Berkley Vanish Florocarbon line is the best on the markey

If you dont know how to spool correctly or even know what florocarbon is then yes your stren mono that is the same price for 300 yards will seem to work better. Before you write bad reviews about a something you have no idea about at least do some research so you dont sound silly to those of us who do know how to use this excellent product. I have also used berkley big game mono for over 20 years and vanish flourocarbon for 13 years and there is nothing better out there.. CHECK THE PHOTOS BELOW ALL VANISH BASS !! TONS MORE TOO.

I use vanish for leader between #1 dipsey diver and spoon or harness. Vanish is tough and the 8 foot length is the shock absorber as i use 80 pound synthetic to trip and not lose expensive tackle. The 20 pound Vanish may seem like over kill until you hook up a Fish Ohio walleye . Just remember. Lucky fishermen check and change their leaders often. Try it. It works. Title: Big one got away? To cut to the chase, I hooked and landed a 40-45 lb (easy) Striper after a battle that went on for maybe 12 - 15 minutes. Great value as real Fluorocarbon mainline.
6 May 2021

Have now bought this line in 20, 30 , and 40 pound test filler spools (350 yards) a number of times. Not only does it provide great abrasion resistance, it's knot friendly, and very sensitive to fish activity around the hook. It also doesn't seem to get nick or get frayed anywhere as often as mono therefore lasting on my reels. I use the line on both spinningand conventional reels with great success.

It broke way too much
13 March 2021

New to Fluor but started to give it a go, and bought this line cause it was a little cheaper. But, every time I turn around it breaks, worm hook set, casting, etc. Lost enough baits to have paid for a higher quality line. Now I’m just plan scared to even try it again, been catching some nice bass and would hate to finally have my PB break off when I could have used another line. Not sure if I had a bad batch, old batch or what, and at the price of line now, it hurts to have to remove basically new line and refill. Sure did not help my confidence in using Fluor in the future, that’s for sure. Trying strike king tour now and it’s sure not cheap, but still not sure if this line is going on many of my reels, just like braid too much, and can use a good mono for leader.

The Flourcarbon line is likened to sliced bread in the fishing industry . Its invisibility and low stretch properties make it an ideal line for multiple fishing techniques from main line to leader for a subtle finess that advantages the angler in any pound class. The line sinks, so it is not recommended for top water presentations. Good strength and abrasion resistance allows for fishing those rocky and timber congested bottoms with assured solid hook sets at long distances. My favorites are the color transition lines, but one can do no wrong using pure 100%.

Used as leader line.

This line has a lot of memory. That is why I use it as leader line only. As leader line it is fantastic. It disappears in water and is very abrasion resistant. I use it with lures and spawn for steelhead. The spawn gets swallowed and the line rubs against their teeth the whole fight with little to no negative affects. Highly recommend this line for this type of use.

Worst line I have ever purchased!
29 March 2020

I have been fishing for over 50 years. I purchased this line after my great experience through the years with Trilene. That being said, I spooled some 17 lb. Vanish on 2 of my baitcasters. What a terrible mistake! I went to the lake 2 days afterwards. 1st cast, backlash. lost about 1/3 of the line. Cranked down on the brake, OK for now. Pulled in what I had cut off and it was coiled like a snake. Remember, this was on the reel 2 DAYS! It was correctly spooled as I have learned something in my 50+ years of fishing. I never had any problems with any Trilene in any LB. test I ever purchased. The line was not marked as "Leader" as some spools were. The other reel, got a couple of casts before the inevitable happened. It was a shame that I didn't lose more line, meaning ... MoreI have been fishing for over 50 years. It was a shame that I didn't lose more line, meaning I would have had less to pull off the reel for the trash can. I would have posted pictures, but I'm sure everyone knows what a trashcan looks like and all experienced anglers know what to put in it. Vanish is absolutely the worst "fishing line" I have ever used. Want to guess what line is on my reels now? Trilene! Please take this garbage product off the market Berkely. Fishermen everywhere will thank you!

Wrong line on spool
31 July 2021

I bought a packet of Berkley Vanish Fluorocarbon 12LB line from a local dealer in South Africa a while ago.It is currently winter here and was respooling my reels when I started using the spool of line that I've placed in my fisking tackle line box. I noticed something was off but wrote it off to the Double-X Hi-Abrasion 14LB line I was taking off my reel. But when I spooled my reel, it didn't even fill half of it(Shimano Slade 4000FB). Now I knew something was seriously wrong. The line measure about 0.008" instead of 0.012"Now I don't just want to diss the product as I have moved over completely from Double-X and have had only good experiences up till now.Have you maybe had any other reports of the same happening to other people? Berkley Vanish Fluorocarbon Line remains clear underwater, which makes it virtually invisible to any nearby fish. This is important when fishing in clear water where line visibility has the potential to spook a fish from your bait or lure. It is also useful if the fishing is shut down and you want to try some finesse-style fishing. Berkley Vanish Fluorocarbon Line works because of the unique formula that refracts light similar to water. This line is rated to 8-pound which is ideal for estuary species, such as bream and flathead. It is also perfect to use when trout fishing in rivers or dams. Fluorocarbon is a great leader material when fishing with braid. Simply connect the 2 lines with an Albright knot, or any other of the knots that create a strong connection between 2 lines. Berkley Vanish Fluorocarbon Line will give you a competitive edge over your mates, and they will be asking you what your secret is!
