Avene XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cleansing Oil

This replacement for regular soap on my baby's skin has drastically reduced his dermatitis. This was recommended by his dermatologist and we have found an allie for his skin. This a little coconut-y smell to it, bit after you have washed it off it doesn't smell at all.You should use very little product since its very oily (ahm it's an oil lol) and spreads easily in his wet body. Avene cleanser

I love this cleanser perfect for red sensitive skin, removals oil without being oily and leaves skin soft and fresh. With regular use helps with blemishes and breakouts and leaves skin much more comfortable. Took me a long time to stumble across this product but is my absolute go to for facial cleansing

I have only bought this couple of weeks ago and have used it 3 times. So far it is not a very noticeable difference from my previous shower oil brand. The body does feel well moistured after the shower and does not irritate. So far, it's been good.

Brilliant before, not so much now

I bought this for such a long time to cleanse my face but then the formula changed. I bought it anyway willing to give the new formula a chance, because I thought surely it couldn’t be too different, however over time it has given me such red cheeks, almost like rosacea. I tried swapping other things out in my skincare routine thinking it must be other things and I really didn’t think it could be this cleanser. However, once I swapped the new formula avene cleanser out, my redness has started to disappear. (Thank goodness!) As I said, this was after prolonged use of using this cleanser on my face just once a day every evening, so just be aware. For a one off, it takes make up off brilliantly.Also I thought it might just be my skin this didn’t work for. However my house mate has just tried using what I had left in the bottle - she has less sensitive skin than me - but after just a week she says she has developed eczema around her eyes.Sure this would be no problem as a body cleanser, just be aware when using it for your face. Previous formula was amazing and fantastic to cleanse my face. This new formula not so much. For body use instead. (and to be fair to the packaging, this has also changed to have a picture of a shower on there too which may indicate more suitable for the body (even if it does say for face too)).Thankfully I’ve managed to find a different Korean cleanser that suits me and my facial needs. Thanks avene for the previous formula though!

Dry, Eczema prone skin

I am an adult with very dry skin and eczema, I was having a particularly bad flare up where nothing was keeping moisture in my skin. I thought i'd give this a go as I use most Avene face creams, cleansers etc and I'm glad I did! it helps keeps some moisture in whilst showering and makes my skin feel much calmer. Will definitely be buying again.

Extremely sad they changed this product.

Extremely sad they changed this product. It was my absolute favourite before and I used nothing else.Now it’s less velvety, leaves my face dryer, and for some reason it now doesn’t seem advertised as a face product but a shower product. Very odd and disappointing.

Good with the odd reservation

I've been using this in combination with the Xeracalm balm and between the two of them they do a great job keeping my dry skin hydrated. The oil is a good cleansing product and makes my skin feel good and flexible even before any balm has been applied. The one area where this falls behind the balm is fragrance: rather than being fragrance free this has a slight chemical aroma to it. The manufacturer has focused on it being made without fragrance so presumably this is the natural aroma of the cleansing ingredients, so if you don't mind that, this does just the job.One thing I can't comment on is how well it copes with eczema. As a member of the review panel I use the products when I get them, and I haven't had any flare-ups during this time. Lovely body wash for sensitive skin.

It foams well and has minimal ingredients to combat any allergies. It's a bit expensive, but works if you are suffering with skin redness. I wouldn't buy it all of the time. I couldn't afford to, but it is nice to have a bit of luxury every now and then.

Lovely shower oil but no scent or foam

Lovely for dry skin, skin probe to rashes and eczema. My skin didn't used to be sensitive or have dermatitis problems, but it does now. This feels high-end luxurious, applies as a lovely shower oil leaves skin soft. Just a shame it doesn't foam or have any scent at all, so I struggle to feel like I've washed and am fresh. It removes makeup very well in the shower and leaves skin soft all over, safe to use all over including face.

Shockingly amazing

The reason why I bought this product is because a dermatologist online recommended it. At first, I used it as a makeup remover and chose this because it was a lot cheaper compared to other oil based makeup removers. The first time I used this product I absolutely hated it. I did not enjoy the smell or the thick consistency of the product. However, the reason why this product shocked me so much was because I began using it when shaving. The product begins as an oil which allowed the razor to glide easily, then when water is added a lather is formed which insures that there is no residue left on the skin. I now use this product as a makeup remover AND a body wash as it is so versatile.
