In conclusion, this is a highly recommended grinder. I purchased this and have taken apart and cleaned the grinder more often than I used to. You may know this sounds odd, but it's an undeniable fact. Not because this is wrong, it is because the burr can be removed from the body very easily!! A grinder designed to grind coffee beans vertically works very well. It's arguably the most intuitively structured grinder I've ever used. There are just a few downsides: The grinders are noisy, but this is as expected. Also I'm on the tall side, so I can't see the numbers on the screen unless I'm leaning over. To be honest, these drawbacks don't bother me too much and it serves its primary purpose of grinding coffee beans for espresso very nicely.

It is easy to take apart and put back together.I highly recommend this product, except for the small complaints I have.

Yes it is louder than expected, but fits easily on a counter underneath a cabinet.I weigh the coffee, and have found occasional 10% over fill, but never under fill, majority of the time it is 40-41grams, this is a 40g grind for French press.Very little fines in the cup, with a consistent grind from when inspecting the coffee. You can see some finer grounds, but majority the same size.I do like the flow through the machine, I’m lazy and don’t plan breaking down the machine every week to remove stale coffee from the grinder, so the noise is fine.I am using the S2 Burr assembly.I’m very happy with the product, exceptionally happy with the company I bought it from, and look forward to buying an Expresso machine from them in the future.

However, the grind adjustment lever had broken, and it was really difficult to reset the grind. Plus, it only had stepped adjustment.I looked at several grinders and originally wanted the Sette 270w as I ALWAYS weigh my coffee. However, I always weigh per each shot and the beans are stored in a Friis Coffee Vault. The idea of "storing" beans in a hopper just seemed wrong to me.Therefore, I opted to save $200 by going for the non-weigh Sette 270. The beans are stored in Friis Coffee Vaults (3 different ones) and are weighed on a separate Acaia scale.I read about the noise of the Baratza grinder but find it no louder than the Cimbali. ... While the adjustments are plenty precise, I find the relationship between the coarse and fine adjustments to be cumbersome at times. Everything works great as long as your fine adjustment is somewhere in the middle of its range, but over time as the grinder breaks in (and also due to variations in coffee beans) you need to adjust the grind. At some point you run out of room in the fine adjustment and you need to tick over to the next coarse adjustment setting. The problem is, now you need to reset the fine adjustment somewhere in the middle, and inevitably have to brew several tests to get things dialed back in. There's no good way to go from maxing out the fine adjustment (either on the coarser or finer side), to going "slightly coarser" or "slightly finer" when you make a coarse adjustment. This is an infrequent problem, but still one that I think more expensive grinders do a better job of addressing.* Build quality - I have not had any issues with the grinder in terms of reliability, however I would note that it has many plastic parts

After running out of pre-ground coffee for my wife I turned my dial all the way course to grind some directly into the filter of our Bunn drip machine. This is where my only compliant comes in. It generated so much static and threw grounds everywhere. The Virtuoso generates static as well, but the grounds bin inserts into the machine to prevent scattering. So, I've decided to only use this machine for espresso.I keep timer one at 6 seconds, and timer two at .1 second to top off if I get just under 14 grams. And I also think that at the courser settings the Virtuoso produces fewer fines (although I don't have a sieve testing set-up) with the new Preciso burrs I just installed.All in all, a great espresso grinding machine, but if you're looking for a machine that can do just as well up to drip, maybe look elsewhere, like the Vario.
I gave it a 4 star I’m happy with the grinder for what it does and the grind it produces. Biggest take aways are the constant having to destatic your beans so they don’t make a complete mess. Also the need for a portafilter funnel to further decrease mess. Without these your coffee area will have grinds everywhere. While the 270wi constantly weighs doses. I’ve tested timing to get the 18g weights. It does seem to walk on weights over time and have been needing to increase dosing time. This may resolve over a longer period but for the first 3 weeks of use it has not stayed consistent. Overall for the price point it produces a quality grind, just takes more on your end to produce consistent in weights. Overall happy with the machine.
