Avene Cicalfate Repair Cream 40ml

I have used this cream for years and was delighted to obtain more via Lloyds Pharmacy. It is an amazing cream with wonderful healing properties, very useful on scabs that won't heal, or an irritation on the skins surface, especially very good for fragile and sensitive skin. I was recommended this product by a French Pharmacist to use on a wound on my shin, and this cream cleared the problem within 3 days.

I cannot stop raving about this product! Seriously saved me during the wintertimes in Korea - so moisturizing. It leaves your skin greasy but I really do not mind it as I apply it at night or under makeup. It does not pill, did not give me any skin concerns, and was overall wonderful. I used it for three months and still have over half of the container left! Highly recommend for dry, sensitive skin types. Does not leave a whitecast, similar texture to baby buttpaste so you know it really locks in moisture.

This is an amazing cream, especially if you have Perioral Dermatitis or sensitive skin, or are recovering from a cosmetic procedure. I had no issues with the package, but I did shake it prior to use after reading some reviews about the product separating. It’s thick without being sticky, and instantly soothes the skin. It has no noticeable fragrance, no strange cast once rubbed in, and is good for AM/PM use. You can also use it as a final layer over your normal serum/moisturizer as a final occlusive step to seal everything in at night. It’s such a household staple, great for the face, but also good on burns , scrapes, and minor rashes. Cicalfate healed a burn on my forehead from a curling iron in days with no noticeable scarring. It’s pretty much magic in a bottle.

Avene Eau Thermale Cicalfate cream is a must-have in any skincare routine. I was blown away by how well this cream worked to soothe and heal my skin. I especially loved using it after I've spent time in the sun or after a long day at work. Overall, I can't recommend Avene Eau Thermale Cicalfate cream enough. It's simply a must-have for anyone looking to soothe and nourish their skin.

Barrier Creams definitely tie with SPF in my book. Barrier creams lock in all the goodness of the actives in skincare products while locking in moisture. This one is definitely a winner!

NOT SUITABLE FOR MY CONDITION

This cream was sold to me by my dermatologist for a very extreme skin condition related to contact dermatitis. Due to my very advanced condition, all this cream did was to irritate the situation by burning. I've gone online and looked up the 10 things to avoid for people with skin disorders, and this product has at least two of those such as glycerin, and also cetyl alchohol which is very drying. I was not given this as a sample, as it's a 3.3 oz tube and was charged $30.00 by my skin clinic doctor, so I thought it was a wonder cream made just for my condition. Wrong! I ended up with such cracked skin that it turned crusty and allowed a Staph infection to enter my right hand. Perioral Dermatitis

About a year ago my skin randomly developed perioral dermatitis, which I thought was acne. I used a prescription acne face wash and topical cream from my doctor, along with a "natural" moisturizer since the face wash was drying. Unfortunately this only made the dermatitis (which was then misdiagnosed) so much worse and irritated. It came to a point that ANYTHING (moisturizer I had been using for years, makeup I'd been using for years (SLS free), sunscreen) I put on my skin besides water would burn and literally leave dark burn marks around my eyes, nose and mouth. I still had some dryness in my problem areas of dermatitis though and found this product helped someone on a random blog page somewhere...so, I bought it. I have now been using this ream around my eyes, nose, and mouth for 2 1/2 weeks and have not had a single sighting of dry scaly dermatitis skin. I only wish I found it sooner. I will probably buy this product forever and will continue using it twice daily as long as it keeps my dermatitis off my face. I've even been able to start wearing makeup over it without causing any dry looking scaly skin. Would 100% recommend to anyone struggling with this frustrating issue.

While I waited for it to ship, the sample ran out, so I decided to go back to an old moisturizer until it came in. Big mistake. The perioral dermatitis came back. So, I applied the cicalfate, and it worked like a charm again. I’ve been using the XeraCalm A.D. cleanser and cream ever since then. Once in a while, a little spot of red will appear on my nose. But the cicalfate takes care of that overnight. I can’t recommend Avène’s products enough. I can’t remember the last time my skin looked so healthy! Now, if only they started making a line of makeup (I haven’t been brave enough to add that back into my routine), I’d use them exclusively for all of my skincare needs!

Rosacea/Perioral Dermatitis

I never write reviews but must give credit where it’s due! Im 19 now and was diagnosed with rosacea about 3 years ago and was given antibiotic creams and gels that wouldn’t work! With some research I believed my symptoms were more like Perioral dermatitis as my nose, mouth, chin area was affected. This was persistent and never went away until now. I am so grateful avené for this miracle worker cream! I now look forward to looking in the mirror I feel unrecognisable. This cream restored moisture to my cracked and flaky red skin, my skin has never been so smooth! Results could be seen almost instantly and after 3 years I was quite shook. Definitely worth the purchase and will definitely be repurchasing! So thankful I came across this amazing product!

Short-term Perioral Dermatitis Relief

I bought this cream to help with my perioral dermatitis and have been using it for almost two months now. This cream is great for moisturizing PD patches and reducing inflammation. However, the only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because it is an extremely short-term fix. I used this cream on its own for the first month and saw slight improvements, especially when I woke up in the morning after using the cream the night before. But, by the evening my PD looked bad again. It wasn’t until the second month that I paired this cream with Osmia’s black clay facial cleanser that I saw drastic improvements.
