Plus, customer service from Dyson is fantastic. An issue with the charger for my DC34 required that I send it back to Dyson for service. The entire process was handled politely, professionally, and efficiently, so I have no doubts about Dyson's ability to provide excellent customer service should I encounter a problem with my V8 Animal+ in the future. When it comes to vacuums, you get what you pay for. When you buy a Dyson, you're getting a cutting-edge machine that outperforms all its competitors, that will last for many years, and that will make cleaning more of a joy than a chore, simply because it can do so much in so little time and with minimal effort. I highly recommend this vacuum to anyone who wants an easier vacuuming experience than that of a traditional corded upright.
I really wanted to love this vacuum. Maybe my expectations were unrealistic, but our old vacuum that was all of $100 didn’t give me this many issues. We have 3 dogs and 2 cats and a baby. Our place is under 1,000 sqft, mostly hardwood but we have rugs around. Because of the lack of power this vacuum has, I have to vacuum several times PER DAY to keep pet hair at bay. So everytime you clip your vacuum into the mount (which includes all necessary hardware to hang on any wall you choose) it automatically begins charging whilst being hung up and put away. To preserve the integrity of the battery, I suggest unplugging the charger cord from the wall once the vacuum is fully charged so it’s not constantly plugged in and charging. A third thing all Dyson products are known for-and what truly sets them apart from their competitors-is the motors they use + the way the product uses it’s motor efficiently and works in tandem with it’s smart design for much better results than it’s competition. Dyson vacuums have become world famous and so desirable for all of these reasons, but especially because of how well the product works and the fact that no Dyson vacuums lose their suction power at any point; they always keep their same strong suction from the very moment you first pull the trigger and begin vacuuming, all the way until you let go of the trigger ten minutes later without ever once allowing the vacuum to stop. Other vacuums have always started out with strong suction when you first cut them on and then their suction power quickly fades away and loses its power over time. This is also handy in case a particular part of your vacuum breaks or needs replacing, because you can buy certain parts for the vacuum as well, so that simple fact further justifies the price of Dyson vacuums, as they’re an investment that’ll last for quite some time, and if anything becomes damaged, you can buy the particular part you need directly from Dyson and easily install it and fix your vacuum. So if something is wrong with your Dyson, don’t throw it away, just buy the particular part you need and replace it. The parts are cheap too. And they sell literally every single piece of the vacuum individually, all the way down to the plastic bin that holds the rubbish it vacuums up. The vacuum itself is also very lightweight and super easy to maneuver around. I was initially skeptical if this tiny handheld cordless would suffice as the sole vacuum for an entire house, but I very quickly realized within the first few minutes of using it that it’s more than sufficient for the entire house and it very easily replaces big, clunky, plug-in vacuums. It just shows how superior the Dyson motor is, because this tiny handheld is able to completely replace any vacuum and do a better and easier job of cleaning, as well as a quicker job due to the fact it cleans better so it requires less passes over the floor in addition to the fact it’s cordless so you don’t have to constantly plug in and move around a cord or dodge it in the floor whilst vacuuming. On a full charge, I’m able to completely vacuum every single floor in my house, as it works for hard floors as well as carpeting, and I’ve got a 3,600sqft house, but it still is able to clean the entire house without the battery dying, so don’t worry about not being able to clean the whole house at once. I’m able to even use attachments to clean things like windowsills and ceiling fans and furniture as well as the stairs and curtains, not just the floors. I also use it to clean my car out regularly as well. It keeps the carpet in my car like new, it’s still as soft and fluffy as the day I bought it 6 months ago. And I’m able to use other attachments to also clean out the center where the gear shifter snd buttons are at as well as the doors and door pockets and dashboard as well as the trunk and all the little compartments in it. I do have to use one of the specialty auto attachments I bought separately for some areas, like getting the entire door pockets, which is the long flexible hose like you’d use at a car wash. but my car doors have an awkward shape, it’s a BMW 440 GranCoupe, so it’s super angular and makes it impossible for any straight attachment to fit in. But I think many vehicles can get away without needing the auto attachments. I literally only need the hose for the door pockets, as the vacuum is small enough to get in all the areas. Lastly, when you initially buy your Dyson, be sure to register it on here for the warranty, because Dyson backs their products with a great warranty as well. Tbh they sent me an email today asking if I wanted to review my vacuum, which I bought and registered over 7 months ago. But it’s been such a great vacuum and I’ve had time to really use and get to know it, and I can truly say it’s rhe best vacuum ever. And I only bought the V8 Animal, they now have V11s, which have far stronger motors and larger batteries that last even longer, so I can just imagine how great they are. But honestly, this vacuum is really more than all you’ll ever need for your home, as it’s got plenty of power and battery life and is versatile enough for the entire house (and car!) oh and one last thing I love about Dyson is that they’re able to vacuum up large bits of rubbish as well as typical vacuum things, like dirt and hair. But hairs never get tangled in the motorized attachments. They’ve engineered them to resist hairs wrapping arojnd and tangling up like other vacuums, and due to the design, it’s able to pick up large bits without damage to the vacuum. For example, I broke a mirror and vacuumed up all the shards of glass without a bit of damage to my Dyson, and they’re extremely easy to empty out the bin as well-which of course is bag-less. Dyson is honestly the brand responsible for the style/design/features of literally all modern vacuums. They were the first and everyone has copied them now, but nobody can outdo them. Dyson products are expensive, yes, but they’re absolutely worth every penny due to the amount of engineering and quality and performance you get with any and every product Dyson makes. They’re a revolutionary brand that’s full of quality, innovation, excellent engineering, and great looks and style. I’m just glad they’ve expanded from a vacuum brand to a home brand because their fans, hair products, and lamps are all so extraordinary and just as great and superior to their competitors as their vacuums, not to mention they’re just as beautiful. Dyson quickly became a brand I love and trust and am happy and proud to own. I’ll never buy another brand after owning Dyson products. I promise you’ll feel the same way too once you use a Dyson for the first time.
This Vacuum Works Really Good! it pulls up the carpet pile really well and removes stuff you didn't want to know was in your carpet! Couple things I want to mention. When all the reviews say the battery life is short, BELIVE IT! it runs 15 minutes on Max power (maybe, I wasn't timing it but it wasn't long). Of course you want to use "super Suck on the carpet to get it good, but... I have a 1000sqft apartment and can only get the living room and hallway done before the vacuum is done and FYI the battery gets really warm and its close to your hand when using the vacuum. The canister is small, in mentioned apartment I emptied it 8 times, given the carpet has never been vacuumed with this super sucking vacuum before so it might get better. That said the capacity really not that bad. The other thing that i didn't see in reviews is the size/length of the cleaning head its the size/length of a size 10 mens shoe. So it takes longer to vacuum. The Small vacuum attachment works really good on stairs. and it comes with a wall caddy. All and all I would recommend this vacuum the things I mentioned are really not that bad (nothing prefect), its light but I think my wife will complain about the weight of it cause it starts getting heavier as you use it. (good thing I like to vacuum ;) )

It works on carpet too, but there's a better attachment for that. If you don't have carpet and don't want tons of attachments, get the Motorhead instead of the V8 Absolute and save yourself $100 or so. This also comes with a charger and a wall-mounting bracket. The different parts are easy to attach/remove. You can remove the stick and turn it into a powerful handheld. Suction power: this has two modes, extended runtime and max power. In extended runtime mode, the V8 has 28 air-watts of suction. In max power, it's 115 air-watts. The B D Dustbuster is 15-20 air-watts. The Dyson Ball vac is 270 air-watts. Roomba's manufacturers don't publish the Roomba's suction power, but it's probably around 20 air-watts. Of these, I'd definitely choose the V8. It's more powerful than the Dustbuster and Roomba. The V8 has less suction than the Dyson Ball, but the Ball's 270 air-watts is more often than not too powerful--if it passes near a curtain, the curtain might be destroyed. The V8 tends not to do that. The V8 is remarkably quiet for its power. In extended runtime mode, it's quieter than all 3 of the other vacuums I have, although it's still not exactly quiet. The roller head swivels in all sorts of directions, so it's easy to vacuum under furniture, etc. The V8 only weighs about 5 lb, so it's very easy to just vacuum whenever I need. The Dyson Ball (and basically any other corded upright vacuum) is great for some tasks, but it's also bulky, heavy, and takes a while to set up because the cord needs to be unwound and plugged in. With the V8, I can just pick it up and start vacuuming. Compared to the B D Dustbuster, the V8 is about as easy to use, more powerful, holds more dirt, and cleans a larger area more quickly. The V8 also transforms into a handheld for tight spaces. The only advantage for handhelds is that they're much cheaper. Compared to the Roomba (and most robot vacuums), the V8 is far less hassle. The only advantage for the Roomba is that it can reach some areas that would be difficult with the V8 (such as the floor under a bed). The Roomba has tons of hidden problems though--it gets stuck often and needs to be rescued, it needs 1-2 hours to do its job, it's unreliable (sometimes cleaning one area 10 times while ignoring others), it often can't dock/charge, it sometimes destroys things, and it's just glitchy. With all of these issues, the Roomba requires more work, even though it's supposed to be automatic. With the Roomba, you'd have to re-design your apartment for the vacuum. With the V8, you have a vacuum that works with your apartment. I haven't had the V8 long enough to know how much work it is to maintain the vac (cleaning filters, repairs, etc.), but if it's anything like the Dyson Ball vac I've had for years, maintenance will be a breeze.
This thing clogs after cleaning a 6x8 carpet in a home with 1 small short-hair cat. The dust flies everywhere when I open the hatch and there is invariably dust stuck up around the top of the canister that I have to pull out by hand. Or I can release the whole canister, which is already dusty from opening the hatch. You can't just take off the canister, which would probably be less messy, you have to open the hatch at the bottom first which makes the handle and everything you touch dusty. Gross gross gross. The charge lasts for 2 rooms (13x15) max, but I have to stop multiple times to empty the nasty canister. I feel like I need a shower after I vacuum. It had such better suction, lasted indefinitely and wasn't dirty. It was just bigger, which since my apartment is small was unideal. But unideal is 1000x better than horrible. I loathe this vacuum. It makes me angry every time I use it.
