What I notice about the reviews on Aventus is a lot of people smell different things and perceive it in different ways. This could be because Aventus is hand made in batches. Some batch numbers are even more sought after than others. Due to its cost, I order it in small amounts from people that have large decanters of the stuff. It's not my daily go-to, so I can make a little bit last a good while. With that said, Aventus smells to me like a man's man cologne. It doesn't pair well with a chai latte and a man bun. The original formulation was ground breaking absolutely and the scent is very likable considering how copied fragrance is. The magic is the birch, the darker and the darker smokier notes to this and of course the sweetness comes from pineapple, there is this fullness to it as well where it's just perfectly blended. If you're into fragrances like Drakkar Noir, Black XS and Armani Code this will most likely be your next favorite fragrance as they are all a similar style. However none smell exactly the same. Sure Polo Green (Ralph Lauren) among others have been reformulated significantly but for the price Creed goes for you'd think that they would be the source for the pineapples, the birch trees and all but no! Really what are we paying for if they can't produce a consistent product the history, the hype? I'd say go with one of the many, many copies instead because this isn't the longest lasting fragrance. Al Haramain L'Adventure, Club De Nuit Intense by Armaf and all the others are my pick. If you've got the money though go with Creed, it's a great fragrance so I'm not talking bad about it but I can't stomach 400$ for something that doesn't last 12+ hours and project like a beast.

Dupes get close, but they're never truly identical. When buying this fragrance, it is important to not judge on first sniff as the top notes on my 20a01n have gotten significantly better. And starting our journey back up at 6 am that Saturday morning. Sometime around 3pm or so. We stopped in Kansas or Missouri for some coffee at this convenience store. And the guy working the cash register asked me: Are you wearing cologne? I replied yes, and he asked what I was wearing, cause I smelled so good. I gladly told him and showed him the bottle. Have to say. This wasn't the first compliment on this trip. That Creed Aventus turned some heads and people had to approach and tell me how good I smelled. Don't miss this! I'm a kind of a newbie to the niche/designer fragrances as I have used some natural perfumes previously. The first thing I look for in a fragrance is whether it brings discomfort to me. Some scents might give headaches even if it's a highly rated or top brand, so it's subjective. Creed Aventus is recommended by one of my friends, and I bought some decants to try it first. This smells pretty awesome, very unique, and pleasant, light on my nose. I bought a decant initially and then a bottle. You never get disappointed. Can blind buy. Again, this brand doesn't cause any discomfort and suits me. Lastly, I hear more discussion about different batches of Aventus, don't worry about it. Just try anything you get! Very classy scent!

The packaging is what you come to expect from the house of creed and consists of a ribbed cardboard box which has in fact moved away from the general white packaging Creed uses. The bottle is essentially identical to Aventus besides the colour being grey as opposed to black. I believe they altered the top to be more mass appeal as a large majority of people disliked the top that Aventus delivers. The initial top fades within 20 minutes and you start getting the birch and vetiver popping their heads through. The birch is not overly strong but it is definitely there. It would be in the order of 10-20% of the birch strength that Aventus delivers. The heart of the fragrance lasts for around 1-2 hours and slowly moves to a smooth base of non-offensive musk. The dry down is incredibly pleasant and still from time to time get hints of fruits. Overall, I would say that I get similar longevity out of my current formulation of Aventus and it is definitely not a performance monster. However, this has come to be known with most of the Creed fragrances. I feel you are paying for a quality fragrance that would be perfect as an all-rounder!

It took a week for it to get to me but on Wal Mart they say it can come in 2 days so don't believe that part but they the real deal and I think I will ever order anything outside of this again for awhile until I find something that's on the level the Creed Aventus is on. And i'm telling you man their smell is no where near the level of Creed Aventus. I sprayed only a little bit of it on my wrist and in the midst of 6 hours I washed my hands twice and even put lotion on and that good smell of it was still there.
