanning oil—Very… coconutty. It’s like a moderate gelee consistency, so I thought it would be more hydrating, but it’s like it doesn’t sink all the way into my hair. It’s like it moisturizes it (prevents friction, kind of gives slip, etc) but does not hydrate (relieve dryness or hardness). I have low porosity, fine, 3c hair that does NOT like heavy products. It didn’t weigh it down, but it takes my hair much longer to dry when I use this. I wouldn’t buy it again, but I won’t throw it out.
My biracial (white/black) 9yo daughter has a mix of type 4abc low porosity hair. I know some people with low porosity hair don’t like using coconut, & honestly for a while I thought her hair didn’t like it, but this winter has really dried her hair even using her existing leave-ins (that don’t have coconut), & I could just tell she needed something different. I’ve used it for a few days on her to detangle a little/refresh & it has really left her hair moisturized! Maybe it will work differently once the hot humid weather returns & who knows it may just be a good leave-in for winter, but it’s working great right now, & I’ll keep trying it out once the heat returns. i have wavy hair with some frizziness. i tried the leave in in morning after i shampooed last night. i found out this leave in give me structure for my hair while keeping it soft. it is a perfect balance for wavy hair. also it keeps the natural volume of the hair. it does not have irritating ingredients. the package is easy to use and the size os generous. i am happy. i also jave the kids jelly whoch is good. maybe i try the shampoo as well.edit: after some hours the hair look voluminous and wavy with no frizz. i am still happy.
