What an exceptional gaming monitor with one millisecond speed it runs like lightning. I hooked up a cable 12 feet long to the monitor just send the signal and the lag was 0 the refresh rate was phenomenal the colors are crisp, and the features are outstanding. My opinion about Asus for the most recent purchases was not very bright but this Asus monitor brings back old memories of the quality involved and Asus's products, I was exceptionally happy with its functions.Deployment has mild issues in my opinion. Base stand of the monitor is attached with screws and the 2 inch Phillips screwdriver included in the package is cheesy - you will need a real handled screwdriver to get the four screws into the back of the stand. A tiny joystick type device that lets you select menu items both up, down, left and right, 2 HDMI & 1 display input, built in speakers, overclock options, 23.8-inch design fits squarely into my desk furniture with a reasonably slim frame ideal for people who sit behind a computer for both work and gaming. But really a super ACTION game monitor. You can easily navigate the features once you get accustomed to the rear facing menu buttons & joystick.

I have two ASUS ROG 1080p 180hz 1ms G-Sync gaming monitors that I purchased from Best Buy over 5 years ago now; and while I recently replaced them with two 4K gaming monitors for my main gaming computer, I do have 2 other computers that I run with one of them getting the two ROG monitors. When I got the opportunity to get an updated version of those monitors I thought “sure, why not?!?”. Those two ROG monitors were over $600 each back originally and I’m happy to see that the pricing of the tech has gone down but this monitor is just more of the same. What do I mean? Well, the options, except the built in speakers, seem to be exactly the same. I appreciate the built in speakers because I don’t have speakers for anything but my gaming PC (which has a gaming soundbar with subwoofer) but this is just not enough to warrant upgrading if you are like me and have some monitors which have similar specs. Now, all this said, I am in the process of moving and when moving the gaming monitors from their wall mounted dual monitor mounts to their OEM mounts I accidentally let 1 of them fall forward and into a box which put a small scratch on the monitor and took out some of the glass by way of a puncture. So, it looks like this monitor for my 3rd system is going to get repurposed already for my second system. So, I guess it is good that it is so close in spec to my prior ASUS ROG monitors because it is going to be replacing one of them. So, should you buy one? Well, it depends. Do you game? Do you want no ghosting? Do you want 1080p? Or do you already have a monitor which checks all these boxes? If you already have one with similar specs then I would skip this monitor. However, if you are upgrading from a 720p monitor, or if you have a 1080p monitor and want another sub-$200 monitor then I’d say go for it.

Also the most recent game I bought which I have been playing on this screen is roughly 6500x larger than the first hard drive I ever bought. It really is incredible how things have changed. I wanted this screen to be used both as my 3rd screen for when I am working on my PC and as my gaming screen to use at night. I usually use a larger screen to game but my PC is in the living room and wanted less light pollution in the room so my girlfriend can watch TV with no distractions from me and my gaming. I also needed a screen with a display port input. Which not only does this monitor offer but the ports are clearly marked which I have learned to appreciate after have one that inexplicably did not. I also appreciate how easy it is to adjust the setting on this monitor as well as the power saving mode. This monitor has been wonderful and is exactly what I was hoping it would be. Well maybe a better base as this one cannot be adjusted up and down, but I’ll survive. Also the speakers are pretty average at best, but I’m guessing most gamers are like me and use separate high quality speakers so not an issue at all. All in all I think this is a nice affordable option for high frame rate gaming. It looks amazing and has a very reasonable cost. If I had a friend looking for gaming screen in this price range, I would absolutely recommend it!

While there seems to be a lot of focus and buzz around 4K gaming these days, the fact remains that most of us aren't hooking our PCs up to 65" displays or using bleeding-edge graphics cards, and for the average desk, 24" at 1080p is a great size for most users, especially with a high refresh rate to match. In my experience, TUF is Asus' low-frills gamer line, and is usually more budget-friendly than their ROG products, and that seems to hold true here as well. The display is bright, vibrant, and fast, and packed with features made to appeal to gamers.I'd highly recommend once you've finished setting up the monitor, that you look the product number up on Asus' website and download their GameVisual app. It makes finding and changing all of the monitor settings as ... MoreWhile there seems to be a lot of focus and buzz around 4K gaming these days, the fact remains that most of us aren't hooking our PCs up to 65" displays or using bleeding-edge graphics cards, and for the average desk, 24" at 1080p is a great size for most users, especially with a high refresh rate to match. It makes finding and changing all of the monitor settings as easy as clicking on your mouse, and it's way better than trying to navigate through the monitor's OSD using the buttons on the back. I really wish every monitor had software like this. This also comes with an ICC color profile if that's of interest to you. I found the colors to be pretty accurate out of the box.Inside the box you'll get the monitor, stand, power cord, HDMI cable and a manual/setup guide along with warranty information. The stand is very basic, with the only adjustment being forward/backward tilt. I'd really have liked to have seen adjustable height at the very least. I found myself limited to 120hz with the included HDMI cable, but that might be the fault of my GPU. I was able to hit 165Hz (and eventually, 180hz) using DisplayPort. There is a 100mm VESA mount on the back with rubber plugs to hide the screw holes, which is a nice touch.I did have to go into the monitor settings and enable overclocking in order to enable the 180hz refresh rate, which I feel I shouldn't really have to do for a monitor advertised as being 180hz. Variable Refresh Rate (FreeSync) was enabled by default and was detected by Nvidia software as being g-sync compatible, and this is the first monitor I've used where I didn't have to turn that feature on manually.Apart from 7 different color/vibrancy presets, you can save custom settings, and the GamePlus feature gives you a variety of different gamer-centric overlays. You can choose from five different crosshair reticles to display, which can give you an edge in games that don't have one, you can turn on an FPS counter with an option to display frametimes, and you can set an on-screen timer for various intervals. The rub here is that you can only choose one of these things at a time. You can't display crosshairs while also showing FPS, for example. The FPS counter is sort of large and obstructive, and while you can move it, it can't be resized, so you'll probably just want to rely on one of the many software options that are out there for this purpose. In actual use I found the monitor performed beautifully. With g-sync enabled, I experienced no screen tearing whatsoever during my testing. FreeSync Premium means that VRR will work between 48-180hz, and it has low-framerate compensation below 48. HDR isn't a feature that the monitor has, which I expected for a model in this range.Colors were mostly accurate with a high level of vibrance and I didn't experience any form of smear or ghosting in testing. There was a little blockiness on deep gradients shown onscreen, and in dark scenes the screen tended to pick up ambient light in the room as very soft reflections. There wasn't any notable form of light bleed, and IPS glow was average.Overall, I'd say this is a great gaming monitor for anyone trying to squeeze the most out of their hardware at 1080p.
The ASUS TUF 23.8" is a great gaming monitor and perfect if you have limited desk space and want a gaming model that has plenty of extras. Out of the box, ASUS includes a HDMI cable and a standard power cable (no brick power required) which I like. Bezels are very slim. The stand requires it to be screwed on, but ASUS includes a screwdriver tool and all of the screws. This was all easy. I will say that the stand isn't height adjustable, you can adjust the tilt a few degrees (there's no rotation). It's high speed with 180Mhz Refresh and 1ms Response - so great for gaming, I didn't notice any tearing playing any FPS games in game mode when using Freesync. It has Freesync premium, which I wasn't even aware was a thing - but this gives you variable refresh rates. The big thing on monitors is always how good are the blacks, I found them deep, dark, and there was obvious light bleed around the edge of the screen. The On Screen Display (OSD) and Controls are easy and intuitive, little joystick like control for navigating menus, but of note, ASUS offers free DisplayWidget software on ASUS.com if you want to control via your PC - I didn't do this, as I don't like using 3rd party apps, but it's good to know it's an option if you want it.Worth noting it has 2x HDMI and 1x Display Port. This would make it a great dorm room monitor. What would make it perfect, if the standard offered height adjusts as well as tilt, it would be a 5 star 23.8" let's round it up, 24" monitor.
This is a great gaming monitor for the price. I bought it to replace a 2 year old 24" Gigabyte gaming monitor that started going bad and this monitor exceeded my expectations. The colors are vibrant and crisp, it has all of the little luxuries for gaming such as crosshair, stop watch, etc. It does come with a 2 watt speaker built in, which obviously shouldn't be expected to be some kind of THX monster it's more comparable to a cheap set of Five Below speakers, but it actually helps me a lot since my PS5's audio tends to lag and drop from time to time (issue with my mixing board) and it keeps the immersion going somewhat during gaming sessions. Besides gaming I use it as a second monitor for music, graphic and video production, which it has been perfect for. The old monitor is now used for keeping an eye on OBS when streaming. The stand it comes with is very low profile and not bulky at all, compared to my old monitor's stand which took up a considerable amount of desk space. It has multiple buttons on the right side of the back; power, quick select for settings, and the menu toggle stick, these are all conveniently placed and not difficult to reach at all. (Old monitor was a pain due to placement of the menu toggle stick)Overall this is a great deal for a budget monitor! I'll definitely buy another when my now third monitor finally completely goes kaput.
he ASUS - TUF Gaming Monitor is quickly becoming one of my favorite gaming monitors. It has a 23.8" IPS FHD 1080P Display with 180Hz, 1ms, and FreeSync. The included monitor stand cannot be adjusted up or down in height, but you can adjust the tilt angel of the screen. The screw holes are covered by rubber plugs that can be easily removed. The back of the monitor has 6 control buttons. They’re used for Power On/Off, switching to between video presets, and various settings that can be customized or adjusted to your liking. You can enable overclocking, adjust the refresh rate, etc. The monitor has 2 HDMI ports, 1 Display Port, and 1 headphone jack. The headphone jack is useful for plugging in external speakers or headphones. The monitor also has its own built in speakers. This can come in handy for desktop systems that don’t have speakers, which will allow you to use the speakers on the monitor. They’re not HD quality speakers, but they’ll get the job done. The screen has great detail and it also has a matte finish which helps reduce light glare. Overall, I’m really enjoying this monitor and hope to get years of great use from it while playing high quality games and other tasks.

That's because the actual ports for these interfaces are recessed on the monitor in a way that makes seeing them from a fixed standing position difficult. The rear of the panel houses meshed buttons and a rocker switch for the OSD screen settings. Buttons that blend really well with the contour and other elements of the rear panel. The rear of the monitor includes two mount locations, the included stand mount point, and a standard VESA mount. This is an area I've previously overlooked and purchased monitors that use the same locations for different mounting methods. This minor detail may become important to you if you do not intend to mount it to any arm and later choose to mount a mini PC, lighting component, or some other accessory to the back of your panel. After connecting to your devices and setting them up on your desk, it's time to take it for a test run. With its low motion blur, high refresh, sRGB, and one of the game visual presets, playing anything I've tested gives it impressive visuals. Vivid colors, sharp images, fluid motion, little to no blur, darks that are dark and brights that are... well, you get the idea. The panel adds FPS and crosshair overlays to assist you in your testing, gaming, or as informational material. All in all, for a budgeted panel, this hits all the right boxes, giving you an impressive image quality that won't break the bank. You may need to tinker with it, between games and profiles, but this puts other panels in the same price range to shame. This is worth 5-stars.
Nowadays as PC gaming continues to grow, the number of peripherals only continues to grow as well. After testing numerous brands, ASUS continues to come out on top as they have only continued to do so here with this monitor.First, right of the box, it is evident that corners were not cut when it comes to build quality. The added FreeSync capability only expands on this to help eliminate stuttering. Obviously with all these features it’s tough to stop at times and thus the anti-glare and flicker-free technology allow for longer gaming sessions as they reduce glare and reduce eye strain. Also to assist in longer gameplay sessions are the built in speakers because when my headset died the speakers came in handy as speakers in monitors seem to be few and far between anymore. Two more features I do have to mention are the Shadow Boost and GamePlus features. First with the Shadow Boost it is exactly as it sounds where during gameplay sessions when you encounter dark areas the image is enhanced while at the same time not over exposing the bright areas. Then the two GamePlus features that are unique to ASUS that I have to mention are the ability to see real time the frames per second and refresh rate because this is reassuring to make sure my PC and monitor are running as they should for maximum use.Overall, this monitor not only stands out in appearance, but also does so when it comes to performance. Some may complain that it is not 4K to which if you expect all of these features on a 4K monitor then the price would be five times as much as this monitor. Thus, with the vast variety of features on this monitor it sets itself apart in the budget monitor category and therefore I would definitely recommend this monitor for any PC gamer.
The ASUS TUF Gaming 23.8" IPS FHD 1080P Monitor with 180Hz 1ms response time and AMD FreeSync is a budget high refresh rate monitor. This premium gaming monitor is one of the best bang for the buck 1080P monitor I have ever used period. The smoothness of this monitor when tested on my pc with a 3060ti still was able to put down very impressive FPS but when hooked up to my 7900XTX pc, I was simply mindblown of how well this monitor works on racing and FPS games as well as RPG games. I can also say using for graphic design is also improved when you are trying to get the most crisp and clean lines possible when drawing on the PC.The monitor can be hooked up via HDMI or Display Port from your PC. I used the Display Port when testing as a whole but I did use the HDMI out of the 3060ti for a bit and noticed zero cons when doing so. The screen had zero ghosting effects nor did it ever look blurry even in the fastest scenes. Racing games like Forza 7 looks absolutely stunning in 1080P on this monitor, to the point of I like is better over my S brand Ultra Wide, yes, I said it, the visuals are better and at 1/10 of the price.Colors look great on this monitor, very true to color when compared taking photos live then going to the computer and comparing the look between real and screen, incredibly the screen with zero adjustments and default settings on the 3060ti for testing, the colors looks amazing. The fast refresh makes movement of any sort look buttery smooth, I do not think it ever misses a pixel change, it is insanely fast for the price. The monitor also included a high quality HDMI cable and power cable, so you are ready to use right out of the box, no running back to the store. The only con to this monitor is it is NOT height adjustable, I do hate this as I needed to buy a screen riser to even it with the monitor next to it.I highly recommend this monitor for any budget or even not budget gamer.
