I realise there are other better equipment options out there but at a cost I am not prepared to meet bearing in mind my limitation is room size. The 9000A is the final piece enabling me to enjoy my music collection to a level I have not experienced before in this house. Delighted and amazed at what a difference it has made from when I first had a PYE CAMBRIDGE radiogram back in the early 1970's. When 9000A is run in integrated mode (I use a second set of speaker cables) the results are equally outstanding albeit a little warmer or softer but still very detailed and open. Wish I had this system years ago. I hope this helps you decide if it is for you.

Give it 2-3 hours warm up. Then be amazed. Up to 1 hour it doesn’t seem much better than the 7000A. After that it is WAY better.

Audiolab Convert!

An excellent product from Audiolab and excellent service from Richer Sounds.The aim was to replace my broken CD Player, through testing a number of players I settled on the Audiolab 9000CDT. I was told that they would try and make sure my amp and CD transport will be delivered next day and they were true to their word.

I didn't expect this would win me over!

After purchasing the 9000CDT my OCD kicked in and I wanted everything to match, work off one remote etc etc so thought I’d give the 9000A a trial. When I first listened to this amp, I didn’t like the sound and thought “oh well, back it goes”. Before packing up the amp that night, I decided to give it another listen as it’s being playing at low volumes in the background for a day or so. I couldn’t understand what happened as I experienced clarity from my speakers which I’ve never experienced before. Vocals seemed to have uplifted from my existing amp and the bass was more focused and controlled, with the most differences being in the mid bass. After the third or four day I was hooked and know this trial is going to be costly!

Incredible Audiolab 9000A amplifier

This single piece equipment, the Audiolab 9000A amplifier, massively improved the quality of the sound from my hifi. It was a day to night transformation, in a single box it offers a ground breaking DAC an amazing phono stage and an incredible blue tooth connection for streaming from my phone. Breath taking sound, thanks for this recommendation Richer sounds Cambridge team!

This integrated amp is neutral, musical and has enough oomph to drive my 4 ohm, 85 db efficient stand mount speaker without breaking a sweat!! The built in d/a converter is more than adequate as is the headphone section. My system is all digital so I cannot attest to the quality of the phono section. By personal preference because I love my Benchmark dac 3B I have connected it to the 9000A via the balanced input. The sound is flat out amazing. I purchased the 9000A 2 weeks before the $300.00 price reduction. Even at the original price this amp is a bargain. Dare I say , the 9000A could serve as the power plant for a wide range of systems as long as the buyer understands synergy, speaker placement and their listening rooms contribution to the final sound. Sounds beautiful

Recently purchased the 9000a. It replaces my 6000a which I’m still really happy with. I use the 9000a along side my denon 3600H AVR and use the power out to connect to the audiolab. It controls my front left and right speakers. When I want to listen to music I switch to integrated for the nicest sound. I’m running Dali opticon 2 mk2. I stream using a Cambridge audio CNXv2. Phono output seems to sound better as well. Overall I’m really pleased.

Subtle, Insightful and Powerful.

Bought this refurbished from RS via Amazon. It is a superb amp, understated power, superb resolution, great tonality top to bottom, wide and deep sound stage. Fantastic with analogue sources, detailed and insightful, it has an equally good DAC section which is highly resolving and musical. The display is genuinely useful, though I keep it off, so it only comes on when changing input or volume. The 9000A is particularly good with classical music, which is a good test of any amp, also jazz and ambient which I also listen to a lot. Probably not an amp for metal-heads, though; too subtle.
