Full disclosure: I was sent this product to review. This is a great cable. The lightning cables have been around for years now so there isn't really anything new or innovative that makes this product stand out. But it is well made and feels durable. It's a great length and it works as you would expect it to. One thing that does impress me is that the plastic end with the lightning adapter is identical to the end of an official Apple cable. I've had a few third party lightning cables over the years and every one of them had a longer and usually fatter lightning adapter end. Sometimes an Apple cable would fit through the hole in a case to charge my phone but a third party cable wouldn't. In this case, Belkin's cable is just as capable as an original lightning cable. ... MoreFull disclosure: I was sent this product to review. This is a great cable. This appears to be a well-made cable, and I appreciate the 9-foot length. However, Belkin did a very stupid thing when they packaged it: they folded it tightly, which put permanent bends in the cable. That puts unnecessary strain on the wires inside the cable. You can try to unbend it, but that just imposes more metal fatigue on the wires. Cables should be coiled into a smooth circle, not bent and folded. I've learned that from several decades of work in professional audio. Bending or folding cables is a good way to shorten their useful life. It doesn't make any sense that Belkin should go to the trouble of making a decent cable and then immediately ruin it by treating as though it were some kind of rope. I'm gradually working on the cable to gently unbend it, but it will never be right again. I prefer cables that have some spring in them, like the USB to Lightning cables that Apple makes. Sure, they're thinner than this one, but they're still well-made, and Apple ships them coiled, not folded. What's more they're easy to coil when not in use. Good luck coiling this Belkin cable. It has almost no springiness, and then it has the permanent kinks from Belkin's stupid packaging into the bargain. If Belkin had packaged the cable coiled rather then folding and bending it into a permanently kinked mutant, I'd give it five stars. But the abusive packaging knocks a full two stars off my rating, and I can't really recommend a product that's automatically in not-new condition when you open the package.

This is an update to an earlier review (B&H won't let me update/edit the original review.)I have owned this cable for almost three years (since June 2017). Myimmediate concern after I received it was due to the fact that the cable was folded and crammed into the factory packaging, rather than neatly coiled. Folding permanently deforms the cable. I have gradually gotten the kinks out of it (...well, mostly), so I would have bumped my original three-star review up to four stars......but there's a worse problem There's no strain relief on the connectors. I have gradually gotten the kinks out of it (...well, mostly), so I would have bumped my original three-star review up to four stars......but there's a worse problem There's no strain relief on the connectors. After three years of daily use, the cable jacket has pulled out of the Lightning connector, exposing the wires inside. That's just bad design. A properly designed cable anchors the cable jacket firmly to the connector, so the jacket can never separate from the connector.I've extended the life of the cable by carefully wrapping the section of exposed wires with electrical tape, overlapping it onto the Lightning connector, and then covering it all with 4 layers of heat shrink tubing. (see photo) That should keep the jacket from separating further from the connector, and hopefully prevent the wires inside the cable from eventually breaking. But it's still an inferior design. The cable has worked well for three years, so that's a plus. But I wouldn't buy another one, and I can't recommend it. Belkin needs to change their packaging; coil the cable, don't fold it. And install strain relief at the connectors.
I’ve been using this lightning cable on my main phone since I got it, and I am always impressed by the performance of Belkin cables! It’s bend capacity is huge, it’s been quite resilient since using it, workmanship is easily top of the line, and, of course, is still working since I open the box which is really nice considering a lot of the offbrand cables don’t work after about a week. It’s been a while now and the fact that this one still working is pretty impressive. I think it’s been a little over a month maybe two? That’s worth it to me.
I like this charging cord because it fits well even though my case has a small cut out for my charging cord.I think this would be best used in car chargers or situations where you need to quickly plug in your phone without much hassle making the plug fit. It definitely has a smaller input to the phone compared to other charging wires I use. This cord comes in other colors too which is nice to match up with where you are placing it. The black cord works well with my black car charger.A few people have commented so far about it fraying at the cord input. I can see that happening over time but I’ve had that happen with every charging cord I have used because as you plug in and pull out the plug if you pull at the head of the plug it’ll fray overtime. One thing ... MoreI like this charging cord because it fits well even though my case has a small cut out for my charging cord.I think this would be best used in car chargers or situations where you need to quickly plug in your phone without much hassle making the plug fit. They spiral onto the charging cord and strengthen the input point so that the fraying is less likely to happen over time. They are a pain to put on but once they are on you have a cord that’ll last a lot longer.
This Belkin Boost Charge Lighting to USB-A Cable is just what I needed. I charge my phone every day and the old cord was getting worn out near the plug. This new cable is very similar to my original cable, but has some improvements. The plugs are easier to hold and grasp, making it easier to plug in and out. The material also feels sturdier. It’s flexible, but not as thin. It is 3.3 feet long, which seems to be the standard length. Sometimes, too long of a cable can be hard to store or keep my charging area organized. The box also says it has been durability tested to over 8,000 bends. Knowing this and also it being from Belkin makes it a great choice for a charging cable for me. The box also mentions it’s made for and certified for my phone. This is important ... MoreThis Belkin Boost Charge Lighting to USB-A Cable is just what I needed. It says it supports standard charging up to 12W. It’s not the fastest rate, but it is faster than the lowest rate, and I like that it states this specification. Another thing I like is that the box and packaging is mostly recyclable paper-based materials. It does not have a lot of excess plastic packaging that some other cables come in. It even has a 2 year warranty, which I’m surprised a cable would have. I think this cable from Belkin is good quality and I’m glad to have it to charge my phone.
I purchased the 10 ft charge-USB cable about 4 months ago from an Apple store. I absolutely love how fast my device charges and the fact that the cable is so long that I don't have to sit on top of an electrical outlet when I need to use my device while it's charging. I never read any reviews before purchasing this product so I had no clue how many other customers had the same problem with the wiring pulling out from the end that plugs into the device. I couldn't figure out why it happened in such a short length of time because I never unplug my device by pulling on the cable. I recently contacted Belkin to inform them of my problem and to my surprise, I was informed that Belkin products were warrantied. I had no clue! I recently contacted Belkin to inform them of my problem and to my surprise, I was informed that Belkin products were warrantied. I had no clue! I was informed that someone would be in touch with me regarding my cable. I was even more surprised when less than a week later (before even hearing back from Belkin), I received a package via UPS from Belkin with a BRAND NEW cable just like my damaged cable! No questions asked, Belkin sent me a replacement cable and didn't even require me to go through the aggravation of mailing my damaged cable back to them. My product may not have lasted long but the fact that Belkin replaced it, no questions asked, makes me 100% satisfied with my decision to purchase one of their products. I'm now a forever Belkin customer!
I'm pretty agnostic when it comes to charging cables. Some lose their ability to connect over time. So far so good with this one. With a name like BOOST CHARGE, I thought it would charge my phone way faster than other cables, but I haven't noticed a big difference. (Granted, I haven't sat there and timed the thing.) The cable is pretty darn substantial though, bordering on too stiff. It seems like it'll last a long time.
I can’t begin to explain how many apple cables my household has gone through. Most of them just don’t hold up. I really like this cable and it’s definitely built to last. I also find that it charges our devices quicker than the standard cables you get with the devices. It’s pretty thick but has enough flex too. I also chose the longer one and find I like it much better than the standard length. Now if I could just get my teenage daughter to stop taking it, all would be well. I highly recommend investing in a cable like this, will definitely save you more in the long run.
