Barilla Pesto Genovese Pasta Sauce 190g

I usually make my own fresh pesto, so this pesto honestly pales in comparison. It's like Olive Garden vs Real Italian Food, it just doesn't really compare. But if you just want fast pesto and don't care if the taste is a lil sub par, this sauce is fairly decent. You can add a little olive oil to make it less like paste and more like acutal pesto. I do like how creamy this sauce is! That's it's one saving grace. Thank you to Sampler for sending me a free sample so I can give an honest review!

I received this product for free from Barilla and PinchMe in exchange for my honest review. Barilla’s Creamy Genovese Pesto Sauce had even the picky eater in my family asking for seconds. The ingredients include Italian basil and grated Italian cheese. It had a creamy texture that allows to spread on bread as well as mix it in with the pasta. It was delicious and just the right flavoring of each ingredient. Not to mention it is ready to serve so made for any easy but tasty dinner. I will definitely be buying more. Next time I will be adding shrimp and maybe some peas for the kids.

I received a sample of Barilla's Genovese Pesto through the Sampler program recently. I ended up making a pasta casserole with some pesto I already had on hand and used this for garlic bread. I halved a loaf of French bread, coated it in garlic butter, spread this creamy pesto by Barilla on, then toped it with mozzarella and parmesan flakes and toasted it all in the oven. It was phenomenal! The flavor of this is perfect, and I can't wait to use a full bottle the next time I do pasta. Definitely recommend giving it a shot. It's not as oily but with the same intense flavors of classic pesto! Enjoy!

I received a sample size of this pesto from Sampler. I used this over black soybean pasta. I found that the pesto lacked flavor and I needed to doctor it up quite a bit. I added salt, pepper, and lots of parmesan cheese. It made it more palatable. I probably would not purchase this

Comparing this to homemade pesto, it reminded me a lot of the the comparison between the cheap supermarket shredded "Parmesan" and actual Parmigiano Reggiano cheese from Italy. This is cheaper and a lot more convenient than the real stuff, but it tastes very artificial and cloying compared to actual homemade pesto sauce. There's a ton of oil and cheese in it, which makes it tastes good for about a bite or two until I get overwhelmed. Still, the convenience is high enough that it gets three starts in spite of my hesitancy about the taste.

This pesto is delicious! I had received a small sample jar of it and fell in love instantly. The flavor is amazing for a store bought pesto. I put it on a Turkey, sundried tomato and provolone sandwich and yumm! Addicted. You have to try it for yourself. Definately recommend.

Barilla Creamy Genovese Pesto has a creamy texture and is a great accompaniment to pasta. Its texture is creamy and smooth and contains quality ingredients. I used to use other typical sauces for pasta, but when I came across this sauce, I fell in love with its deliciousness. It's not creamy like Alfredo sauce, but it's a little creamier than other pesto sauces on the market.

Received this pesto complimentary in exchange for honest opinion and review. This new Genovese Pesto sauce is so fragrant, just smells amazingly wonderful. It is very versatile as well. I used it here in a ravioli dish, however it can be used in sandwiches as a paste/sauce, on eggs, to dip bread in, many different pastas, and I’m sure some other creative dishes. This pesto is very creamy, flavorful, and my family really enjoyed it. Comes typically in a glass jar that should be refrigerated after opening. Would recommend for those of you out there that are similar to me and like a fuss free, tasty sauce that is versatile. This one is definitely one of those that I like to keep on hand!

Horrifying

This might be the worst pesto known to the human race! I quite like Barilla sauces so decided to try the pesto. First you open the jar and it looks like mushy peasnot like pesto. Second it tastes like super concentrated pesto boiled for a few hundred years mixed with cheese powder, absolutely terrible!Avoid unless you like to eat snot looking jars of food!Nothing quite compares to the Waitrose pesto Ocado used to sell sadly, especially for those with a cows milk allergy.

The best creamy pesto

This pesto is our go to pesto, kids won?t eat any other pesto. This is creamy and indulgent and you don?t need to use too much to get that indulgent taste. We mostly use this with pasta dishes however it work well with chicken and halloumi. This pesto isn?t oily like others can be! Deffo give it a try!
