I love this laptop. It's powerful and beautiful. It feels premium, the keys are responsive, and it's fast. I loved even the details of the packaging. I purchased this to play games, complete work and research. I have had no issues with it. The GPU kicks on when it needs and I haven't noticed and extra loud noise or whine. Some have said it's heavy but that's not true for me. I came from a little older Acer nitro 5 17" and this feels lighter. The keyboard is deep so it feels spacious and puts the screen back to a comfortable distance. The speakers are fantastic and I love the lighting effect. The design of the exterior is enough to let you know it's a gaming laptop while not being in your face. So far I've played Starfield and Cyberpunk both and have had no issues. ... MoreI love this laptop. It's powerful and beautiful. It feels premium, the keys are responsive, and it's fast. I know nothing of PC specs or PC gaming, having always been a console gamer, but I couldn’t ignore all the great titles I wasn’t able to play! The issue was, I work from home and have zero desire to sit at the desk gaming after work, especially with the kids home after school. So a tower was out of the question.I did some research and the ASUS Strix had phenomenal reviews, and with it having everything I needed except a mouse, it made sense to invest in an all encompassing machine.I didn’t want to stretch to the top model so went somewhere in the middle. I’ve no idea what the top model would produce, as my gaming laptop is an absolute monster, producing silky graphics on Ultra, 80 / 100+ frames and is incredibly quiet, yes it has fans but if I don’t have a ... MoreI know nothing of PC specs or PC gaming, having always been a console gamer, but I couldn’t ignore all the great titles I wasn’t able to play! The issue was, I work from home and have zero desire to sit at the desk gaming after work, especially with the kids home after school. Good day everyone, I wanted to write a review about purchasing the Asus ROG Strix (G614JJ) laptop. I bought the laptop at the beginning of April. After installing Windows and fully setting it up, I noticed that the camera wasn't working. I contacted technical support and followed their recommendations, but nothing changed. I had to arrange for a repair, and currently, I'm without a laptop and don't know how I can study. This was the last time I bought something from Asus. Next time, I'll buy Lenovo; I've never had problems with them no matter what I did, but here, right out of the box, there are issues.

I am facing lots of issues with this laptop .1. When I am increasing or decreasing the laptop brightness it dosen't works .I have to click on the percentage of brightness that i want and then i have to restart my laptop .2. Sometime the laptop screen starts tearing for some seconds like 2-5 .3.When I am plugging my ethernet cable into it .It does not detect it .and when I am plugging same ethernet cable to another laptop it detects. Please Asus this is my first gaming laptop please fix this .
The rog strix g16 is a beast. The I9-13980hx chews up whatever is thrown at it. The mobile 4070 will run AAA titles with all the highest settings turned on at 1080p with frame rates well over a hundred. There are two gen 4 nvme slots. One has the installed 1tb drive the other is empty. The 16gb of ram is two 8gb sticks of ddr5 running at 4800mhz. Both sticks are user removable. They can be easily upgraded to 64gb running at 5200mhz. I believe there is also a 32gb kit out there that will run at 5600mhz. Though I can not actually confirm this. I am not sure if upgrading the ram will void the warranty of the laptop but it usually does so be forewarned. The connectivity ports are more than adequate. On the left there is the barrel jack for the included 280watt power ... MoreThe rog strix g16 is a beast. The I9-13980hx chews up whatever is thrown at it. I am not sure if upgrading the ram will void the warranty of the laptop but it usually does so be forewarned. The connectivity ports are more than adequate. On the left there is the barrel jack for the included 280watt power supply. An ethernet and HDMI port. Two USBC ports. One of them I believe is a full featured thunder bolt with display out. The other a USBC that can charge the laptop with up to 100w pd delivery. On the right there is two USB A gen 3.1 ports. On to the weakest point of this laptop... The screen. It is a 1080p with a 165hz refresh rate. The colors are pretty nice. Brightness is okay. The downfall is is the backlight bleed through. It is pretty bad. On my unit, while on a black screen all four corners exhibit bad led bleed through. On anything but a black screen it goes I noticed. I can not comment on the battery life as I have not and will not use it on battery. I would guess if you got 3 hours out of it with the 4070 running you'd be lucky. All in all this is a very powerful laptop for 1080p gaming/ video editing that can be upgraded with another drive and more RAM. I write this on 4/28/24 I purchased the laptop a week or so prior for under 1700 bucks. I am very satisfied with the purchase. I highly recommend it!
Overall, this was a great price to performance laptop. Great build quality, and easy to uprgrade ram/memory It performs well enough in games I tested. Obviously, it’s not going to put out 4k ultra settings with ray tracing, but you can make most current games look good and maintain a frame rate over 60. It also keeps fairly cool while gaming. Would recommend for someone looking for an affordable laptop who still wants to do some moderate gaming.Only gripe is that there’s no dedicated numberpad, which isn’t a huge deal since I use an external keyboard.
Absolute a excellent and outstanding laptop for gaming, I upgraded from ROG GL552VW. The only downsides are as below:- has only 2 USB Gen 2 type A ports and both are on the RIGHT side, I was expecting it to have at least 3, need to purchase USB hub if necessary- no DVD Rom, this is acceptable- no in-built SD card reader, but my good old GL552 has- cannot fit HDD for data storage, only SSD NVMe SSD- no numpad on keyboard, I used it a lot- no fingerprint unlockThis is my very own review, dont get me wrong, its quite a go-to gaming gaming laptop
I am the user of MacBook Air for a long time. I am still using it without any problem at all. I bought Asus RoG because I have to use PC because some drawing programs which doesn’t work on Mac. I chose a powerful PC that I was thinking. The screen is getting dark quite often while computer is on. I am suspicious of graphic card. Operating system is frequently freezing. I don’t know that how many times I restarted the PC . I saved the lights effect but it changed itself. Waste of money. Brand new PC doesn’t give any notice when the battery dead. I newer recommend it. Thank you very much.
The PC has been returned. The laptop was extremely fast but that's not the only reason to buy one.The main problem was the keyboard. The backlighting with the multicolored lights was awful. Even after I set it to only one color, the lighting was uneven and not helpful at all. And finally, the font used for the keyboard lettering was so unusual, obnoxious, and fancy, it looked like dung.Where was the ten-key, other 16in laptops still have them. Why wasn't this available in 17in. Why do you have an LED strip around the edge. Why have see-through keys.Simply put, I was not happy with the ergonomics of the entire PC.
Honestly, I have no idea what is wrong with this model. Usually l am the type of person who uses electronics super carefully. When I first bought this model, it has a reboot problem, so I made a refund. And I bought this same model again, after about a week of using it, three issues appear: 1. When Nvidia Advanced Optimus is switched to automatic, for certain games it won't switch for you, and the screen is stuck and black, and you can still hear the sound of the game. This issue can only be fixed where you manually switch to gpu only before you play any game. Screen is a really common issue on this laptop. Within one week l have experienced three times. I ran every check l can, check the integrity of my system file. Update everything l can: Bios, GPU drive, windows ... MoreHonestly, I have no idea what is wrong with this model. One day when playing music with Spotify, the screen suddenly stuck, and the music become loud noises. After force shut down, I run system check, hardware check, everything l can do, no issues were found. Thought music is fine now, l am afraid this issue would show up again someday 3. Wifi connecting issue, other devices were fine with my home wifi, but this laptop sometimes would ask me to reconnect. This laptop has great performance and cooling system without doubt. However, so many issues with asus gaming laptop. My last gaming laptop was also asus, l really hope they can improve user experiences on those aspect. My other friends who use lenovo gaming laptop or any other brands barely experienced those annoying problem like l do. Noticing that this is just my first week of using it, so many issues have already appear.
