Asus NVIDIA GeForce TUF-RTX4090-O24G-GAMING OC Edition 24GB GDDR6X

Asus build quality I cannot fault. This card is heavy at 2.3kg but they supply a nice looking stand to stop sag. Mental quick, this card is on a totally different level to any GPU I have owned before. No problems with temperatures, never seems to break 62 degrees full on gaming. At idle anywhere between 29 and 30 degrees. I have an i7 13700 CPU and have experienced no bottlenecks. Definitely an expensive but worthwhile purchase. Cannot see me needing another card for a good few years.

A huge card that keeps cool this monster of a GPU without many issues.

I am going to split this into two sections, pros and cons.Pros:Tops out at around 65-66C in an open case.Has two HDMI 2.1 Ports for double the 4k 120.Double the RTX 3080 performance.Cons:The VRAM is kind of hot (76-80C), due to the use of thick thermal pads used for cooling.Its huge and case compatibility is really rough.Really expensive, would've preferred the non-OC model, but it is not available anywhere.One of the fans on my card has annoying fan-bearing/wobble whine... :( - this subtracts one point for me.

Best GPU you can buy

Absolutely massive card but the most powerful GPU available. Every game I tested has a minimum of 32% increase in FPS

Great Cooling, Great Performance, Coil Whine a little bit annoying

So I have done some testing with my Asus TUF 4090 OC and what I have managed to get is 2910 MHZ with 100% Powerlimit settings in Afterburner +195 Core Clock + 1000 Memory my GPU Temps are around 55-60 Celsius and Memory Hot Spot 65-70. Im quite impressed about my card to be honest :DI would like to add that I have not bought the card from Digitec but as a regular customer I wanted to share my experience with the card here.

Great performance but get the non-OC edition.

This is a GPU recommended only for 4K gaming and no less. Do not invest in this card as a long term gaming solution for 1080p or 1440p. You'll find that the GPU will get under utilised by many games under those resolution.I also do not recommend purchasing an 'OC' edition as overclocking is still possible with the non-OC editions. While you may be tempted because you might think the OC edition to be more powerful the non - OC editions can easily match them in performance through manual tweaking. I will not commend these companies producing so little non-OC editions.The 4090's performance is outstanding even at a low power limit. I mentioned performance at a low power limit - keep in mind for those unfamiliar, download a program called MSI Afterburner which should allow you to manually tweak power limit which is important in managing power consumption. The 4090 is extremely power hungry.

Just when you think that 30x series is enough for everything, you're proven wrong

I've upgraded from my 3080 and the difference is just huge. For the first time, I really feel like the 4K gaming has arrived. I've tested it with all my hardware-hungry games and the leap is huge. Literally, everything I tried, even the most demanding games are at 60+ FPS at least, but most of them are 100+ FPS. Cyberpunk 2077 runs with 60-80 FPS with everything to the highest setting (with Psycho RT) and "Quality" DSSL. For all the other games that I tried, there isn't even a need for DLSS and still get 60+ FPS with RT on and stuff.Insane power, welcome to real 4K gaming.

The quiet achiever.

Compared to my RTX 2080TI, this thing is as quiet as a mouse. I bought it for Microsoft Flight Simulator which is so hard on FPS where I was getting about 25fps at serious airports in study level aircraft. This has taken me to over 140fps so I am finally happy with my Flight Sim experience. Other games just give crazy high numbers. It's a lot of money but gives me so much more performance than I expected and it's as quiet as a mouse.

Throw whatever you want at this card, and it will ask "is that all?"

The sheer power of this thing is insane. It stays nice and cool, and actually is very power efficient. Running MW2 on a 5800X3D, on extreme settings (3440x1440) with DLSS quality mode enabled, it maxes out at around 280W which is less than the 2080Ti it replaced. Whilst running it at 200+FPS, far more than the Ti was capable of.Yes it's expensive, but you do get what you pay for, which is insane performance.

Was lucky to get one

I knew these would be rare so rolled the dice and was lucky enough to get one for my AI research in the first 30 seconds of them going on sale. They're big, really big, taller even than my last PC case. This is due to the cooler being oversized on expectations that it would have to cool 650W. They run fast and they run cool. It's a shame that it seems that NVidia chose to limit 40 series availability to keep 30 series prices high as they unload old stock. 4090 seem to be great cards if you can get one without giving money to scalpers.
