This Avène fluid mineral sunscreen is without chemicals filters, fragrance free. 100% mineral complex offers high tolerability and optimal protection against UVB and UVA. It says that is good from all skin types from acneic to sensitive skin. I really didn’t like the texture, it’s sticky on the skin and never gets absorbed. It makes your skin completely white so it leaves white cast.

10/10 when paired with the tinted version

I've tried very many mineral sunscreens. I found this one a few years ago and I'll never try another. I mix it about 50/50 with the tinted version to get it to my skin tone - it is good to know that if you used this one alone it'd give you a white cast. It doesn't make your face feel dry, it doesn't make you look greasy, it just looks and feels beautiful. I haven't used anything else new since starting to use this, and I notice my skin has gotten softer with time. It works great underneath my Lancome teint idole concealer as well. Couldn't recommend strongly enough.

Awful

I really wish I had read the reviews before buying this (it’s not like me not to, not sure what I was doing). As everyone else has said, it leaves a white cast over your face which doesn’t sink in and can’t be rubbed in no matter what you do. I put foundation over the top and it still looked completely ridiculous. It’s such a shame as I’ve been looking for a mineral face sunscreen since becoming pregnant, but this is going in the bin :-( If you’re looking for high factor sunscreen and aren’t specifically looking for a mineral one, La Roche Posay’s Anthelios range is 1000 times better.

Awful texture, smell, and white cast

I was looking for a new non-tinted mineral sunscreen and purchased this one. I ended up throwing it out after a dozen uses. It has a thick, sticky texture that takes forever to blend, and leaves a terrible white cast. I tried using bronzing drops to offset the white cast but it didn't work. I find the smell unpleasant and overwhelming. After using this a few days in a row I noticed significant skin irritation, and my skin isn't usually overly sensitive. There are so many better options out there, don't waste your money.

Best mineral sunscreen

This is by far the best mineral sunscreen I have used and I will definitely be purchasing more! I agree with the other reviewer who said the formula is perfect from a sun protection standpoint. Unlike others I've tried (tinted mineral ones from Vichy, La Roche Posay) this one has only the mildest scent that completely goes away within 15 min of application. With the others I could smell them all day on my skin and they looked like an oil slick. What I love most is the formula dries down to an incredibly soft, non-shiny satin finish that makes my skin feel like velvet! Efficient and practical to take with you

Highly recommended for protection.

I bought this produce after trying some off a friend who is very sensitive to the sun. I have precancerous cells under my eyes and other sun creams wash off easily in the sea. I have now been using this product for 10month and I can highly recommend. I don’t have any problems with white casting…. If anything it makes me look tanned with an even cover. I don’t need a foundation with it. I will be buying more even though it’s a small bottle you don’t need to use lots. I have even managed to only top up twice a day while at the beach.

The tint was significantly too dark for me (I have fair skin) and this made me resemble and Oompa-loompa but that was a minor issue. Unfortunately, this product was a DISASTER for me in terms of how my skin responded. Unfortunately, this product was a DISASTER for me in terms of how my skin responded. I had a SEVERE reaction to this product and all over my face, neck, and décolleté that had to be treated with a prescription barrier repair cream and a prescription steroid cream. My doctor also told me to take 50 mg of Benadryl daily for a week. My face was so red and inflamed and itchy and it looked TERRIBLE.I have ordered from Avene many times, but I always order the Tolerance Extreme Cream and Tolerance Extreme Cleansing Cream because they are nice and simple and easy to use with a multi-step routine. I thought I'd branch out this time, but will never again try other products from Avene as the other products I tried caused irritation (though only this particular product to the point where I wound up using prescription steroid cream and a prescription barrier repair cream to treat the reaction). I do not have extremely sensitive skin--I use several strong actives such as Vitamin C and Retinol with no problems and am very confused about my reaction to the Avene products. I am actually wondering if they are having quality control issues.Additionally, I am very frustrated by Avene's TERRIBLE return policy compared to other retailers whose products I use and love such as La Roche Posay, Paula's Choice, Diecem, Sephora, Ulta, Dermstore, LovelySkin, Nordstrom, etc. I expect that if I am paying premium price for a product that the company should also stand behind their product. I would seriously recommend purchasing Avene products from these other retailers rather than from Avene itself, going with La Roche Posay whose products are very similar, or going with basic drugstore products such as Eucerin or CeraVe. I have yet to open one of the products I ordered as I like to try products one at a time to see their effect. I am now afraid to open it and try it because of the reaction I had to this product, but it will also arrive too late once shipped back from me to receive a refund as it took over a week for me to receive my products and Avene begins counting the 30 days for their return policy from the date PURCHASED--not the date shipped or the date received. Needless to say I will not be ordering from Avene again though I will continue to use their Tolerance Extreme Cream/Cleansing Cream. I will simply purchase it through an indirect supplier.

Terrible

The worst sunscreen I’ve ever tried! Terrible terrible. The worst white cast I’ve ever had? Almost blue 😂😂😂 and no matter how I applied- build up gradually and start with a little etc- I just couldn’t rub it in? Terrible. Threw it in the bin! And it’s expensive enough! Don’t buy. I’d give zero stars if I could. Gave me a great laugh sending pics to my family and friends! Great for Halloween or for the giggles! But nothing else

Overall this is a good product in that it really protects the skin and it doesn’t irritate sensitive skin, but as a face SPF, it leaves too much of a white cast. My husband used it to try and avoid his white shirts from getting yellow (unfortunately, chemical sunscreens leave stains on white clothes), but this mineral SPF made his face look like a ghost. He now only uses it for the back of his neck. You also don’t get a lot of product for your money. The bottle is tiny!
