Very nice monitor. A little light bleed but don’t really notice unless watching dark films. I mainly use this with my steam deck and it’s worked very well.Only downside is there’s no power pass through so you’ll need a hub with hdmi out to connect to the monitor and leave a usb free for power. I believe the 17” is the same.

Great portable gaming monitor! I have a small form factor PC and this compliments it great when I'm traveling and won't all the power of my desktop to go! It's faster and more responsive them most regular monitors and having the ability to use one cable to power it and display the image at 240Hz is super convenient and clean! I plug in 2 wires for my whole PC! The power wire to the tower and one to the monitor! Also use used it as a second display with my 17" laptop and it was nice to have videos on one while working on the other or using both to work from. Definitely recommend!

I bought 6 of the ASUS ROG Strix Portable 17.3-inch USB-C monitors, basically a $6,000 spend. Two of the six units, the tripod doesn't stay in the set extended position; e.g., if raised. I opened a ticket with ASUS Support. They basically told me they can't service, provide replacement tripod. The unit is still currently selling on ASUS website. How to you sell hardware that you have no intention of providing replacement parts. This is my first AND LAST foray into purchasing ASUS hardware. Disappointed is an understatement considering the cost of buying the six units. I plan on sharing this story as frequently as possible with colleagues in I.T. purchasing.

I purchased 2 for my RV office. The low power consumption, and internal battery were the main purchasing factors. There are no transit accessories or mountings for this form factor, so expect to DIY a decent mount. I even had to sew a custom sleave for my travel bag.One was DOA, Asus support refused to RMA, which lost me a Black Friday deal. Which is the only reason for the 1 star, would have been 4-5 if they would have bothered to fix it. ASUS needs to take some responsibility in the flimsy design. By the looks of the packaging, they know it is an issue. These screens are very sensitive. The mounting point is a camera screw and the plastic housing doesn't hold up well. The screen is too heavy for that little mounting point. The whole thing is very delicate, and I wouldn't trust it for business travel.Otherwise it's a good monitor. If it was made of sturdier stuff, it would be amazing. The software settings for refresh rate do not persist between sessions. Causing me to have to change it at every location. Nice that it defaults to highest rate, but if you are running on battery, you may want to dial that down. This is an expencive monitor, but it is the best 17 inch mobile option on the market. It pairs well with the ROG Strix 17 inch laptop.
Great product.Love the design and branding.Very light, versatile, and extremely easy to use.Great 2nd screen for work.Wish there it was brighter, and that there was an another way to keep power supply.Happy
I've owned a dozen portable displays over the years and the XG17AHP is bar far the best portable display I've owned. The high refresh rate and peak brightness blow all of the other portable options out of the water. The included adjustable stand is also a game changer and a huge improvement over the basic fold-able stands that come with most portables.
One of the wishlist that was eyed for a while.144hz is moree than enough for a steady & smooth gaming experiance. The lightweight material built & versatility is the whole point of getting this portable monitor.ROG nails it with every aspects.
Good Points: The monitor has good colour except for the black. It is easy to set up and the built-in stand is great.Improvement Points: There is a massive amount of bleeding, which is very distracting when watching a film. For the cost the edges should be much better.
This is a nice monitor for what it is aesthetically. It would have been better if it was not plastic but aluminum or some type of metal given the price. It would have been ideal to have a hard-case since it's meant to be "portable" as the soft-case looks nice but not confident in it's ability to actually protector the monitor from drops or being crushed in a backpack. The monitor stand is amazing and wish this same development went into the monitor itself hardware-wise. It's nice that it comes with built in speakers but will obviously be using headphones or external speakers as they are not amazing as they are marketed to be.
Pros: No market equivalent, solid build quality, high refresh rate.Cons: The metal stand does not control tilt/swivel well. The mounting system is not robust. The magnetic cover & stand is pretty gimmicky. Issues coming out of sleep mode, almost always requires a power cycle. High price. Carrying case offers no protection.
