This is hands down my favourite line Aveda has. I have tried almost every shampoo and conditioner Aveda has to offer and the Brilliant line is my absolute favourite. I love love love the scent. It’s beautiful, classic aveda and not too overwhelming at all. Even after rinsing the shampoo my hair already feels super silky like i’ve conditioned it already. My hair dries so shiny and healthy looking. I’m just obsessed with the Brilliant Aveda Products. I would recommend this to try for anyone who is interested in trying Aveda but doesn’t necessarily have any specific issues that need targeting. It’s great! Also it’s colour safe which is important to me!

This is a great clarifying shampoo to use once every couple of weeks, depending on how oily your scalp is and how much product you us, this may be more frequently. I think it would be pretty drying to use daily, especially if you tend to have dry hair like I do. It does, however, seem to deep cleanse the scalp and hair in order to remove build up of oils and product. For damaged or over processed hair I would consider something milder or a once a month use. It is effective for removing build up, but at tge same time, it's drying to my already dry hair. May not be what your looking for if you want an every day shampoo, but great for those moments when you've done a thick moisturizing treatment like a cholesterol treatment or just need to get a good clean.

I have been using the Brilliant line for years and there is a reason why. It is fabulous. I have straight, fine hair - lots of it and for me, it works great. It is nourishing in my hair, smells amazing and brings shine. It isn't cheap - but as I don't wash my hair everyday, I can justify the price. AVEDA is also cruelty free - but their parent company, Estee Lauder, is not as they sell in China and China mandates animal testing in all cosmetic products sold in the country by law. AVEDA is not therefore sold in China.

Have been using this shampoo for years and absolutely love it! I alternate it into my hair routine to free my hair of buildup without drying it out at all unlike other refresh shampoos. The formula IS brilliant! I have fine hair but a lot of it and this is the only shampoo in my 15 years of using it that allows my hair to detangle easily just after shampooing even before using conditioner. That is amazing given my hair type. LOVE LOVE LOVE this shampoo. Will buy forever!
I can't believe how many reviewers say they actually like the smell of this product. Maybe mine is a bad batch? But the smell is so bad it makes me so nauseous. It just smells like baby oil and herbs but sooo strong it's unbearable. I regret buying this and which I had a sample first. I used it only once and had to rewash my hair because the smell lingered. Just way too strong. The condition smells terrible too, but not AS strong as the shampoo, and the conditioner works okay, but I got the cherry almond instead. I hate strong smells I wish it had more of a subtle, more floral or feminine smell to it. It is just such a weird smelling shampoo. I can't even return in store because I used Afterpay, and I wish I had to known that before. Very disappointed.
This really is a 'Brilliant' shampoo. If you want squeaky clean, nicely scented hair, I have never come across anything better (& there's many years' experience of trying hundreds of others)! It works so well, seems to get rid of all the products I use for styling etc and the squeak, I am sure you could hear from the other side of the bathroom! I always return to this product even when I've tried some even more upmarket shampoo but my hair never feels really clean unless I've used Brilliant shampoo. Am not very keen on the Brilliant Conditioner, however, which just doesn't work for my fine hair. NB I have no connection with the makers of this product! Also, sorry about the nickname but it's late & it's what came to mind in a hurry!
I have been a loyal user of Aveda shampoos for years. I stopped using Shampure after they changed the product but still purchased Brilliant and Blue Malva. I am having the same issues with those two products that I had with Shampure. They no longer clean my hair as they once did, My hair is dull and always looks dirty. You have finally lost me as a client. Sometimes change is not good. I'm not sure if you changed the formula for them but it sure does feel like you did!
I've used Aveda products for 15+ years. I even found a salon to purchase Aveda products while living in Europe for 1.5 years. The new formulations are terrible. It makes my hair greasy and limp. After a few uses, my scalp was itchy and I developed acne on my shoulders and back. After my staunch loyalty, I'm switching brands.
Started using Brilliant when living in hot, humid Texas.. then moved to Florida. This is the only shampoo that lets my layers have movement but no frizz. Now that I'm seeing a few grays appear, they aren't dry & wire-ey and popping out of place in my hair style. The entire Brilliant line is the best of Aveda.
Have been using other shampoos from Aveda like Shampure, Rosemary Mint, Damage Repair etc...But it was the 1st time to try Brilliant Shampoo.Due to the higher cost than normal shampoo, expected the quality would be better than regular shampoo at least. But it was not.My scult was very itchy and losing a lot of hairs after using this shampoo.I have not experienced this kind of reaction by any shampoo. Also was very hard to make foams and the hair was very stiff after washing. So contacted Custmore Service if I could return it due to the quality issue, but they told that I can not return it to the Stores but only can return to their DC by pre-paid shipping charge. So I am just using this terrible shampoo hoping it runs out as soon as possible since can't throw ...
