I couldn't be happier I did! When first turned it on, it was much clearer than my older monitor and boy was it bright! After a few minor setting tweaks this monitor is AWESOME !! I love it!The refresh rate is supper fast with the display port connected to my PC. (I have an Nvidia RTX3050 video card) No flicker at all!Another neat thing is, I have it hooked up to three P.C.'s and it auto select's the correct one no fuss!My only gripe is the adjustment button's location. They're on the back side of the monitor, lower right-hand corner, and they're a little hard to reach for me. Not much of a ding. I noticed that the monitor does particularly good with FPS and in low light and shadows. I am having a blast with it on Apex Legends as the monitor is responsive and shows zero lag whatsoever. Coming from a 3 year old monitor I'm noticing a huge difference. The only drawback I see really is the speakers. They're very poor quality and honestly just kind of feel like an afterthought. But honestly I use my headphones bout 90 percent of the time anyways, so its not a big deal! All in all I can't say enough about this Asus monitor. It's feature rich and has all the technology that you will need for the next few years as games catch up to the 280hz refresh rate! I am very happy with this monitor and you can't go wrong with it!

You can definitely see the 1ms response time and the high refresh rate at play. The “game plus” feature adds some nice bonuses to the monitor with adding crosshairs, an FPS counter, or a timer.I also tried this monitor out for productivity as well and it worked great. It has plenty of space for excel spreadsheets, word documents, tableau dashboards, whatever you throw at it.I did not have any complaints about this monitor.

Bad start, great finish

So is 4K or heck, even 2K resolution required for serious gaming? If not what is the most important spec? Actually using a 1080P monitor with a quick refresh rate and response time is a great target spec. That's where ASUS brings their TUF line of monitors to the game.I grabbed the TUF 27" HD monitor. The 1920 x 1080 with 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time at under $400 is a bargain! I love the switches behind the right side of the bezel where you can quickly adjust between preset contrasts depending on how you are using it. Expecially helpful is a dedicated gaming switch that allows you to change between game type such as Racing, First Person Shooter, Role Play, etc. The stand is solid with height adjustment as well as tilt and swivel. Expecially helpful is a dedicated gaming switch that allows you to change between game type such as Racing, First Person Shooter, Role Play, etc. The stand is solid with height adjustment as well as tilt and swivel. The stand also allows for you to chose portrait or landscape orientation. You can also shed the stand and VESA mount if that's your preference which is a feature often not offered on some equivalent monitors. It is Free-sync and G-Sync ready with HDR which really makes your screen pop (figuratively).I play a lot of FPS games and I can appreciate the quick response and refresh with minimum artifacts and ghosting making the action on the screen truly smooth and assisting in game play, now if my reaction time would improve and take advantage of the quality of the monitor. The bad start... Originally I connected it to an older gaming computer with a Radeon RX580 that is in our guest room. Unfortunately the computer would not even post with it connected so I switched back to the original monitor and it wouldn't post either. I disconnected everything, opened up the computer and cleared the motherboard CMOS and rebooted. Success!!!! Once it was in Windows I shutdown, switched to the TUF and it would finally boot. Once everything was working I played a little Division 2 on lower settings than I play on my main rig but it was very smooth and performance was limited by the graphics card.Great finish... I then connected the TUF to my main gaming rig, a mini ITX system running an Intel i9 paired with a nVidia RTX3060 Ti graphics card. I started up Division 2 and had almost everything set at high resolution and the graphics card and TUF monitor pairing really were impressive. No artifacts or ghosting while playing. Super clean. I plan on trying the monitor with my racing sim setup... although 27" is a bit small for an immersive experience I might just have to break down and get 2 more monitor to make the perfect 3 monitor setup.Other than the boot problem the monitor worked flawlessly and is a bargain at under $400. I'm a huge ASUS ROG and TUF fan. Between motherboards, AIOs, monitors and even cases their stuff is quality and with TUF as their value brand you know you are getting the the same high quality as the ROG stuff but at a value price.

Great monitor, dead pixels twice, annoying return.

It's a fine monitor, but didn't have the best experience with Best Buy. Purchased one from a BB about 1 hour away. I get back home, hook it up, and there is a cluster of dead pixels right near the center of the screen. The return process was absolutely humiliating. The tech was nice. She had to take it out of the box, check the serials (which is understandable), but then hook the dang thing up and examine the monitor... It took forever. People behind me in line irritated as ever. Ridiculous. They didn't have any more in stock, so I had one shipped from another BB. This one has a cluster of dead pixels as well... They are near the outter edge of the screen, but it's still annoying considering the price of this thing.... And I wasn't going to deal with BBs return hassle again. It's probably the best gaming monitor on the market if you have a mid-grade / 1080p rig. However, out of all the monitors I've ever owned, the only dead pixels I've experienced was with this monitor... Twice.

That said, it will probably be the last 1080p monitor i ever purchase. There can be some weird darkening issues with the dimming zones and the cursor but that's about all i've seenHDR-400 is kind of a joke but i'm not oging to complain about it with this monitor... it looks fine.I'm running htis monitor on one of my 3090 machines and it's painfully obvious that 1080p is kinda silly on this cpu/gpu combo (5900x/3090ti FE) ...Anyways -- 280Hz is very smooth but I also own a few 1440p IPS 165Hz monitors and going from 60hz to 120hz to 144hz is where i see the most diffference (120hz is actually decent for most stuff tbh since the physics engines run at 120 on a lot of games... I can see an improvement when bumping from 120 to 144 or 165... but going from there to 280Hz is for the hardcore of the hardcore... If you're not in that group, I would suggest sticking with 144/165 and getting the best monitor in those ranges, as there's a very high rate of diminishing gains going to a refresh rate this high to be honest. That all said -- it's a great monitor and if you want the biggest Hz on the block it's a solid monitor with nothing i have to complain about ... some people will notice pixels at 1080p on a 27" ... this is 1440p territory IMO ... 32" and up starts to become 4k territory (again IMO.... and the 27" 1080p is far more noticeable than the 32" 1440p.)I do not currently have any high refresh rate 4k monitors and don't plan on it until i get a 40-series card. I like high framerates and 1440p seems to still be the golden standard for good resolution and a place where current hardware can mostly always keep up with these high refresh rates.

Massive Contrast Ratio 100M:1
25 May 2021

I really like this 27-inch antiglare WLED monitor. The 'new' age will be a higher resolution monitor, with games getting to be more and more realistic, so that would be one thing to keep in mind, if a higher-resolution is something you want. This has a 1920x1080 max resolution, so it is on par with most things nowadays. The 100,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ration is massive, compared to the 1,000:1 standard ratio. The black picture is quite crisp.I did have to tweak the image some, but noticed some options for different types of viewing. For example, when I am watching my movies, I can select "Cinema Mode." For games that require fast movement, you can select "Racing Mode" and so on. Click the buttons on the bottom right side of the monitor to get the menu. Not ideal, since most are on the bottom, so dual monitors allow easy use. There is a shadow boost setting that makes it more clear when dark images appear. In games, I don't want to see the images blown out, but I also like to see more details that will help me see people in the distance, faster than I could make out anything in a lesser monitor. The speed is great, so no lag at all. I wish I could rotate the monitor like a swivel, but you have to take the monitor off the stand, and then put it back on, to rotate. Other monitors you can just rotate, and it snaps in place, but this one can do it, but just takes a little more effort, and not a quick rotate and change your computer display settings.Total pre-set display options are:-Scenery Mode-Racing Mode-Cinema Mode-RTS/RPG Mode-FPS Mode-sRGB Mode-MOBA ModeThis monitor does have small speakers in it, but you would never want to use them when gaming, as most people use noise cancelling headphones, or larger speaker. There are 2 HDMI inputs on the monitor, and 1 Display port, and a headphone jack. You get 1 HDMI cable, and 1 Display cable, so you can choose which you use, based on your setup. The base is quite small, for a 27" monitor, so that is nice, when I have limited depth to my desk.

Terrible choice if you want to use it for internet
8 May 2022

Bought this monitor yesterday after reading a lot of positive reviews and seeing the number of stars. But, unfortunately, I did not read the expert reviews on the site. I bought a gaming monitor not for gaming, but for daily work with text, coding, etc. And the first time I turned it on, I was just disappointed because of the ugly clarity of the text. It's like I turned on an old tube monitor in 1995. Each pixel in a bright image is seen as a separate square from 2 feet away. The text has blurry borders and shadow. It's just impossible to read for a long time. I have another Dell U-series monitor (Ultrasharp) and I use it without glasses. But here I went to put on my glasses, thinking that my eyes were tired in the evening after a long day. They give a very low rating for it as an office monitor, because after their tests it showed an ugly text clarity. So guys, if you're buying a monitor for a teenager just for gaming, this is probably a good choice. But if you plan to at least occasionally use it for text (for the Internet, for example), it will be just a failure. I am currently looking for something else, for working with text, etc., and I will return this monitor within few days.

The best monitor on the market, 5/5
26 July 2022

This is by far the best monitor on the market, not just for this price range, but easily until you get to the $900+ price range. There is simply no monitor that can compete with this beast for the price. I sold my Samsung g9 49 inch 240hz monitor for this... yes, and I do not regret it.The color accuracy is better than most 240hz monitors I've used in the $900+ range, surprisingly. The image quality is almost perfect, but it's completely to be expected for 1920x1080 and the price the monitor sits at. I still give the picture quality a 9/10 (I would give the samsung g9 a 6/10).280hz is the overclock on this guy (in the monitor settings), I have had zero issues with it, and it looks fantastic when playing FPS games. With a 1ms display to boot.Asus has set huge ... MoreThis is by far the best monitor on the market, not just for this price range, but easily until you get to the $900+ price range. There is simply no monitor that can compete with this beast for the price.
