Best Inexpensive Monitor for Video and Photo Edits

TLDR: This is absolutely amazing for video and photo editing without spending a ton of money - basically it's the best you're going to get for under $500.I shot a short film and edited the first half on an old Dell TN panel (16 x 9) and the colors were awful. At the time it was fine - I was only doing content edits, not color correction.I looked at my footage on a calibrated monitor and realized the Dell wasn't going to work.Looking at video and photo monitors can be quite depressing - the low end for professional monitors is around $500 (probably more) and anything good under that price point are few and far between.Basically my choice came down to this and the Viewsonic VP2458.I've always been a fan of the 16:10 aspect ratio (it makes all the difference ... MoreTLDR: This is absolutely amazing for video and photo editing without spending a ton of money - basically it's the best you're going to get for under $500.I shot a short film and edited the first half on an old Dell TN panel (16 x 9) and the colors were awful. Best affordable monitor for office work

The stand can also be removed completely with the push of a button and the mount on the back is VESA compatible.Happily, Staples sells this monitor and we bought a pair. We've been using the pair for a few weeks. They're great, and their displays are identical when the monitors are side by side.If you want a good business monitor, look no further. The ASUS PA248QV does it all at a great price.

Brilliant brightness and color rendition.

Have used Dell 16x10 monitors for years. My Ultrasharp 2410s served me well, but they were becoming a bit long in the tooth and I wanted to replace them both. Looked quite a while and settled on this one. specs seemed good for the price, and hard to find a good 16X10 that includes pivot, which was essential for me. Got them in and set them up and I was floored. The brightness and color rendition on these monitors is phenomenal. The whites on this monitor made my Dell's whites look positively grey. I do wish the bottom of the monitor's bezel was thinner, but I can live with that. I highly recommend this monitor.

Outstanding Monitor for the Price
11 July 2022

Installed about a week ago and I love it! Excellent resolution and exceptional color renditions. I'm a serious hobby photographer using a Nikon Z7 and On1 Raw processing software. I get very true color on this monitor and find that I can correct defects (dust or spots on lens) that I couldn't even see on my previous monitor. I use a reproduction rolltop computer desk with a very confined monitor location and this one filles it up with less than 1/8 to spare laterally. Looks great and great performance at a great price, and typical great B&H service through the sale and quick delivery. Life is good!

Picture quality is great, features and color calibration are wonderful. If anyone is wondering about M1 MacBook compatibility- its perfect. Just purchase a nice Thunderbolt USB-C cable with video transfer, and you can use one cable to display and charge (a bit slowly) at the same time. I can use the monitors USB-A ports for all my dongles, and my Scarlett Solo interface works through the monitor also - freeing me from the USB-C dock/adapters usually needed. Its plenty bright for my bedroom (darker lighting). Unless Im using it wrong, its quite a few menu clicks to adjust volume unless you give up one of the two custom shortcut buttons. But I suggest external speakers anyway, of course. The charge passthrough and USB data passthrough is just so convenient for the 2 port M1 machines. Not to mention the picture looks great for a 1080p panel.

Really Great Monitor
17 March 2023

I bought this monitor to use in my everyday work usage as I find the 16:10 aspect ratio format better for viewing than a standard wide screen 16:9 format. I have a higher end video card and this monitor is very crisp and clear and has great colors. It was plug and play using the included HDMI cable. There are a lot of color/contrast, etc adjustment capabilities but resolution was fine as received. The monitor allows easy positioning of screen height and tilt. It was well packaged and arrived in perfect condition and had no pixel flaws. The embedded speakers have a somewhat tinny sound but are adequate for my use. I am very happy with this purchase.

Seeing is believing with the ProArt PA27CV

I'm very happy with the pair of ProArt PA27s I bought, they are a total godsend if you work in design or graphics and can't afford to step up to Eizos. Being of a certain age I need all the screen real estate I can get. Now that I can see what I'm doing I have finally begun to explore and extend the the uses and capabilities of my design software. Text is absolutely crisp, brightness (even at 50%) is astonishing. I haven't messed with the colour settings as they would appear to be good out of the box. Additionally the format and bezel dimensions of the 24" were much less appealing than the 27". The brightness issue with the 24" might just have been down to a faulty monitor but that was my experience anyway. These ProArt 27" monitors are monsters, so make sure you've got enough deskspace before you buy. And be prepared to mess around with the setup for a couple of weeks before you start to enjoy the benefits.

Solid monitor, well worth the cost
19 April 2023

This monitor is very nice, the colours are excellent. The OSD is the easiest to use that I have experienced of any monitor. The display is sharp even at the lowest and highest brightness and I haven't been able to find any dark spots. The brightness at the lowest setting is too bright for me in a dark room but I was able to fix this with an app. There is also a ruler along the bottom bezel which is very useful. The buttons to control the OSD are along the front which is much easier to use than many modern monitors where they are hidden for the sake of a clean look. I have had no issues with this monitor and it was well worth the cost.

Stop thinking and BUY !
19 June 2022

This is my first ever having an external monitor. Been using a 15.6'' laptop monitor for over 15 years and boy, what a threat. The 24'' in huge. Bought it for everyday browsing (not for gaming nor for graphic design) and I am 100% satisfied.Everything about it is great (solid build quality, great colour accuracy, insanely bright, anti-glare/matte coating and I love that you can tilt, move, rotate the screen at multiple angles). 2 Things to notice : The screen is square (if you are used to rectangle monitors, it could be weird) and the speakers are subpar (very ''echoey'' ; though I use an external set of speakers).I don't have a lot of experiences with other high end monitors, but this one fully satisfy my needs.

Terrific small monitor
26 August 2022

Nice small monitor for a tight space. We've been using this for 3 months now. Color is great and the 1920x1200 (vs the 1920x1080) is super for editing and document work. The extra bit doesn't sound like a lot, but I keep the dock/bar at the bottom of my screen and the difference is noticeable and appreciated. My wife is sensitive to the blue light, and loves the quick adjustment ability to make the color warmer (basically 2 clicks on the monitor frame). She also like the on-screen grid overlay for photo projects. Have also used it for docked Nintendo Switch play, which again was great. I purchased this as a second for an extra desk we have, and now I'm looking at getting the bigger version for my primary monitor.
