Indicates temperature well, good for deep frying in a pot

Awesome price but think I need an laser

I bought this to use in making yoghurt and it works perfectly fine. However, it feels quite fragile (it is glass!) and I think a laser thermometer would be better for me.

Good value

Cheap little thermometer. I bought it for deep frying, to ensure the correct temperature, and have so far only used it once for frying chips. I found it hard to get it it to sit in the right place and not too close to the side or bottom of the pot. At $3.50, it doesn't need to be used very often to be worth the price!

Great - wish someone would make one with a protective cover

Great thermometer, I like the red ball on the clip. I have purchased other brands but they always end up getting shattered in my drawer - it would be great to buy one that has a cover to protect the glass tube. Maybe there is a solution that I don't know about?

Mastering hot sugar syrup

I finally have a candy thermometer. It's excellent. I have used it 3 times so far & am delighted I bought it. Cooking sugar to high temperatures has always made me a bit nervous. This solves that issue.

Use this at least twice a week in an industrial kitchen. Hand can get hot when resting the item in boiling hot sugar but now just submerge thermo in boiling sugar and manovoure with thongs. So cheap! Thermo with stand is $48 at other place i looked
