Truly an incredible set of headphones. Compared to the DT1990 the highs are reduced but much more pleasant without any of the sibilance that is so characteristic of the 1990s. I believe the 1990s while EQ'd can come close to the warmth and lushness of the LCD2C, but they do not have the all present soundstage that the LCD have.The bass detail is greater on the 1990s and they extend deeper but they do not have the slam and heftiness of the LCDs. I feel if the bass is the criteria then this is simply a matter of taste. For large orchestral music I prefer the bass on the LCD since its more natural to the setting and the soundstage compliments the natural reproduction. You can't go wrong with either for bass but they just both aim for different targets. LCDs have a more natural bass and the 1990s have exaggerated and detailed bass.The LCDs take the highs for me for leisure listening. The 1990s are incredible workhorses and enable you to really pick apart the details across the spectrum but as a result, can be fatiguing over long listening sessions.Conclusion: LCD2C is more pleasurable and for enjoying the music whereas the 1990s while incredible for studio work can't match the musicality and easiness of the LCD2C.HD650 (balanced & with Dekoni Hybrid pads.) vs LCD2C: The sound signature that these two aim for is very much within the same umbrella but they both have very different ways of going about it.To keep it short, I've had my 650s for 7 years and I love them to bits! I 've swapped the stock pads on my 650s for Dekoni Hybrids and it really makes them more comfortable and enhances the bass response while preserving the vocal representation that these are known for. Compared to the LCD2C, if I had to pick one, I'd go for Audeze.The 650s (especially after the launch of the 6xx) are a steal and the best deal in audio in my opinion, but the Audeze is better! While the 650s are incredibly intimate, I find I can't enjoy tracks with vast arrangements on these nearly as much. The LCDs can be intimate when they have to be and be vast when needed. They're just more musical while having more present highs and an infinitely better bass in comparison.Conclusion: If you're thinking of upgrading from the 650s, then the LCD2C are it!The LCDs are incredibly well built, have such plush earcups that make them so comfortable to wear. They don't feel heavy on my head (the suspension head strap helps) and the memory foam earcups just hug your ears. I've worn these for over 6 hours on multiple occasions and have no complaints. They don't come with a case although the Hifiman case on HPZ works just fine for these.These are going to stay with me and it's a pleasure to listen to them.They're filled with detail without being harsh. They've incredible soundstage, temper the highs with no sacrifice in the mids and low end, and they're so incredibly musical that I'm rediscovering my library.I'd recommend that you do your research and read reviews and decide if these are for you. Before you make your mind I would recommend reaching out to the HPZ team.I was on the fence for months and after my conversation with Raghav, I went for these. He was incredibly helpful. so honest about the product and to put it bluntly, really knew his shit and these products and I couldn't be happier!So thank you to the team, a big shout out to Raghav for being so patient with my many questions and for really helping me pick a pair of headphones that I'm sure to pass down to my kids.If I had to pick a pair of headphones from the 3 that I have at the moment (and provided I didn't need the 1990s for work), it would be these. Hands down.

It does this whilst remaining fully composed showcasing great image separation decent sounstage depth, width and height. The liostening experience ers on the warm side witrhout being ultra personal like say a HD 650. I found the sonic signature to be similar to my Senheisser HD 660s but slightly more dynamic with better bass definition. This is true praise indeed as I rate the 660s as a true audiophile bargain even at £400..The headphone works great with a range of headphone amps. As audiophiles we know this and we choose whether to play the game or not. With all this in mind, I can honestly say that as an audiophile product the LCD2f gets my full recommendation and was, to me, worth the extra money.

The latest version of the LCD2 Classic, is wonderfully detailed without being in your face. I’m sensitive to overly bright gear and these headphones present a natural and balanced and revealing perspective on the music without any glare or hardness. They are, I feel more, comfortable than the non classic LCD2 as well as CLD-X that I also tried. Fairly easy to drive, even with a simple apple dongle to satisfying levels but plan to buy a desktop DAC/AMP in the future to get more out of them. Highly recommended these headphones and the Headphone Bar is a great retailer to deal with.

I had a pair of Audeze LCD GX that I bought partially for gaming and partially for music. They’re great gaming headphones, but the sound with music left me a little disappointed and feeling like they were a little bright. After reading some reviews and talking to others, I decided to buy a pair of LCD-2s open box from HeadAmp. Let me first say that these may have been open box, but I swear they were never even taken out of the amazing Audeze case. They were pristine.I plugged them into my amp/DAC and hit play on my playlist for auditioning new headphones and was blown away. The bass is super present, but not overwhelming. Best Headphones for the price, these really sound great, paired with a reasonable DAC Headphone Amp and connected to my Mac or Gaming PC, these have a good soundstage, good high, low and mid ranges and really enjoy listening to music with them. Gaming is good too but I need more time in FPS games to properly evaluate although early signs are good. Match my 6XX that I have been using. Scan were brilliant, next day delivery, arrived in perfect condition as they always package items really well. Just a great online retailer I have used a lot and would recommend to anyone. Also got great advice with past purchases of several components and pre built gaming PCs, thanks Scan!

Patience in the case was well rewarded as the added power(I have the headphone amplifier turned all the way up at 4000mw, probably overkill as Audeze says 1-4 watts) made a huge difference.I listen to a wide range of music and the headphones sound amazing with the only drawback being that even though music sounds fantastic and every vocal sung, string plucked and bass boom is beautifully delivered they also deliver every flaw that bad mixing or converting adds to the recording, even more so than my $400 pair of headphones. For people like me this can be a distraction but I have other headphones that I can use for the music made without any actual instruments that are filled with digital artifacts, you know studio keyboard mixes that synthesize actual instruments, and lesser quality DSD conversions. As a reference I do not own or play any music less than 16/44.1 and for the most part I have 24/48 and up files through to double DSD. All in all I love the headphones and when properly powered these are a thing of beauty which can not be faulted for bad source material. The headphones have helped me realize I now need to research more about the music I purchase and investigate how that "remastered" album sounds compared to the original.
I got theese from the Headphonebar around 2020. 2024 review. I got the HD600 from local piano shop and they are my go to for learning new music since 2018, rediscovering classics. But the LCD2 classic, they are for another genre or another mood. Electronic music? Audeze. Heavy rock? Audeze. Sirupeux, calming tones. Complements well the Senns. If you got an HD6xx or the like, this is a must, what does'nt sound great on one will do on the other. Why not buy both!My experience with this shop was always flawless. Theese were bought as an open box. Perfect stuff. No regrets, 100$ would trust again (and I had again and again since then).
I bought LCD2C for the second time after almost four years because I tried so many headphones but none suited my taste. I have been HD6XX/650 user for almost 8 years.If you are looking for better bass and soundstage than HD6XX, you look no further. This is it, just buy an LCD2C and be done with it. They have changed the pads, the pads are less thicker now and they are not memory foam now. They have also reduced the weight a little, they are a lot more comfortable for long listening now.The sound is more balanced now, the famous Audeze dip around 2-5k is a lot better now. But I am boosting the bass a little for my taste and it responds to EQ very well.It's waste of time and money if you are looking a better headphone with similar sound signature than LCD2C ... MoreI bought LCD2C for the second time after almost four years because I tried so many headphones but none suited my taste. I was sceptical buying Audeze for a long time as people brand them bass-canons and I am not a bass head. However finally buying and listening to these is an eye opener into what I was missing till now. Punchy, super thrilling tight bass but also great overall sound. No lack of clarity or muddy sound, just hefty sound. I highly recommend known and established brands like Sennheiser, Focal & Audeze to people rather than others. If you spend too much on any other brand, there's a big chance you will regret it, like I did.

The headband distributes the weight nicely across the top of my head and the clamping force is in between the HD800s and the focal clear. They fit comfortably on my head. I have used them for several hours at a time.-They sound amazing!!! The sound stage is wide and the imaging is very nice. There has been no distortion. Everything is fast and smooth. The music comes at you rich and full. You will hear every nuisance of the song. I am listening to everything again with such enjoyment because you hear every pluck of the guitar, cymbal hit, bass note. I swear I am hearing things I didn't hear before but that is probably just my mind.-The Audeze Revel+ plugin. I use Roon and Audivana Studio. Roon already has preset EQ for many Audeze headphones. The plugin works well with Audirvana Studio. I was a little confused by the price of 199 for the Reveal+ but I found out that you are paying that for the customization of the Aural mapping if you want it to sound like you are in a certain studio. The VST files you can use without paying.Cons-You will need an amp for them. I don't know if that is a con and if you already have an amp then it isn't. If you want to get the full sound of these headphones use an amp.-The drivers on your head are huge. Again don't know if that is a con as they for me are comfortable to wear.-Wish they came with 2 sets of cables. It only comes with a single-ended 1/4 inch input to an amp. I wish they had a 4.4mm pentaconn or a 4 pin balanced XLR cable. That's just my preference.-Depending on how you like your sound you will need to EQ them but that's what the plug-ins are for. Most headphones need some sort of EQ. I am in no way an expert at all in EQ. I listen to them without the eq and with and they sound better with the EQ on. They also sound good with it out.-Not for bass heads. Have very good bass but if you are into the thumping and pounding of the low end, these wouldn't be for you.Having said all that, audio is very subjective. In my opinion, it depends on how your ears are, the equipment you plug the headphones in, etc. Everyone likes what they hear. Some people like bass, some like it bright, and some like it analytical. These headphones are on a little of the warm side but give you every detail of a song.
