BEHOLD I have my LP back from years of storage .This remarkable Audio Technica LP60XUSB has brought my music back to life! I have tested my favourite's Pop LP's & 45 speed Pop & Opera with Mario Lanza. Each & All music is Crystal clear! the base control on rear can be adjusted in output, ideal for Elvis. recording is easy using the USB lead provided to laptop. I included in my review the Violin Encores by Josef Sakonov & Brilliant Serge Rachmaninov Piano Concerto in C sharp minor as well as Peter Tchaikovsky plus many more type of music. I am well impressed with the performance of A T 60 & have already recommended it to others.

My original Sony ps-lx210 turntable finally failed, so I needed a replacement. I don't play much vinyl but haven't copied all of what I have to MP3. Great though the strobe edged Audio-Technica tables are, I went for a more minimalist look, not unlike the original Sony, with all the benefit of an integrated USB connection. Its great to be able to copy without using an amplifier and the turntable itself works just fine. Assembly involves fitting the belt which is dead easy and Audacity is a quickish learn if you haven't used it before. Full marks, does exactly what I need.

Basic no nonsense deck.

I've struggled with an old Tecnic deck, that had a 5p piece taped to the arm above the cartridge for years and the terrible sound through a pre-amp was awful. For the number of times I played my vinyl I thought it would do!Then I saw this deck and took the plunge. WOW! It has reinvigorated my interest in my old collection and it really sounds superb. How does it do that?Perhaps not a deck that the music hi-fi cognoscenti would gravitate towards but this is an ideal basic deck.Easy to set up out the box, the rubber drive belt took some finding, it was wrapped around the underside of the deck, and once found was easy to attach to the drive with the red pull cord.Nothing much more to say really,. Not used the USB yet but doubt that I ever will as most tunes are ... MoreI've struggled with an old Tecnic deck, that had a 5p piece taped to the arm above the cartridge for years and the terrible sound through a pre-amp was awful. Easy to setup and record from, doubles as a player for hi-fi
10 March 2022

Having had a cheaper USB deck in the past,I must admit I was a bit sceptical about the quality. Online reviews talk about the "plastic" and fairly cheap quality, but I find the deck to be nicely placed, suitably "retro" to fit in with existing hi-fi separates, but now doubles as a USB source that I can rip my rather extensive library to listen to digitally. The unit itself is a doddle to set up. Unpack everything, unstick the red ribbon under the platter and pull the belt gently through the hole on the platter, slide it over the spindle, and then use a pen or something similar to get the belt over the drive pulley. Some hi-fi buffs may be a bit aghast at the lack of fine controls for balance and skew, but to my eye, the setup is about perfect.Starting a disc ... MoreHaving had a cheaper USB deck in the past,I must admit I was a bit sceptical about the quality. Unpack everything, unstick the red ribbon under the platter and pull the belt gently through the hole on the platter, slide it over the spindle, and then use a pen or something similar to get the belt over the drive pulley. Some hi-fi buffs may be a bit aghast at the lack of fine controls for balance and skew, but to my eye, the setup is about perfect.Starting a disc spinning, the lever to cue the arm is a tad low-rent, but does the job, or you have the option of just pressing "auto" cue button, which worked flawlessly every time I tried it.Once up and running, the quality was fine as an entry level hi-fi separate, much like my old Project-1 turntable from back in the day. Sound was rich, soundstage full, and hearing the occasional pop and tick takes you back far too many years.I guess most reading this review will be waiting for the next part - how does the USB recording go? Well, when I used my old turntable there were very few instruction around, and tools had scant support for recording. Nowadays there are many articles on how to make a vinyl recording from a usb interface, including normalising the sound levels to get consistent behaviour between albums, how to automatically reduce inter track noise, get rid of pops and ticks, and also critically how to automatically split tracks. This last part was crucial for me to have a good experience, as the old way of manually editing a recording, finding the gaps, cutting the tracks and individually saving tracks took so long. Nowadays I can get a 40 minute LP, record both sides (there is an option to pause and continue for 2nd side), and finalising the recording can be done in about 20 minutes per LP (I expect this will come down as I get more used to it)Overall, although I have only used fairly lightly so far, this deck outperforms its price tag by some considerable margin. Hard to pick fault other than the rather flimsy cue lever, but elsewhere it does everything I wanted it to do and then some. So glad I bought it.Oh, and for those that use Linux, this review is from a Linux user. Works fine on Ubuntu/Mint/Elementary so far, the deck is recognised as a USB interface, download and run Audacity, set up interface in the settings, and you're up and running. Took a few minutes first time round, but nothing too onerous, and was probably more down to me using a USB sound interface in addition to send signal to my hi-fi over RCA connections. Online tutorials are based around windows, so even easier to use that route I would hope.

Edifier R1280DB Bluetooth Speaker & Audio Technica LP60X Turntable Wood / Standard + USB (LP60XUSB)
20 March 2023

Superb package deal, perfect for all my playing needs from old to new vinyl records, the speakers sound absolutely amazing and they got a really good bass punch for a small speaker set and you can control the bass/treble to get the right sound for any room they are in and the Bluetooth feature with remote control is and added bonus to link up music from your phone. Also the turntable is extremely good quality and very clever when a record finishes the needle lifts and the tone arm returns to the tone arm rest without having to touch anything. Would highly recommend the package and company. Prompt delivery

The edifier speakers sound awesome. If you like bass then these will do you. These speakers are sturdy, compact and pack a fantastic sound. I am thinking about adding an amp but not sure if it realy needs it. (Gotta do a bit more research and I'm very happy for any advice given to me.)The turntable looks snazzy and is very easy to set up.I can't grumble with the price either. It is well worth the money.Go for the bundle, you won't be disappointed.

Entry level turntable

I have already a Thorens TD150AB turntable which is 50+ years old. Great after-sales service
15 September 2022

I bought a turntable for my daughter's birthday but when I set it up it didn't work. After sales staff were really sympathetic and offered to arrange an exchange. I rang off and had another look, realising I had wrapped the belt not around the spindle but something that looked like one. But then when we played it, it distorted and skated over the vinyl ... aaargh! The Richer Sounds support on the phone just stayed calm ... no sution but still happy to exchange. And then I realised that the heavy speaker on the same shelf of a glass book case were setting up some serious sympathetic vibrations. Moved the speakers and all sorted. Attitude makes a big difference!

Richer Sounds, Holborn.
15 November 2022

I recently bought a Audio-Technica turntable as a Christmas present for my young nephew. I have a regular turntable but he wants a USB version. I went to the Holborn branch, knowing nothing about USB turntables. I spoke to Darren in the shop who could not have been more helpful. He explained how they worked, how to use one and recommended a couple that were available in the store. After due consideration - and more explanations from Darren - I made my choice. I haven't used it yet so I can't comment on the product but I can certainly recommend the level of service that I received from Darren at Holborn -very impressive. Full marks all round!!

Terrific Value for Money!
9 October 2022

This turntable is perfect for my intended uses. I have quite a large collection of 1960's and 1970's LPs in good to excellent condition and I wanted to listen to them occasionally and to transfer some of them to CDs and MP3s. Listening is via my Yamaha AV amp, and the USB lead is connected to my PC via a 5m extension lead.Sound quality is very adequate for my purpose, and recording using the recommended Audacity software works well in both WAV and MP3 formats. Audacity looks a bit daunting at first, but following the tutorials makes it quite easy to use. Results of my first three efforts, including burning CDs using Windows Media Player, are excellent and have exceeded my expectations. I am very happy with my purchase!
