Asus ROG Strix 31.5" Curved HDR Gaming Monitor XG32VQR

This is one of the best value monitors out there!Yes there are better monitors out there but not for any where near this money. This monitor offers the best quality and features at a sensible price. I’m not tight and I don’t cheap out on things but, I’m also a realist I’m not going to go out and spend 2.5k on a monitor. So when you balance the price against the compromise in features this wins out against a lot of monitors twice it’s price. It’s a beautiful panel, really very impressive colours. My only gripe about this monitor is the stand. It takes up half my desk so I’m going to have to rearrange the office layout. But it’s sheer brilliance negates my misgivings. A Solid Gaming Experience

I bought 3 of these for a surround setup, for which they work perfectly. The tiny bezel results in a barely noticeable bar between each screen, and the subtle curve works wonderfully.(-)As expected from a VA panel, the colours can appear washed out at times, particularly in darker scenes. There are a few colour profiles to choose from on the OSD that can amplify/minimise this when tweaked properly, but overall it's not terribly noticeable.Additionally I'm coming from an IPS panel which is why I expect I notice it more.At 31.5" the 2560 x 1440 resolution becomes less sharp than some might be comfortable with, mainly on text. The preset profiles are okay, but I imagine most people will want to customise their settings themselves.The refresh rate is fantastic. I was previously using a 60Hz display, and the jump to 144Hz is greatly appreciated, even when using windows as normal. Ghosting is present but minimal, and can be reduced even more when using the OD settings on the display. It should go without saying that a high end system is needed to drive 1440p at 144Hz.The monitor has a pretty aggressive look, but I think it's subtle enough not to be over the top. The RGB on the back is pointless due to its positioning and brightness but I suppose some may make use of its presence.The stand quality is great and feels very secure, and the red accent is a nice touch. I'm not sure how I feel about the customisable lighting on the stand, I may enjoy it more with my own lighting filter but I don't see why this part couldn't have been RGB, seeing as it's actually visible by the user.Overall this is a great monitor that is sure to provide a fantastic gaming experience, and it's certainly the one to buy for a high end surround setup, if that's ya thing.

Beautiful Monitor but with flaws

The monitor is beautiful. 32 inch 1440p is amazing. The curved display is a cherry on top. With this said, the current unit I have is actually my 3rd. The first 2 had different issues. The first one I had had a stuck pixel. The second unit was showing a red vertical line randomly on one side of the monitor. No matter what I am doing, that vertical line would show up. I tried 3 different cables, same issue. Now, I am not sure the one I have right now has any issue. Fingers crossed. Thank you Best Buy for being so generous and taking the units back.

Don't be fooled.

Purchased 2 of these recently, one for the partner and I and we're currently having the biggest bout of buyers remorse. We used to have a 4-5 year old BenQ XL2720Z each. with their TN panel and 1MS response time, now going to this Asus VA panel with its 4ms reponse time, it's horrible. There is 0 way to remove the ghosting, ignore all the "Overdrive" settings and flashy talk in the product description, it's not going to happen, its a placebo effect. You can't call this a gaming monitor if the second you move your camera, the screen fills with motion blur. This is one of the biggest tech purchase disappointments I've had to date. Move your camera slightly, it's red tinged border of the ghosting image... just terrible. Playing Tell me Why last night, with all their dark and moody scenes and it just takes the fun out of the game. Even just moving a dark mode browser across your monitor when you've got a lighter background, it's terrible. Im very disappointed. Yes, I did see this was a VA panel but I did not expect it to be this bad. Excellent Monitor

Monitor has great image and curved shape is really nice - not too drastic. It's used for gaming and music creation (FL Studio) as well as regular office duties. Works great and has had no functional issues. Has been good straight out of the box.Note for wall mounting - we wall mounted this monitor and I needed to purchase longer M4 screws as the universal wall mount I used did not fit within the same housing as the stand that comes with the monitor. A standard VESA size mount should be fine, but something to be aware if planning to wall mount.

High hopes but low performance

It was bad from the start. Grey vertical bars about 2 to 3 in wide every 5 inches or so across the entire screen are visible whenever there is a lighter background. I tried to start a return but had to be hospitalized for unexpected surgery so I wasn't able to do the return in time. I'm STUCK with this garbage monitor. I've tried EVERTYHING to fix this issue but the problem is still present. I doubt Ill ever buy another monitor from ASUS.

My first impression are very good, the whole package looks like made of premium quality. Monitor aesthetics has a matte black finish, with red accents but nothing too gamer-flashy. The panel borders are very slim. At the rear is a circular RGB LED which is compatible with the ASUS Aura Sync app. Also, monitor has a down facing red light projector called Light Signature, this projects ROG motif onto your desk. You can make your own shapes or simply use one of the two standard ROG logo designs. Every game I tested look very good with excellent detail and almost zero rough edges (AA - off), no stutter, no tearing, no ghosting. Overall, this monitor delivered an enjoyable gaming experience. In the end, The ASUS XG32VQ provides an excellent balance of price, resolution with other features like refresh rate, screen size, and other advanced specs make this monitor highly recommended in this class. Good Points: Love the monitor, incredibly impressed with the looks of games with this. Love the Crosshair feature for games like call of dutyImprovement Points: The buttons on the back and the general playing with settings is a bit messy to do and you do figure it out and you won't have an issue once set up correctly.Fault of my own but 32 inch is probably too big for a desk, definitely would recommend down sizing to 27 if you sit up close to the desk. Luckily I have a shelf behind my desk where it can sit so I have managed to get the perfect experience

You can still crank all the settings up to ultra and hit well over 100fps.This screen is great, tiny bezel, solid metal stand, loads of features and functions and well designed osd. It's even got a number of RGB lighting settings to play with if that's your thing, although it can all be switched off of you don't want to use it.Freesync is far better than I expected and I don't think you could go back once you've tried it. White Spot (Update)

Would've given 5 stars if it was not for this white spot on my screen. I noticed it as soon as i turned on the monitor. I can only see it when the screen gets dark and It really doesn't bother me but I'm debating if I should replace it and go through all that hassle to wait for another replacement. [UPDATE] So I decided to exchange the monitor after all. I didn't want to risk the marking on the screen to get worst. The return/exchange process was seamless and took just about 2 weeks to receive the new monitor. There were no issues with new monitor. No dead pixels or white streaks and works just fine.
