The LCD-Closed are great sounding and have a high degree of musical warmth. Only complaints, and they are minor, is the large cups and they can get a bit warm on your ears on a hot summer day. People have complained of the weight but I found them to fit really well and you really don't notice it.

Platinum plated music rays are flowing in and around of my neurons, Butterflies are glittering inside my skull .Crystal clear and powered more than my HD650 when combines with mojo.Even it sounds great with fiio E10K. Gorgeous and hefty but very comfortable too.I don't like the length of the cable and ending with 1/4 in pin. This is my 2nd purchase from the Headphone Bar. As an audiophile I have had so many experiences where the sales people try to up-sell you to a much more expensive product. That is not how it works at the Headphone Bar. The proprietor is the most honest person I have dealt with in retail hifi. He is very knowledgeable and provides great advice. My new headphones are fantastic! I couldn’t be happier.

I will start with saying Audio46 deserves their praises. They let me try out the Focal Bathy's while I was waiting to checkout. I was impressed how quickly they offer to demo the product fresh out the box. Awesome experience.The LCD-2 CB are excellent sounding cans. They have great bass response, detail, warm but clear mids, and excellent layering. The Sound stage is wide for Closed-backs. I prefer them over the DCA Aeon 2 and Noires. I think they just sound flat out better than the DCA's. I think for under $1000, these are probably the best. Build quality is superb and they came with a very nice carry case. I swapped out the pleather ear pads with Dekoni Sheep Skin leather pads immediately. The Dekoni's feel and fit much better. However, I feel your neck gets used to the weight and it also helps setting your headphones as tight as possible so they aren't just resting on your top of your head but rather clamped to your head. You'll know what I mean if you purchase these.FYI... Do yourself a favor and EQ these. I use the Oratory EQ and they sound much better. They sound good out of the box but I think they are more dialed in when properly EQ'd. For Windows, use Equalizer APO and Peace software.
After EQ to the harmon target, the sound is really stunning. Rich sound stage for a closed back headphone; it is almost unbelievable. However, despite how great this sounds, I just can't recommend it unless your listening sessions are very short (< 30 min). After a few weeks I developed extremely bad neck pain and headaches from the sheer weight of this product.
When I hear lightweight, I picture not feeling any compression or weight. They're not heavy, but they're not unnoticeable.
I debated before purchasing these due to the "too heavy" comments. THEY ARE NOT TOO HEAVY! They are perfectly comfortable for several hours of listening at a time plus..I wear glasses. The sound is wonderful, others have articulated better than I can.The cans are heavy in your hands but you don't feel the heaviness when you wear them.Get them!

However, the LCD-2's are NOT AS UNCOMFORTABLE as I was led to believe. Yes the LCD-2 are heavy and can slide a bit if you plan to use them while walking, working at desk or Gaming. Another 2-4 hours at 2/3 volume and they fully flower.The LCD-2's serve the artist's music to you and fully present the recording & mix engineers and in the case of vinyl the master makers pressers craft enabling you to fully enjoy hours of focused listening without fatigue.Are there better focused listening headphones....not at under $1000.
The build is above and beyond good. Not too heavy for me and the glove like fit makes it even more comfortable. It comes with one of the best stock cables as it is strong and easy flowing.This is not your typical warm closed back headphone. The level of detail retrieval and openness is class leading. More spatial goodness than many great open back cans at this level. The sound is very satisfying for long sessions of work, or play.This is not a mobile headphone, but it does have excellent passive noise isolation. It is on the easy side to drive, but I recommend using something with at least 1w of power to really hear it sing. Sounds great low, or loud.Great job on this one Audeze! Cheers!
I finally decided to upgrade from my Fostex TR-X00 Mahogany Headphones purchased back in 2018! Budget was around $1,200 or less and I needed closed backs due to my primary listening location. I bought the Audeze LCD-2 Closed Back from Headamp and separately picked up the Dan Clark Audio AEON 2 Noire with the intention to keep only one.Both were an upgrade in terms of soundstage and clarity from the TR-X00. The Dan Clark Audio AEON 2 Noire were great, but I felt the Audeze LCD-2 Closed Back soundstage was a bit bigger and unquestionably the Audeze's have a much stronger punch with drums and bass. The LCD-2 Closed Back's were just more enjoyable to my ears with a fuller sound compared to the AEON 2 Noire.
