Best bang for the buck headphones.

For the price class I think this is the best sounding pair of headphones you can get. I bought these after watching Warren Huart's video (Produce Like a Pro) comparing headphones and he was really amazed at the quality and he wasn't just saying that either. These are awesome. You can hear the really deep bass rumbles and the overall sound is nice and defined without being too harsh in the highs. Really excellent. I can recommend them. I prefer them over the AKG K-240's that's for sure. They are very comfortable to wear. Shame the cable can't be detached though.

Great sound quality although I'm no audiophile, super light and comfortable. The ear cups are a standard universal fitment so you can swap them out for others that may be deeper or more comfortable. The battery life also lasts a surprisingly long time considering as I said how light they are. Bluetooth range is great as well. I use them as a tradesperson off and occasionally on the job, I take decent care of them but they have been squished and dropped several times and seem to hold up just fine. If they did eventually break I would without a doubt buy them again!

I love these headphones but there is one item which makes me give it a 4 star instead of a 5 star rating; if I could I would give it a 4 1/2 star rating. The problem that I have with it are the buttons to control the various features. These three button sit right next to each other and it is very difficult to distinguish them. The other issue is that the middle button is used to power on and power off (with a two second press) and a two second press is also used for some other function as well. Whoever designed this interface did not put enough thought into this design. So if you are considering these headphones just be aware of this issue. As I said from a performance standpoint I love them: rich full sound; they sit very comfortably and I can wear them for hours ... MoreI love these headphones but there is one item which makes me give it a 4 star instead of a 5 star rating; if I could I would give it a 4 1/2 star rating. Low cost perfection!
7 December 2022

Audio Technica has always set the bar on how a good set of lower cost headphones should sound, and this low cost foray into Bluetooth headphones definitely fits that scenario perfectly. It has no fancy noise cancellation, no wiz bang features at all really, but boy does it nail the basics just right. The lows mids and highs blend together so well that you'll find yourself looking for a reason to keep on listening to that old playlist you got bored of months ago. The quality is there with strong plastics and lots of adjust ments for even the biggest head as well. I've listened to them for up to 6 hours straight on a trip and never felt uncomfortable the entire time. Honestly, for the money you really can't ask for more. Highly recommended!

Most Comfortable in Price Range
15 December 2021

I tried to cheap out and buy some budget headphones from another site. There were just enough issues to annoy me. I should have started with these ATH-M20x headphones and I could have been done with my search. Comparing comfort, my first-purchase headphones were just big enough to almost fit over my ear, but required some assistance every time I put them back on which became annoying. The ATH-M20x is a perfect fit. I've owned some comfortable headphones over the years, but these take a commanding lead! Cable length: The ATH-M20x cable is long enough to plug in to my computer under the desk and allow me to still scoot over to my bookshelf about 4 feet away. As for audio quality, I'm not an expert but it sounds more natural than other headphones in this price range. ... MoreI tried to cheap out and buy some budget headphones from another site. I'd would've given this 4.5 stars if possible. The only downside is the bass is a little dull for my preference, but at least it's not overbearing or hollow.

Sounds great, but I ended up returning it
7 January 2023

First off, these headphones far exceeded my expectations. I really didn't expect too much given that these were Audio Technica's level entry model of ATH-M lineup and were in the low-hundred dollar range. However, once I put them on, I was surprised at how crisp and clear they were. Battery life is excellent and if you don't have time to give it a full charge, just 10 minutes is enough to hold you over for a while until you do. I ended up returning them because the headband doesn't have distinct clicks and are only held in place by friction, so I was constantly adjusting and readjusting them whenever I put them on. Even when I had them on, there would be times the cups would slide down just from me moving around. If I didn't readjust, the cups would fall too low and ... MoreFirst off, these headphones far exceeded my expectations. If I didn't readjust, the cups would fall too low and rest on my lower jaw bone and it would get uncomfortable. That said, I was impressed enough with the quality of these that even though I returned them, I ended up purchasing the ATH-M50x (I didn't really need bluetooth). Not only do they address the headband issue of the ATH-M20xBT, but they sound even better. If you don't think the sliding headband is an issue, I think these are a great buy, especially if you can pick these up when on sale.

Super bargain for superlative performance
14 January 2023

A terrific bargain. Audio Technica. Even without noise cancelling, they block noise and have an AMAZING range! Love these things. The only sad thing is that BB does NOT carry any AT products so you have to order them sight unseen. Ditch BEATS which are junk. These are FAR BETTER at a fraction of the BEATS gouging, er ah pricing. You can do mixing and editing with these AT cans. And listen for hours and Hours, AND HOURS on a charge. Great product.

Update To My 1st Review
6 November 2022

You can read my first review to get my overall take on these headphones. I wanted to edit that review but it seems like on B&H Photo you can't edit your own review. They should fix that. But to the point: After quite a long time I have to say that I have gotten used to the proximity of the buttons and while I still think that Audio-Technica should consider re-enginerring them, I don't think now that they are as onerous as I felt during my first review. I have upped my rating to 5 stars: I am even more sold on the quality and sound of these headphones and one extra plus! I discovered that it is quite easy to pair them with the TV and with my iPhone at the same time. Very useful feature.

Have been using these headphones for a bit over 2 years now and they're still good as new. Very good build quality!! About me: Amateur music producer, haven't made a single penny from music yet. But between these headphones and a pair in similar price range which isn't made for the purpose of being studio headphones, you can clearly notice the difference. When I change basic knobs in FL Studio such as the frequency dial, the variation is very evident, unlike normal headphones where you can't tell whether much has changed because they don't give you flat feedback. This is amazing and so close to how your sound should sound. Love it!!!

Very good for the money
2 June 2022

Decent sound, good build quality, and long battery life. The microphone is adequate for answering calls and short conversations. You would probably want to switch over to a more professional headset for longer meetings where having a good quality microphone is important. I got these for my wife. She had previously been using a pair of AKG K240 phones for watching videos on her laptop. I got these to "un-tether" her. She is very happy with the sound quality.
