Build quality and aesthetically it feels and looks like a premium product. I am leaving out any comments on pricing because if you want to have the best you have to pay for it. I have found only 3 minor downsides to the card however none of them deal breakers or affect performance. The first is the cable length, the cable is so short that all of the 4 8pin cables are showing in the case instead of being long enough to run the single cable out of view. Asus really needs to step up their game. A 4090 coming in DOA is completely unacceptable given how long these cards have been on the market. I'm running a Titanium rated 1600w PCIE 5.0 power supply that works 100% with another 4090 of the same model, 3080ti and a 2080ti, so this clearly a card specific issue that's present. If you see a red light on the cards PCIE 5.0 connector, you're likely going to experience the same behavior that mine did. The previous 4090 I had experienced coil whine and random black screens, so I'm going to lean towards poor quality control on the Asus side, which if anyone has been paying attention this company over the last 10 years has notice a steady decline in overall reliablity. My advice to anyone who has 30-60 days of a return ... MoreAsus really needs to step up their game. My suggestion is to steer clear of Asus if you can and go for a card from MSI or a founders card. At least then you will get some that feels like it's worth your hard earned cash.

This review will not be about the card itself yet. Rather this will be about the shipping method. It’s no secret that 4090s are very expensive and STILL, 1.5 years after launch, hard to get your hands on. Finally, I was about to get one ordered successfully. Well, that joy turned to worry when UPS arrived to deliver my 4090. They walked in and handed me the box just as you would recieve it in-store. No packaging box, no protection, nothing whatsoever. The box shows clear signs of damage and mishandling, which can be seen in the pictures provided. This is absolutely unacceptable for Best Buy to be shipping high-end fragile electronics in this manner. All I can do is let other know to be careful and inspect your package. I’ll have my fingers crossed everything works ... MoreThis review will not be about the card itself yet. Rather this will be about the shipping method. I have tried everything I can to get this card to work in my system. I returned the first one I purchased and received this new one a few days later and it still doesn't work. I have spent countless hours over the last 6 weeks on the phone with ASUS and they have offered to RMA the card but I am afraid it would take too long and that the issue is in the drivers and firmware. My current setup is an ASUS Z790 Maximus Hero and a 13900K with 64GB of G.Skill 6400 DDR5 RAM, a Seasonic 1000w PCIE 5.0 PSU, a Samsung 980 Pro 2TB SSD, a Corsair 360 AIO with LCD, and an EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra and it works great and I wanted to upgrade the 3090 to this new 4090 and it will lock the power draw to around 50 watts and won't work. I have reinstalled Windows from a USB drive and tried everything recommended from ASUS technical support. The weird thing is that the 4090 will work if I put it in my Z490 I9-10850K system. I am running out of time and patience and will probably just return it. ASUS has blamed my memory and CPU, both of which work fine with the 3090 installed. This thing cost too much money to not be plug n play. Their customer service and technical support is also subpar to say the least. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this.

This, of course, came as quite the surprise to me as it's very much NOT an issue for the 4090 Founder's Edition. Even with the panels of the computer case removed, any coil whine, even under max load running the same game and settings, is seemingly inaudible. Now, at the end of the day, it might not be an issue for some people, maybe even most. If you have your fans running max at all times, wear headphones or listen to music while gaming, or are happy to kneecap it's performance (Why even get a 4090 at that point?) you'll *probably* be okay. However, for being an inch away from $2,000 (w/ tax) while the $1,700 (w/ tax) competitors, including the card directly from Nvidia itself, have little to no problem with it? Yeah, that's a deal breaker for me.

Assetto Corsa, ACC, Automobilista 2, F1 22 and 23, and Iracing all high or epic settings without DLSS.Biggest improvements were Assetto Corsa. I was able to run Pure and increased other settings. Sometimes I get quick glimpses of feeling like I'm really on the road chasing a car down. ACC is much better too. I don't have to use the generic trees or shadows anymore. Trees look much better and cars don't look like they're floating anymore. Mirrors look better. Automobilista 2 is where the 4090 shines. AMS2 just looks absolutely like eye candy. Especially if you change the time settings to progress faster and you see the skies go from day to night. Yeah buddy! F1 22 and 23 much more playable without screen tearing and now I can use ray tracing. Ray tracing was a big plus for me. F1 reflections are eye candy too. Iracing just has a more detailed environment.Other games. Amazing Spider-Man with all epics settings is what an 80s gamer kid dreams of. Microsoft Flight Simulator in VR is much more smoother. F1 22 in VR Epic settings is smooth as butter. Have yet to try ACC in VR. That will really tell me alot. Geez that game is so bad in VR.I was kind of scared of spending $2k but after all the improvements I've made in triple screen racing it makes me think "I couldve been doing this sooner when it was cheaper too". My advice, if you can, DO IT! You're missing out!

Fantastic. This is easily the best looking, best built 4090 version out there. The enclosure is all solid aluminum and the thing must weigh 3-4 lbs. You will definitely want to install the support leg. It’s nice and understated with a single LED logo you can control through the Armory Crate app. It runs cool and quiet and will calmly power through any game. The fans turn off completely when the card isn’t working heavily. I use this with a 120Hz 4K monitor and have no troubles getting that frame rate at Ultra settings. An angled 12-pin connector is highly recommend as the sheer size of this card might necessitate bending a normal plug and that can lead to burning it out. I’m not so sure about the value of the OC edition vs the base card. Right now overclocking a 4090 seems like overkill. But it sure works great. So for those scores I’d give it 4/5 on value because the base card probably performs just as well for $200 less (Best Buy didn’t carry that model however) Quality 5/5 I’m not sure how you could built a sturdier card. Ease of Use 4/5 this is not the easiest card to install, be sure to check the size and power connections. It’s a beast in every sense there. Highly recommend if it’s in your budget.

This card is high performance and meets all benchmarks as expected so there’s not much to say there except you can hit crazy FPS using ultra settings. Due to this being the top performing card currently available I’ll only focus on the downsides. Firstly the thing is huge. I’ve put it in a 1000D super tower and it barely fits but I had to remove custom loop components in order to do so. Make sure you have the space to install this before you buy. Make sure you have a PSU that’s up to the task. The card temp is around 55c at full load with stock air cooling. Hopefully once I get a water block for this it will improve the temperatures but not sure how long I’ll be able to tolerate the ear piercing screeching from the coil whine of this card.

This graphics card is literally the best at this time. Performance in 4k is amazing compared to my 3080ti. Temps are alot better than the 3080ti also. In starfield with everything maxed out dlss quality frame gen on, i get about 105fps average. The lowest i saw was 92. The max temps were only 60 degrees. Which is crazy. There is also zero noticeable coil whine while playing games. All 4090 perform the same when it comes to gaming. The tuf is the best looking card by far. Build quality is very good. If you're buying this card make sure you have enough space in your Case. I only gave 4 stars because of the price otherwise it'd be 5 stars. I'd definitely recommend this card if you're in the market for a high quality card.
