Aveda Botanical Repair Strengthening Leave-In Treatment 100 ml

I’m usually pretty theory about leaving product because my hair tend to get greasy.   as I’ve gotten older I’ve noticed my hair has gotten much dryer and it’s needed something extra. I saw an ad for this product and decided to pick one up because I usually love the smell of most Aveda products. This is exactly what my hair needs. It doesn’t leave it weighted down and it’s become regular in my routine.  I put it on freshly washed hair and then comb it out and then wrap it in a towel.  It just seems to be in so much better condition so much easier to come and I don’t get rats nest anymore.  I highly recommend if you’re in the need for a little extra moisture on your locks.  Also the scent as wonderful  Aveda botanical scent. The only thing I notice  That I would consider negative is that I do have to wash my hair more frequently when I use it. That could be just because I feel like I get oily a little faster when using more conditioning or hydration products.

After using the AVEDA Botanical Repair Strengthening shampoo and conditioner I towel dried my hair and I combed my hair to remove any knots or tangles and then I went to use the leave-in treatment. It is a thick pale milky/creamy yellow colour with a consistency of a sorbolene moisturiser and smells the same as the shampoo and conditioner (It kind of smells piney like pine cones. Really earthy and herby. The smell also kind of reminds me of a nappy rash cream that comes in a white tube that I used on my kids. Not pleasant). And it also makes my hair feel like it's gritty or has had hair spray in it then brushed out. Really dry. Also makes my pillow case smell like the product. As my hair started to dry naturally it became extremely frizzy and my hair didn't feel as soft as it does with my regular hair care products that I always use. It felt really dry, stripped and unmanageable. My hair literally feels like I've just been in the ocean. I'm not even sure what this product does. It has literally made my hair worse. I have since used this product more times with no improvements or changes. My hair feels the same each time I use it. I have even increased the amount of product I use to see if that makes a change but it doesn't. So far because of the smell of the product and the way it makes my hair feel I would not purchase this myself. I do have course, thick, wavy, frizzy hair and I do straighten it but it does say on the back of the bottle that it is suitable for all hair types and textures. There is limited information on the bottle. Most of it is in another language or it has a big list of ingredients. It does says it contains Aveda's own pure-fume (meaning their own perfume) which contains certified organic ylang-ylang, rose, marjoram and other pure flower and plant essences. I've also done separate reviews for the AVEDA Botanical Repair Strengthening shampoo and conditioner which are similar to this review. Same smell, feeling etc. No improvements to my hair. Makes my hair feel and smell awful. The tube itself is minimum 62% post-consumer HDPE and up to 38% bioplastic (which is 98% plant derived and 4% petrochemical). Recycling is limited so contact your local recycling program. Leave-in treatment has to be used within 24 months from opening. The leave-in treatment is made in the USA. I'm not sure who this would be ideal for as it says it's for all hair types and textures but it left my hair feeling damaged and really dry and crispy. I really don't understand how something at this price point could or would do this to my hair.

Fantastic product

I bought a travel size of this product mostly as a heat protectant but it has turned out to be so much more. I was on holiday over the summer so didnt have my usual products with me just a little bottle of this. So after washing my hair I applied it and blowdried. I noticed after a couple of days my hair looked healthier and after a couple of weeks it had grown more than usual - I also got a few compliments. I now understand that I had been applying too much product before I found this. Using just a little bit of this is all I need for the week and because I no longer have product build up I don't have to shampoo as often. I bought the 25ml bottle in May and I am still using it. Game Changer for my fine ends

I once had a hair stylist say not only was my hair fine, and thinning, but she said ‘your ends are ‘hollow’… like see through. That was years ago and I’ve continued to look for ways to beef up my limp, fragile hair… this is fantastic as is the entire line… from shampoo to conditioner. then I spray in Bumble and Bumble ‘go big’ all over (go back to it every time I go away from it) and let my hair air dry about half way, then smooth a bit of this into the mid lengths and ends, do a low heat blow dry and for the first time in years, my hair has some ‘heft’. My current stylist, who knows my hair pain, has pointed me to some top salon products that failed to achieve what the Aveda Bontanical Repair line has. Horribly limp frizzy hair

I had high hopes for this product, and thankfully got the sample pack of products first. I have beautiful, thick, wavy hair that got extremely damaged after several illnesses and shingles on the right side of my head and face in March. I had a lot of hair loss and damage. I researched a lot of products and this line only made it worse, with the exception of the fabulous leave in overnight serum. That product is outstanding! This product made my hair limp, frizzy and gave me more dry scalp and hair loss than with my previous products, Will continue to use the overnight serum - it works extremely well. As for the rest of this line, I won't continue. I went back to my previous products and they work better with no dry scalp, dandruff or hair loss. Love it

Great product, works really well on my hair. I have curly/wavy hair that's fine and fairly thin, and has been chemically treated. It often gets very dry and frizzy at the ends. This product helps prevent that, and helps smooth it out if it has already happened. Does not make my hair static or greasy. It's a bit on the heavier side, but my hair needs all the moisture it can get, so for me it works. I alter between this and the Nutriplenish leave-in conditioner, another favourite of mine. As with all Aveda products, the scent is all about personal preference, and I love the scent. I find it classy and relaxing, not overpowering, and does not linger for too long. Nice product

I have very long and fragile hair, that tends to have split and dry ends. I have tried lots of product, with no results. This product came in a nice package, smelled great, can't pinpoint the scent but seems very familiar. On applying it didn't have a sticky texture, I needed small amount of product to cover my hair. I did leave it more than stated, I left it in for approx 15 minutes and generously rinsed out. Hair felt really nice, it was detangling brilliantly and felt smooth. After drying my hair, my dry ends look more healthy, the hair is shiny and doesn't feel heavy. I tend to have oily hair after using some conditioners but this one didn't leave my hair oily. I have been highlighting own hair and leaving the formula on longer than instructed which has inevitably left my hair feeling, and looking strawlike. Botanical repair strenghtening leave-in treatment is my thatch's saviour. Like Rumplestiltskin, this treatment Aveda has produced, turns straw into gold. My golden locks are transformed into silken strands of molten beauty. On top of this, it has an addictive fragrance which cannot be found in more affordable brands. You don't have to use much, or saturate your hair with it for it to have the desired effect. A penny-sized blob on the palm gently tweaked through the dry patches then brushed through with a 'Teezer' is enough to rescue parched strands. This product completely transformed my hair

My hair has been uncontrollably dry and frizzy since the start of the pandemic. So dry I could not get a comb or brush through my locks. I was so fed-up with my hair that I would just tie it up. A friend gave me a sample of Botanical Repair shampoo, conditioner and strengthening leave-in treatment. I cried after my first use - my hair was smooth, shiny and I could put a comb through it for the first time in years. I looked like a completely different person. My Husband immediately commented on how healthy my hair looks. I immediately ordered a full size shampoo, conditioner and strengthening treatment and I have been so satisfied with the status of my hair. I highly recommend it!
